ParticipantThanks RG and sorry I forgot to spoiler out that last part. I was typing fast, incoherently, and rambly and I totally forgot about it being in the promo (aka, a spoiler). I feel like I need about a week to process this episode but I think having twelve of them instead is a little too much. I refuse to wish away my vacation to Boston next month, the Olympics, and the start of spring training for my Reds, but DANGIT ALL TO HECK, this is going to be along hiatus!!!! 🙁
LOVE the GIF of Neal talking about his papa being a hero. Hits me right in the feels too and that man can seriously do more things with just his voice than some actors can do with their entire body. He was proud of his papa but you could totally feel his pain too. WAAAAAAHHH!! 🙁

ParticipantOK, I’ve finally caught up with everyone else and now that I’ve mopped up my tears for about the 15th time tonight (youth group was VERY emotional for me tonight with a lot of tears and OUAT making me cry has severely dehydrated me now, LOL), I think I can make a few random comments. I apologize if these are duplicates…I’ve been reading here but skimming slightly too so I didn’t get too spoiled on something before I saw it. 😉
Everything now makes a heck of a lot more sense after watching the entire episode (and I did rewatch the stuff I saw in real time to put in in better context) and I have SO many feels on so many levels. Personally, I loved the themes of hope that each flashback gave us but especially the ones with Rumple and Snowing (Rumple never lost the hope of finding Bae someday and Snowing had to have hope that their daughter would find them) because they were related to family. Family is what this entire show is all about regardless of whatever crap ABC is trying to promote each week. Family, hope, happy endings….these are the main things the entire show is built around and even though it looks totally bleak from our ship’s standpoint, I’m with whoever said up a few pages that things couldn’t look more rosy for SwanFire right now and I have a few reasons why…
Let’s look at those three things a littler closer first and how they still need to be resolved for SF. Hope? Got it. Neal has to have hope that he will see Emma and Henry again and he’s not about give up hope that easily here. Family? That’s his only family (til they find Rumple anyway) and he’s all ready determined that he’s going to do whatever it takes to get them back. Happy endings? He still doesn’t have one and even though it looks great for Emma & Henry in NYC, they’re still separated from their family and need to be with them. It’s great to see that Emma turned her life around and was able to make a home for Henry, but it’s NOT REAL and it never really happened. I don’t know about you guys but I’m not sure how I feel about these new memories. Remember what Grumpy said in season one? Something about how his experiences and pains make him who he is and right now, Emma & Henry are NOT who they’re supposed to be. I do wonder if their curse breaking will leave them like the others are now with both their fake and their real memories intact. That would be really interesting to see but at the same time, I think it would be more heartbreak than I could handle for them because they’d both remember all that good stuff but at the same time, know that it never really happened for them. Maybe they’ll just remember the year since they left Storybrooke but lose the other memories when their curse breaks? I don’t know. I’m conflicted here but I do firmly believe something is going to give them their real memories back and somehow, they’ll all find each other again. “Family always finds each other.” Isn’t that what the show keeps preaching?! Obstacles are what make couples grow and get closer together and this one might look totally crazy right now but so did a curse being put upon an entire town of fairy tale characters in season one and we all know what happened there. 😉
The other thing that gives me hope was mentioned up above somewhere too…that Emma went over to Neal to talk to him before she left (EPIC HUG IS EPIC) but Hook had to actually go over and stop Emma to talk to her. She was going to leave without saying anything to him. That was a really big thing to me and no one will ever convince me that wasn’t on purpose. I also loved Neal’s faith that he would see both of them again. YES YOU WILL PUPPY NEAL…please don’t look sad! *pardon me while I bawl again* 🙁
The other thing I wanted to mention that gives me hope is that CS may really happen while Emma is in a cursed state. They can actually avoid talking about any of Hook’s flaws with Emma because she seriously doesn’t know them or remember what all he’s done to her, but if he does start up something with her while she’s in that state, it’s not going to be pretty when she’s not cursed anymore and while the other stuff may bother her (especially if she FINALLY learns about Milah and when Hook abandoned Neal to NL), I think the bigger thing that may bother her is that Hook went after her knowing she wasn’t in her right mind. I can’t see Neal doing anything to cause Emma more harm right now because he’ll understand she’s not really her and that her memories of him are only the bad ones right now. Add to this that CS seems apparent to happen first somehow, I think it was Phee who said this but until you go through both ships, you really can’t establish which one will be endgame. SF happening last doesn’t have to be that way but it does make things look much better for our ship since it means the other one has to end! #HopeforSwanFire better trend HARDCORE in the second half of this season! l;)
Random Moment of Glee: I may or may not have cheered when Emma kicked Hook in his special place after he kissed her in the NYC scene. 😉
BTW-I LOVE that the dreamcatcher scene from the promo is a new scene!!! Thanks to whoever pointed that out! I’m so discombobulated right now that I can’t remember who posted what anymore, LOL 😆

