ParticipantNonnie-
The real Neal Cassady was known as the Peter Pan of his time.
He did a documentary in the 60’s with the Grateful Dead “Magic Trip” where Neal drove the bus, named “Further” from San Fran to NY.
The Grateful Dead wrote a song about Neal and the trip, “The Other One”.
Some of the lyrics: “Cowboy Neal, at the wheel on the bus to Never Never Land”.There’s also a bus company that has been based in NY since the 1930’s- The Peter Pan Bus Co.
And a famous bakery in NY called Peter Pan Pastries.K&H are self proclaimed ‘Dead Heads” and created a fictitious band for LOST, based on the Grateful Dead, called Geronimo Jackson.
Emma has a Geronimo Jackson sticker on her car. Henry had a GJ CD in his backpack. Neal has a GJ sticker on his phone case.
So, by connecting all these together, I believe K&H named him Neal Cassady because of the Peter Pan clues associated with the name.
(and I also believe he’s Bae).Me and TheGoldenKey have added these clues to her Bae is Peter Pan and Henry’s father theory.

ParticipantI truly believe that Neal is not just some guy. As in LOST, names a very important. I really think Neal is Bae and Peter Pan. The name Neal Cassady just has way too many connections to Peter Pan.

ParticipantI agree about the bean being one time use, too. By ‘going to at least one other world’ I know, TheGoldenKey and I have discussed her theory many times, and we both believe that Bae went to Neverland. That doesn’t mean he used the bean more than once. Everyone keeps saying, the BF sent Bae to a world without magic…well, we all know the BF lies. If Bae went to Neverland with the bean, he would be able to travel to our world, as Peter Pan could travel freely between our world and Neverland- he wouldn’t need the bean, or another bean…
About the ‘misleads’…yes, taken alone, they could’ve been misleads, as in The Doctor w/the Oz nods. However, those weren’t just nods & misleads. They were pointing out the fact that we will indeed be seeing Wizard of Oz. K&H have confirmed this in an interview in Entertainment Weekly.
I am sooo looking forward to seeing Oz! ๐

