BTW-Is anyone else wondering if we’re ever going to find out why Tink is touching both Emma & Neal in the attached picture? We were told a while ago that there were spoilers in this photo, but as far as I can tell, only Hook healing Charming from the Dreamshade (and connecting him to NL for a time), Emma using magic to start the candle that captured the shadow (her holding the candle), Neal with the coconut shadow trapper, and maybe Snow and Emma standing close together (symbol of their bonding in ep 3×2?) have been explained in the show….so why is Tink connecting Neal & Emma? That was done on purpose. I have my hunch but now I have no idea if they’ll do anything about it or even if they remember that they took this spoilery picture in the first place. Hmmm….

Same here! Nevertheless, if Emma is running from her feelings for Neal by dating Hook, it would would exactly parallel how Neal ran from his fear of rejection from Emma by pursuing Tamara instead. Nealâs fear mightâve been so in overdrive that he allowed himself to fall for Tamaraâs trickery (though in his defense, Tamara probably played the perfect girlfriend role to a tee). In Emmaâs case, she probably sees a dalliance with Hook more as an âescape from reality,â which as of late has included Neverland, the new curse, her overwhelming feelings for Neal, her fear of losing Neal again, or her duty as the âsavior.â Hook represents an easy out for Emma. She even said to Neal it wouldâve been easier for her if he had died rather than to face all of the old emotions again. That implies that choosing Neal would be the hard thing to do, but as Snow said to Ariel in 3Ă6, doing the hard thing of opening oneself up to love is so worth it, because then you allow for true love to enter in. The good thing about this happening now would be Emma realizing Hook is wrong for her, and it eventually would shut the door on CS forever. Also, there is the entire new curse thing to look forward to (*sarcasm*), but at least Emma having a fake identity might explain her sudden lapse in judgement for letting herself fall for Hookâs advances. The curse seems to like to pair people together who otherwise wouldnât be right for each other (e.g. David and Kathryn). If that is where the direction of the second half of S3 is headed, I wouldnât be excited for this, but at least Iâd understand any further CS development. It would also give me hope that Emma really is destined for Neal, just as we all had faith David Nolan really was destined for Mary Margaret, despite them being cursed.
Itâs not even that Iâm sure it will make a difference to her. But itâs about fairness. She should know the history of the man sheâs dating. All of it. I donât get it cause JMo once tweeted during a live viewing session when asked if Emma would ever learn about Milah/Bae/Neverland stuff âstay tuned!â (or something like that) which to me implied that sheâd learn soon. And that tweet was back in about 305 or 306. It needs to not be swept under the rug like they appear to be doing with CaptainFire history.
I hear you, really I do, and I totally share in your frustration. But, there are a lot of reasons why sometimes a person lets herself fall for the wrong person, despite seeing the warning signs. Speaking from personal experience, I know what it is to fall for the wrong person, despite seeing the writing on the wall. I just kept ignoring the red flags, because I liked the feeling of being desired. It can be overwhelming when youâre attracted to the wrong person, because it feels good to be wanted. Itâs a very human thing, but that type of thinking can be shallow, and very sadly, quite fleeting. I can also speak from experience of having met the right person, by contrast. They way my husband treats me is the difference of night and day from how my old flame treated me, and I can say that a real man of honor does not do to women the things that Hook does to women.
ITA about Emma running away from everything and thanks for sharing your personal experience here. It’s amazing how this mostly fairy tale television show can still hit you on a personal level with some things they show on it. I think there’s always at least one thing on OUAT that people can relate to and that’s the mark of an enjoyable show IMO. I’m really glad you were able to find your prince! đ
#MoreBOOMLessGloomSlightly off topic (but sort of relevant since we were all just talking about Photoshop) but here’s an article I just found on Yahoo that I couldn’t wait to post here. Perhaps all those Oncers out there who seem totally preoccupied with the looks of people on TV or in magazines (*cough Hook cough*) should take some of this to heart and start seeing the show through the actions and writing instead of the superficial stuff.

