But the problem with this part is that there can only be one Dark One at a time. Rumple is alive so there canāt be another Dark One. If the hooded figure is Neal then it canāt be DarkOne Neal
I don’t think Neal is there but I think the Hooded guy is her father.
I like this guy’s idea I don’t know about the movie Grudge never seen it but I like the rest of the story.
It has been mentioned that The Tower was ‘influenced’ (?) by the movie The Grudge, so here’s my guess.
Rapunzel was murdered …maybe by The Dark One. Based on the movie, the evil spirit created by her death haunts the tower and can present itself as the terrified Rapunzel that Charming thinks he should save. One of the robed figures seen in the promo is Rapunzel’s father who tries to keep anyone from climbing the tower and into the trap. The other robed figure could be Neal gone Dark (although the thighs look too thin, the legs too long and the shoulders too straight. .but looking at blurry screen grab). It was also stated (I think) that Charming also meets Hook there. If so, and Neal has gone the Dark One path, then Hook might have learned this and remembers but Charming doesn’t. ….or a variation on this theme. I look forward to other theories that ref the movie.0

Why just a dark surprise for David?
I wonder if David’s father is her father too? After all King George made a comment in the mines about David’s family. Or perhaps tries to steal David away from Snow?