I’m getting sick all ready of the CS parallels and the episode has only been over for a half hour. I find it bad writing, too. I just don’t see chemistry between them. CaptainFairy actually had it coming out the wazoo…even if you don’t ship it, it was strong. But I just don’t get that spark with Emma and Hook and I’m glad I have you guys because sometimes I wonder what I’m missing that the rest of fandom sees. I’m just getting this niggling feeling that Neal and Snowing sent Hook there. I don’t know why or how, but I get that feeling. At least we got a hug at the end. *so full of emotion*
Of course Neal sent Hook! Emma didn’t show up for “lunch”, so he obviously must think that she didn’t go because she has feelings for Hook. Classic romantic storytelling! He must think that since Emma chose Hook, Hook must be the one to go back and find her to save them all. If only Emma had taken her moment to be happy. I will say I was really disappointed with the way Emma said goodbye to Neal, BUT that actually makes me more hopeful. It sounds weird, but the more they try to downplay Swanfire, the more I think they’re trying to get the viewers to root for them.
Yup. That’s classic storytelling too! 😉
Off to watch my recording and get caught up to where the rest of you are…I feel so behind!! 🙁

ParticipantFYI: Never catch only the last fifteen minutes of any show’s winter finale because it will leave you saying W.T.H. way too much, LOL 😆 (That’s what happened to me tonight but I can watch my recording after Revenge which should clear up my confusion!)
BTW-Just to give you guys something to chew on while I wait to watch my recording, in the fifteen minutes that I saw tonight, I’ve got one thing in my mind and it will not be leaving anytime soon. he ONE PERSON, the ONLY PERSON, in FT land right now that Emma will know right off the bat is Neal. He’s still Henry’s father and their past history is still her history too, and even if she doesn’t remember the SB stuff right now, there is NO DOUBT in my mind that this was done on purpose. CS can have all the fun they want right now because what I saw in those fifteen minutes was them setting up one heck of a SwanFire reunion at the end of season three. BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 <3

ParticipantMore SF family goodness! From Tumblr:
Adorable! <3
Off to youth group for a while and then home to catch OUAT (and Revenge) later tonight! My Bengals are also on Sunday Night Football so my attention span will be nearly non existent for any other things tonight, LOL 😆

ParticipantHappy Birthday KFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay for December birthdays!! 😉
Looking forward to tonight’s episode (please give me at least ONE SF moment of some sort tonight) but at the same time, I’m anxious and kind of dreading it because I think that winter hiatus is going to be LOOOOOOOONNNG. 🙁

Participant*filed under: I volunteer to kiss him awake* Happy ONCE day!!!!
Get in line….I’m first! 😉
It’s late for me here and after being out and about all day I really need to get some sleep but I just wanted to leave you all with a big old PREACH and a thank you for giving me lots of SwanFire feels to read and see tonight. Love you all so much!! 😀

ParticipantOh I love all the pretty and I can actually see all of it right now since I’m at home!! 😀
Random: I REALLY need people to stop sending hateful tweets to MRJ because I get madder and more frustrated with people every single day. If you don’t like Neal that’s fine, but then why are you following him on Twitter and giving him crap about his opinion on things totally not related to OUAT??! THAT IS SO ANNOYING. He seems like such a great and kind hearted person (he was upset about that guy in Texas who drove drunk, killed 4 people, and got off on charges because his parents are rich and they apparently ‘didn’t teach him the right values’…some random twit gave him a hard time about his opinion and he reposted what they wrote which was pretty bad) and I can’t even imagine how much other crap he’s taking from fans. I know actors have an insane type of ego protection and all (you’d have to have that in order to be an actor in the first place) but you start wondering how much they can take when you start seeing it for yourself. I hate haters!!! (((MRJ))) 🙁