PREACH. I think a serious campaign to get ABC to be more fair with how they promote this show needs to happen during the hiatus. Seriously, Neal’s a freaking MAIN CHARACTER of the show and I feel like he gets left out of things all the time. I know this isn’t Adam & Eddy (they’ve said many times that they don’t do the promotions for the show) but ABC needs to get it’s act together and stop shoving an agenda down the fans throats. It’s become almost a joke to see how much they want certain things to happen and don’t seem to actually pay attention to what’s happening on the show. OY. đ

Well, we now have confirmation that Emma is actually in the episode so clearly Adam thought we needed to know that (forget the fact that practically the entire show revolves around her, LOL). đ

It is official. It was tweeted by ONCEABC and it was posted on the ONCE FB page. Like I said above, Iâm more or less putting it down as marketing. (Also, ABC why the over photoshop-y-ness of photos all the time? Every single pic you tweet out has been given like 8billion changes: different light! sparkles! blurry! random light shining through corners! colors! Calm down already, ABC)
Ahhh, ABC does love their over Photoshopping of things! Remember those crappy promo pics that we all pretty much hated because they were so over done with the Photoshopping? Ugh, just more of the same from them. I was surprised to see this posted on Twitter and FB last night too. I didn’t think it was all that good of a moment for Hook but trust ABC to try to make him look good again. (BTW-Can I just laugh for a minute about how the word Photoshop has become a verb instead of just being an Adobe program? Too funny, LOL)
I still believe that Emma & Neal will get their happily ever after at some point (hopefully it starts later this season) but I’m pretty much resigned to the fact that the second part of S3 is probably going to suck for SwanFire fans. I kind of feel like the media’s the one doing the number on us and not Adam & Eddy because things really are never as we think they are from promos, pics, or the show itself. I’m hoping I’m wrong on this but I don’t have a positive feeling going into the winter break. Not gonna lie….it will be really hard for me to watch if Emma starts dating Hook while still not knowing some important facts about him (Milah’s identity, his abandonment of Neal to NL, the trickery he’s used to get her, etc) and seeing Neal be left alone all over again. He’s had so much heartache in his life and watching Emma be with the man who took his mother away may be the thing that makes me stop watching live and have to watch via recording because it will be too hard for me. Neal’s made his mistakes, he’s even admitted and apologized for them many times, but he really doesn’t deserve to go through that sort of pain. đ

Emma has all ready shown several times that’s she’s very powerful but she doesn’t have a whole lot of control over her power yet. She’s been referenced as the Savior way too many times this season for her not to play some sort of part in breaking this new curse whatever it may be. Love is the strongest magic of all too so maybe you guys are really onto something here. If both of your theories hold and this AU type of mess is all over with in an episode or two, that would come awfully close to the year ‘anniversary’ of Manhattan which seems like way too big of a coincidence to me. I wonder if Adam and Eddy really are thinking along those lines or if we’re totally off base. They’ve used words like poetic, fate, and destiny a little too much while describing SwanFire over the last year and a half so I’m now very curious as to how this is going to work. I REALLY do not want the Triangle of Doom lasting for the entire second half of the season (IMO, Oncers deserve better than this dragging forever) and dangnam it, Emma & Neal need to REALLY TALK about too many things right now for them to just keep throwing action stuff at us. They claimed they wanted to balance things out more this season and while that’s happened in a few instances (Snow & Emma in 3×2, Daddy Charming moments recently), they’ve dropped the ball a few too many other times (CaptainFire, NL backstory for Tink, Hook, and Nealfire) for me to feel confident that they’re doing this more often. Hopefully a few of these things are tackled at least a little bit in 3×11 this week (pictures seem to indicate some progress here) but I’m still cautiously optimistic about that one. Ugh, I hate that after this weekend, we’re going to have so long to wait until we find out what the heck is going on!
I’ll have to look at that Tumblr post when I go to lunch. Stupid Tumblr still blocked on my work computer! đ