Participantwewerecursed- that is a good theory.
Thought you might be interested in my friend’s theory as well, as it also supports the Neal (Henry’s dad)/PP/Bae theory.Good pick up on the Neal Cassady connections…notice at the bottom of this theory, we have come across even more connections!
Daniel, I thought you’d appreciate this too, since you seem so interested ๐
I’m surprised you haven’t seen TheGoldenKeys theory…it has been posted on here, somewhere, for a while, now ๐Theory by TheGoldenKey:
While I’ve been theorizing since last Feb. that Bae would end up as Peter Pan. I’m also convinced that he will also be Henry’s dad (Michael Raymond James).
The motivation for J.M. Barrie writing Peter Pan was the death of his 13 year old brother. His brother died 2 days before his 14th birthday. Note that Bae was 14 when he disappeared.
Barrie called Peter and the children of Neverland `lost boys`. This was in reference to parents that had lost children to death, as his mother had. Note that Rumples ALWAYS refers to Bae as being `lost`.
Peter Pan and the other lost boys were caught between two worlds. Life & death. Note that Bae is caught between two worlds, magic & real world.
The Blue Fairy instructs Bae to follow the magic bean wherever it leads him. This leads us to believe that he went to at least one other world before reaching ours.
Robert Carlyle has admitted that Rumples is several centuries old. So timeline for Bae going missing is many centuries as well, as he went through the vortex when Rumples first took power. The 1st and 2nd Ogre Wars also show us that time frame. This was long before Snow, PC, EQ, Gepetto, Jiminy, etc. So, considering that Bae is several centuries old, it would make sense if he landed in Neverland and remained 14 prior to coming to the real world.
Peter Pan would travel to the real world and bring children back to Neverland. Emma was an orphan, living in an orphanage. What if Peter traveled there looking for `lost boys`. Bae had a friend Morraine back in FTL. I believe a young Emma would have resembled Morraine in many ways. Perhaps Peter became quite taken with Emma and decided to stay. Perhaps Emma convinced him to stay, just as Wendy attempted to do in the original story. Perhaps he ended up in that same orphanage from 14 on, developed a friendship with Emma that ended in their late teens. That could also bring into play the possibility of Bae, aka Peter Pan, being Henry`s father.
We now have Captain Hook in SB. K&H also stated that we would find out about Bae this season as we would about Henry`s father. Funny how they have brought Michael Raymond-James in, with a recurring role, and have been so secretive about his character. Let`s not forget how uncanny his resemblance is to Dylan Schmid, young Baelfire.
This has been my theory since last February that Bae would end up as Peter Pan. Recent spoilers have only convinced more. In the upcoming issue of TV Guide, posted here under the News tab, Josh Dallas says this about Emma & Henry’s father: โthere is a certain percentage of this man that Emma knows, and a certain part that she doesnโt. She had some sort of relationship with him, but there is an element of surprise for Emma as to the fullness of who this man is.โ This would follow my theory of Peter Pan showing up at Emma’s orphanage at 14 and remaining for a number of years. She knows him as an adolescent/young adult from the orphanage but has no idea of his Fairy Tale character.Go team Bae/Peter Pan/Henry’s father.
In 2×06, Tallahassee, we see several nods to Neverland/Peter Pan.
1) Emma mentions Neverland while climbing the beanstalk. Hook replies in reference to Lost Boys.
2) Emma mentions Neverland again in the motel room with Neal. When selecting a place to go, Neal tells Emma to close her eyes and pick a place. In Peter Pan, Peter tells Wendy to close your eyes……..and you’ll see Neverland.
3) Same dream catcher in Neals apt. and in motel room. Screams Tiger Lily.
4) August says to Neal “Been awhile, where did you go?” Neal replies, “I tried to lose myself, it didn’t work.” Lose as in Lost Boys or Rumple saying his son was Lost to him.
5) Neal repeatedly wears the same green hoody. Peter wore green and Bae wore the green cloak. Note we see Henry in the BBQ picture with a green cloak and blue scarf similar to Bae’s.
TheGoldenKey asked me to add this to her theory (by Gypsy):
Neal Cassady- NY City guy’s name (alias..??). Real person, often called the Peter Pan of his time. Part of the Beat Generation.
Was the inspiration for the character Mac in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”- nod – Psyche Ward Nurse (Ratched)/ Guy sweeping (Chief).
Inspiration for the Character Dean Moriarty in Jack Keruoac’s “On The Road”- nod, LOST- name on Ben’s passport.
Earned the nickname Cowboy in the documentary “Magic Trip” along with the Grateful Dead. Neal drove the “Further” Bus from San Fran to NY.
Inspiration for the Dead song “The Other One”- lyrics; “Cowboy Neal, at the Wheel, on the bus to Never Never Land…”
Peter Pan Bus Co. is based in NY and has been since the 1930″s…also, famous bakery- Peter Pan Pastries is in NY.
Another Dead song about Neal- “Cassidy” (yes, diff spelling), some of the lyrics-” Born to me, Cassidy…”
The Grateful Dead ties in with the Geronimo Jackson clues- sticker on Emma’s car, CD in Henry’s backpack, sticker on Neal’s phone.
Geronimo Jackson was a fictitious band, based on the Grateful Dead, created by K&H for LOST.

ParticipantK&H have said in the entertainment Weekly interview that Oz is not a question of ‘if’ but a question of ‘when’.
And, ‘just’ a nod, no, that really wouldn’t be evidence of anything, really, but naming Henry’s father Neal Cassady is more than just a nod- the fact that the name Neal Cassady is heavily connected to Peter Pan is evidence, to me. I haven’t seen stronger ‘evidence’ pointing to another character. So, the Neal Cassady clues tie in with TheGoldenKey’s theory of Bae being PP and Henry’s father. Names are all- important to these guys…they did the same thing with LOST.