ParticipantPhee wrote: It could either be an interesting concept to flip it around, or it could feel like a total rehash. I think it’d be a sort of different twist on the theme, because they’d actually be completely conscious of their present, unlike with the original Curse. And they would actually have memories, they just wouldn’t be real, unlike in the original Curse, where they were just living in a fog.
I think it could be a very interesting concept but I am very worried that it will feel both redundant and confusing. I’m hoping it’s all explained on screen rather quickly because we’ve had these spoilers for about a month now and we’re still going on circles over them. And if WE can’t figure it out…the casual viewer is doomed. So A and E have to make it straight forward enough that people don’t give up.
This is where I’m at with us coming up with so many random ideas because you’re right, you can’t make this show too complicated or you’ll lose the ‘regular’ people. They lost a ton of viewers during Lost’s tenure because the mythology got too complicated and/or they didn’t explain it well enough so I hope they don’t make the same mistake here. I guess my biggest problem with Slurpeez’s theory (and for the record, it’s not a bad one at all…it actually makes sense) is that I can’t see the point of it. Why would all the characters need to be this way right now? Why does the curse change their memories that way? How would Emma/Henry/Regina/Whoever actually break this curse when they might be affected by it too? Who would be immune to it and actually realize something is off with everyone? I just get too many questions in my head when I think about this theory so I’m hoping it’s something more like a What If episode.
My theory: We know Regina tries to do something magical to stop the PP curse from coming but we’ve also seen pics of Regina knocked to the ground so here’s what I thought of when I was driving home from work today. What if Regina is only able to start something to stop it but Emma has to use her magic to finish it and whatever the curse does to the town, ends up knocking her into a comatose state? We haven’t seen any pics of this but maybe it happens after they all run away from the smoke (we have no clue what all they’ve shot indoors for this episode) and go into a building somewhere. Emma ends up in this coma type state where she’s faced with her past…what if she never gave up Henry (NYC stuff) and what if she grew up in FT land after all and wasn’t the savior (FL scenes). That would make episode 3×12 a total AU about Emma’s choices and how things could have turned out with the two different scenarios. Adam & Eddy confirmed that this episode has a lot of Emma in it so I can see the AU part being from her perspective even though we didn’t see her in the FL land outdoor stuff (which could easily have only been like two scenes from the entire episode). She can see how she would have grown up if she’d been part of the Enchanted Forest (no Henry which is what will be off for her there) and Hook isn’t really there in the NYC stuff…he’s a figment of her imagination who’s trying to help her see that giving up Henry was the right thing for her to do at that time (not sure why that would be Hook but we know he’s there so I’m going with it). We think that Snow, David, and Rumbelle were also filming for the NYC stuff so maybe they also help her realize that about Henry? I don’t know. Anyway, the potion we saw could be something Rumple concocted to help Emma get out of the coma like state in SB and she wakes up when she drinks it in NYC and finds herself in the hospital. The episode could end with her starting to better understand her place in this world. She is the savior and we know she takes that seriously, but she’s also a daughter, a mother, a sheriff, a friend, a potential girlfriend to a pirate or a lost boy, and a person who cannot do everything, and maybe she needs to reevaluate how she’s living her life so her happy ending can become more of a possibility. Obviously with a new evil lurking around the corner things will get complicated but hey, it’s OUAT and complication is their middle name, LOL 😉
/end crack theory

ParticipantMaybe it’s just me but I really don’t want to watch even half of a season with the entire town having falsified identities again…didn’t we watch that in all of season one?! 🙁
I’m staring to think that we’re making this whole curse thing too complicated (we were trained for six years on Lost to make things extremely crazy though, LOL) but I can’t figure any of this stuff out any other way. 😮
