Neal never knew Hook when he was with his mother, Milah. Neal and Belle never really spent time together. If anything, at this point, Belle was “his dad’s girlfriend” and Hook was his estranged mother’s boyfriend. And also, the guy who wanted to kill his father and handed him over to Pan’s henchman, Felix. That is their relationship, so far. Hook and Belle can hardly be considered step – parents. What Neal and Belle’s relationship grows into NOW, is the question.
As GK pointed out – anything is posible.
Good example with Mrs. Robinson. That was pivotal for it’s time.
It broke the rules, just like K&H have done with LOST and now, OUAT.
I try to keep an open mind, too, because unless we can read their minds, any theory is valid unless disproved by canon.
Short of a fling/love interests – a brother/sister type relationship is more believable than a mother/son relationship.
In keeping with Eddie and Adam’s confirmation that OUAT S3 would be reminiscent of. LOST S4:
Episode “There’s No Place Like Home” (note the title)- Jack gives Christian’s eulogy and finds out about his sister – Claire (who, btw, is portrayed by Emilie de Raven).
Like Jack, Neal is suffering the loss of his father….finds a ‘sister’ in Belle.For the record, BP24- I didn’t mean that your comment was laughable. I meant the thought of Belle portaying a Step – mother to Neal was laughable.

I don’t care what Emilie tweeted…..that has not been depicted on camera and I don’t buy it.True, I never saw Belle as a Step -mother to Neal. That ‘s laughable!
Same goes for Hook as a Step -father.
Is anything possible? Sure. Especially where there’s a game changer.
I guess a fling could be possible, I just don’t see them as a couple.
Same with Emma and Hook. A fling, maybe. True Loves….I doubt it.
Just look at Kate/Jack/Sawyer/Juliet……..yes, these are the LOST writers…..they said S3 was going to be like S4 of LOST. So far, that has been the case, so, I don’t see them dropping the parallels now.Neal and Belle…..nah. Won’t happen. They’ve made it quite obvious that Belle and Rumple are True Loves. Neal Loves Emma.
When it comes to LOST (HUGE LOST fan here :))……..that was not an “anything goes” kind of show. Everything that happened in that intricate weave of a plot was for a reason. If it didn’t drive the plot forward or add to character developement, it wasn’t there.
Neal and Belle as love interests…..has no place in the show because there’s no reason for it.
The foreshadowing of Emma and Neal reuniting was in the Geronimo Jackson (LOST nod) sticker prominantly displayed on Emma’s car at the end of S3E11….just as it was in the the S1 finale and the S2 premiere.Love this! Well thought out. Nice work 🙂
