ParticipantOK, I think we’ve taken that PA way too literally since yesterday’s spoiler news broke. If I understand it correctly, the PA heard the spoiler about whoever is being written off the show and THEN made the flippant comment about how they didn’t think that person was happy anyway. We’ve somehow turned it into someone is leaving the show BECAUSE they’re unhappy with their storyline which, again if I’m understanding things correctly, isn’t actually what the tweets all said in the first place. So why are we all jumping to the conclusion that someone is unhappy with their storyline and wants off the show? That was never actually said by anyone. And I never got to read it but there was something else about a trailer being trashed? That could easily be explained by any number of cast members dogs since almost all of them have one and pets do go crazy if they’re left alone too long. Too many things are unconfirmed and total heresy so I’m taking those with a giant grain of salt. Anyway, maybe it really is a storyline dictated departure which leads me back to Hook who doesn’t really have as many important connections to the cast as the others (I count only one, Emma, because they totally dropped the ball on the CaptainFire stuff which is still something that bugs the crap out of me) and could totally complete a redemption arc with something big like that. At any rate, I think we should stop assuming someone is unhappy on the show (how would that PA know that anyway?! Aren’t PA’s working with Adam & Eddy mostly…who are located in CA last time I checked) and just go with what Adam has said about it being a storyline dictated departure. That makes more sense with everything we’ve heard and again, I really hope that PA is out of work because they caused way more drama in this entire spoiler thing than was necessary and I’m about 90% sure they did it all on purpose. Who tweets stuff like that without trying to get attention?!
/end rant (someone please post more pretty stuff that I can look at when I get home from work!)

Agreed. I’ve been rethinking my order of favorites of S3A and I think Nasty Habits may top my previous favorite Ariel. #HopeForSwanFire #HopeForNeal
You asked for it a little bit though! He probably knows when it happens but isn’t at liberty say anything yet so he gave you a snark Adam type of response but with a humorous undertone. I laughed and banged my head on the desk too, LOL 😉
Nasty Habits was a fantastic episode. I’ve been trying to figure out my favorite episode of S3 so far and the only things I keep coming up with are scenes, not full episodes, but NH was definitely a good one. Going Home was probably my favorite episode only because of the emotional impact and WTH-ness that came from it but Nasty Habits is right up there too. Fave scenes are still Emma’s breakdown with Snow and the EPIC HUG with her and Neal. 🙂

ParticipantA&E don’t do the promotion for the show, they tell us that all the time, but IIRC, the ratings rarely went up or down much depending on the amount of CS stuff or Hook screen time that aired during this first part of the season. The show has pretty much settled into one set area ratings wise and doesn’t fluctuate much from it (though the DVR numbers do add to the number) so if they’re letting ABC dictate story for their show now just to bump up the ratings (which aren’t horrible for the network overall), that’s pretty crappy to do since they preach all the time about how much they want this to be their vision. I know there’s the whole business side to things but why set up SO MUCH STUFF for SwanFire and then say, “Oops, wait, too bad…your guy gets nothing after all because we need to prop up our golden boy to please the networks and bump up our ratings. Neal doesn’t get a happy ending anymore”. They didn’t do that with Lost and I have a hard time thinking they would do it with OUAT either. Yes, people got killed off on Lost but the deaths mostly made sense. The only characters who were hated and killed off because of that were Nikki and Paulo and MRJ is not even remotely in the category of those two nitwits (I refuse to believe that MRJ is unhappy on OUAT…he just doesn’t come across that way at all in anything I’ve ever read from him or on Twitter and he’s normally pretty brutal with his honesty). That is just LAZY WRITING and it will cause me to stop watching the show because I can’t fathom any scenario where Neal dying makes any sort of sense with where the story is on the show right now. Maybe they try to make it work somehow but that will probably cause me to leave too because they’ve given us too many breadcrumbs to follow to just take it away without warning and then claim it was all storyline. Neal dying takes away part of Rumple, Henry, and Emma’s potential happy endings and I seriously have doubts that they would ruin three other people’s happiness in one fell swoop. Plus it’s lazy and they just did this last season…did I mentionit was lazy?!?
And I still think that the person mentioned by the PA (who should be fired yesterday) and the comments about a trashed trailer or an unhappy actor/actress were just second hand gossip that didn’t need to be posted on social media. I don’t even think it’s true. That’s my main reason for hoping this person loses their job. All that stuff did was rile up the fandom and it’s not kosher to let behind the scenes stuff like that leak out about your work place.
Just my opinion on things and on that note, I need to go to bed so I can get up before the crack of dawn and try to get to work in the snow tomorrow. 🙁

Participanthookian wrote: Colin left his band for Once and moved his family to Vancouver and purchased a home. He wouldn’t do that stuff if he was planning on leaving back to Ireland. He did all of this for OUAT.
Well it might not be Ireland. Many actors live in Vancouver and work all over the world. It’s closer to LA than Ireland. Meghan Ory lives there, even though her new show isn’t shot there after the pilot. So I think Phee is saying that moving to Vancouver isn’t necessarily a “I’m here to stay” sort of gig. Many actors also get houses in Vancouver and then have homes in other major cities for when they’re shooting.
This happens with baseball players all the time. A ton of players for my Reds have houses or apartments somewhere in the Cincinnati area simply for convenience but if they get traded or retire or just don’t make the team for whatever reason, they have to be ready to move on a moment’s notice. I think acting is very similar in that there are no guarantees and you always have to be ready.
BTW-The only opinions I have tonight are these two: One, I don’t think the first death spoiler and the person supposedly who’s unhappy that the PA was talking about are this new death that was spoiled by TV Line. No idea why but I just have this feeling they aren’t the same thing. Two, I hope that PA gets fired for leaking out info like this because all it did was add fuel to what’s all ready a pretty big fire brewing in the fandom. She needs to keep her mouth shut and do her job. I feel like she tweets stuff just to get attention which is beyond not right. /end rant

ParticipantAll right…we need some hope so I’m going to attempt to provide some right now. For one, I’m starting to lean towards the death being Hook simply because it would be high profile in the media (aka, attention for the show) and while emotional for parts of the fandom, it doesn’t totally affect the show as a whole but could still allow some growth for everyone, if they write it right, and for Hook as a character which a lot of us have been asking for this season. I could see Colin maybe wanting to go back to Ireland with his family because this job wasn’t supposed to be a long term one for him and maybe he feels like it’s been too long. I don’t know…maybe I’m reaching but it could easily be Hook and work pretty well in the storyline of the show. (BTW-Whoever started speculating that the death happens earlier into the second half of the season, you might be onto something with no pics of Hook out there right now. I agree that this death may happen sooner rather than later and that could be why they spoiled it so early. I love the idea of the dates though too. These guys do love their numbers…)
Two, MRJ has played some pretty nasty characters on TV in his career. I think I read somewhere that Neal may be one of the first ‘nice’ characters that he’s played in a while? I could be wrong about that but he’s certainly played some bad dudes. It looks like he’s been on Twitter for a while now so I’m sure he’s heard all sorts of things about the other characters he’s played which might actually be justified not having seen True Blood or his other bad guys (Terriers doesn’t count since he’s more good in that) in addition to the slop I’m sure he’s heard from this fandom. Actors by nature have pretty thick skins and he’s got one of the thickest just coming from some of the things he’s reposted on there and I have a hard time seeing him getting totally annoyed by the fan tweets and asking out of his regular paying gig so he can go do something else. He wasn’t working much when he got this role and actors tend to like steady work so that doesn’t really make sense to me that he would let a fandom drive him away from a show that by all accounts, he really enjoys being part of now. I looked back on some of his tweets and they’re all so positive (in general…not just about the show) and I just can’t see him being crazy upset over his storyline when it hasn’t really gotten started for SwanFire or Neal as a father yet. Colin on the other hand…I can see him being maybe upset that Hook isn’t the villain that he started out as anymore and asking to move on including him going back home to the rest of his family. Just a hunch of mine from being a fan of other shows and seeing things like that happen in the past.
And lastly, and I really hate to write this out, I could easily see it being Emilie too. She didn’t have much of anything to do in the first half of the season and we saw this very thing happen with Meghan last year when she became a regular and then got no story and left for other things. I could see that happening with Emilie too although I wouldn’t like this at all either as I enjoy Belle and think she brings much needed heart to Rumple (along with Nealfire). Seriously, if they lose either of these two character, Rumple is going to suffer greatly as a character because his heart will be partly gone. I don’t want to lose either of them.
OK, I need food therapy now so I’m going to eat dinner. Tumblr is full of win right now with some of the SwanFire folks that we quote a lot so go check that out for some great thoughts about everything. Hopefully that hasn’t changed in the last half hour and shocked of all shockers, there are actually some positive things in the comments of the TV Line article too. I’m stunned by that! 😮

Participant^^^Can you help me out with this information? I went searching for it but couldn’t find anything and I hadn’t really heard this news. That does make a difference if the actor/actress wants out but I will genuinely be very upset if any of this info pertains to MRJ because he’s seemed quite happy with the show since he got there. They picked him out to play Neal without an audition too which has to be flattering for any actor. I think it will upset me more if it’s him only because we know then that the fandom helped get rid of him (IMO). He gets way too much hate from people that he doesn’t deserve at all. *sigh* I HATE SPOILERS but part of me is glad I won’t be hit like a brick when it does happen because I’ll know it’s coming. This still sucks though.

ParticipantWHY ON EARTH did that spoiler have to come out today??! Talk about ruining my Monday. After the fun photo by Jen I thought I was having a great day and was finally feeling slightly optimistic about the show again. That sucks rocks. The media will be running with this one forever now and I’m sure all the CS crazies will be infiltrating every single site with how much they hope it’s Neal and not their precious Hook (sorry if I sound bitter but I’m really upset right now). Here’s my thoughts on this though: If they really wanted to kill off Nealfire, they had their chance at the end of season two and yet they didn’t do it. They felt there was more story to tell with him and he did have a big impact on the Neverland story. His character has also been in the works a LOT longer than any other one aside from the big five (Emma, Snowing, Regina, Rumple) and he has connections to almost everyone right now. My worry? The media and crazy CS fans along with ABC may have driven A&E to this point where they feel like they have to placate all of them and decide to do something drastic to save the ‘slowly falling more and more every episode’ ratings. That would be show suicide IMO because when fans and the media start influencing your vision, YOUR SHOW IS DESTINED TO FAIL. I really hate to write this but if there’s any character that they’ve unfortunately written into a corner, it’s actually Hook and that’s a shame because he has so much potential. He was never originally supposed to be a regular character on the show and with them out of Neverland now, and him reduced to being one part of the Triangle of Doom, I can’t see where else his story is going to go. They could actually get some redemption out of him though if he does something sacrificially without getting anything in return but I hate when shows end triangles with one part or the other dying. Either way they go this is going to SUCK and I’m royally honked off that this spoiler got out there because one, the fandom will be going crazy for all of S3 B now, and two, both shipper bases are going to be even more riled up than before which will continue to put large cracks in the overall Oncer fandom. I am so not happy right now (and so help A&E either way because they’re going to get it from either side no matter what).
