I have to get some sleep right now (loving all the thoughts you guys have posted today!) but I wanted to share this picture I found that was posted earlier today. I think it’s so beautiful. =)

It isn’t just sexual energy, which I think Emma and Neal have in spades, but it’s being comfortable with each other, knowing the other person like you know yourself.
I read that Jennifer Morrison and Sebastian Stan have broken up. So, that leaves Jennifer Morrison on the market, and I believe MRJ is single…Yes, I’m aware that is wishful thinking. At least one of my favorite pairs on the show are getting married in real life.
Oh you aren’t the only one who has been wishfully thought about something like that in recent days, LOL 😆 *points at self as another wishful thinker and hopeless romantic* 😉
And count me as another who agrees that JMo and MRJ have all kinds of amazing chemistry together and it’s what really makes SwanFire work so well. 🙂
#MoreBOOMLessGloomheatherc1275ParticipantHey I finally got something to post!!! Maybe I’ll figure these boards out after all, LOL 😆
*HUGS THE ENTIRE THREAD OF PEOPLE* 🙂

#MoreBOOMLessGloomheatherc1275ParticipantI don’t have much to add tonight but I wanted to say welcome to Ranisha!!! Always awesome to meet another Swanfire fan! 😀
And that video that was posted a page or two back made me bawl. Pardon me while I watch it again and head into my corner with some cookies. *sniff sniff*
#MoreBOOMLessGloomheatherc1275ParticipantI feel like a lot of this really is sort of shipper/fan propaganda. I know there’s people from every side (its not just Neal vs Hook…there’s very vocal anti-both from SQers actually), and you’ll see thinly reasoned rants about Hook too, where people wish him gone, then it triggers all the people playing chicken little about how he’s the only person that they watch the show to see. It always makes me raise an eyebrow if ratings go up for an episode that way–these fair weather fans are probably some of those who don’t seem to understand the story because they aren’t watching all of it apparently, only if it has their favorite.
I don’t think Neal fans tend to do that–they tend to be a subset of fans of the show in general because the show has never promoted Neal as a character “A legend, Captain Hook!”, or his face as “look hot guy”. They do dress him more as an ordinary guy too, and while I would love to see him in that 3pc suit again, or even that nice scarf and wool coat, if they keep going with the more rugged look, it suits the character. He grew up pretty poor, not in fine clothes, though his leather jackets wouldn’t be amiss either
Thanks for sharing this because I thought I was the only one who was noticing that and it fits my fandom of the show as well. I became a big time fan of the show in general way early in season one and I’ve always maintained that I’m a fan of the SHOW first and ships or favorite characters comes second for me. I love the overall story that Adam & Eddy are telling us and I want to see where it ends up and I’m confused by people who claim to only watch any show for one or two characters and won’t watch anymore if they’re gone. If you only started watching the show for Hook for example, not trying to single anyone out although a few folks on that other board I’ve mentioned a few times fit into this category, then did you even watch season one??! He wasn’t in it…he was never even mentioned for that matter so why are you a fan of the show if he wasn’t even around until episode 2×4? I don’t know if I’ll ever understand that mindset. I’ve seen people claim the same thing about other characters too and while I’d be sad to see any of the characters killed off/leave the show, I’m not going to stop watching because of it. I don’t watch TV for the characters; I watch for the stories and its only when the stories either get too weird or go way off track that I consider giving up a show (i.e. Glee, which I gave up after season three and I’ve never looked back).
I REALLY wish I wasn’t stuck at work because I can’t see the great photos posted from Tumblr. 🙁

I wish I could find an average fan. One who just watches the show without participating in any sort of fan culture and ask them about every aspect of the show.

And that in the end is the only thing that matters: who will make Emma happy. It’s Emma’s choice. I want it to be one thing but I’m not Emma.
I have a couple of friends who are like that and I love chatting about OUAT with them because they don’t really have a ‘ship’…they just love the show. I honestly don’t know who they’re rooting for overall because they just enjoy everything and don’t really pick favorites. I know one is a big Snowing fan but the others just watch it all. It’s refreshing for me to just chat in general terms about the show (or about something in a particular episode) rather than just in ship terms for a while. I love our SwanFire group here though too! 🙂
#MoreBOOMLessGloomheatherc1275ParticipantNothing more annoying than having a ton of great pictures posted here and you can’t see them at work because Tumblr is blocked by your IT department, LMAO 😆
Hurry up and pass workday so I can go home and see these pics!!! 😀

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but are we really going to pass judgement on the actor, MRJ, for not being more traditionally handsome? He has a certain appeal which may not be to every person’s taste, but in my esteem, he is just as attractive as Colin O’Donoghue, only more rugged and less guy-liner. I get so annoyed when people judge an actor/actress based purely on externals anyway. I think MRJ is a great actor, as well as ruggedly good-looking. To me, MRJ is the perfect adult version of Baelfire.
He is! 🙂
It bugs me too when people talk about MRJ’s looks partially because he seems like such a sweet guy (I will never forget his innocent questions about shipping last year….OMG, the poor guy’s probably sorry he ever asked now, LOL) and mostly because the stuff they say is horribly mean and degrading at times (and not even true IMO). He is ADORABLE and I was just having a conversation with a friend on Twitter today about how his smile just melts me into a puddle of drool. There’s a warmth and friendliness to him that is SO appealing and I love that he’s not afraid to speak his mind about things on Twitter. There’s such a stupid standard in Hollywood to be all attractive and model looking that I find myself more attracted to the people who look like they could be walking on the streets of my hometown and who also seem more down to earth. MRJ fits both those bills to a T and I feel like we’re blessed that he’s playing Baelfire on OUAT. He’s a respected guy, he takes his craft very seriously, and at the same time, I’ve read more than a few times from other cast members (most notably, JMo who’s said this multiple times now) that he’s got a great sense of humor and keeps everyone laughing all the time. How can you not find that appealing??! People are just….I don’t know, weirdos I guess, LOL 😆
Don’t get me started again on the people who only want Emma with Hook because “he’s the hotter guy” and I’ve seen that posted MORE than a few places in the last few months. Yeah, because that’s what’s important in relationships….who you think is the hotter guy. *bangs head on a wall* 😮
#MoreBOOMLessGloomheatherc1275ParticipantCount me as another who doesn’t get all the Neal hate and is starting to get really annoyed with it too. He’s also one of my favorite characters and MRJ seems like such a sweet guy….I shudder to think about the tweets he gets from these hater people. 🙁 I think I’ve got four pretty distinct reasons why other people seem to hate him though and all of them can be debunked if they just pay attention and actually watch the same show as the rest of us. 😉
1. Neal is in the way of Emma/Hook: Last time I checked, Emma is perfectly capable of making her own decisions as far as who she might want to be with but right now, I think they’re all a little distracted by the whole ‘Henry was kidnapped by Peter Pan’ thing to be thinking too much about love. Obviously we believe that Emma & Neal are endgame but the pieces are there for something to happen between Emma/Hook too. It’s all too early to predict at this point and I trust that the writers aren’t going to drag this triangle garbage out for too long (the fanbase won’t survive more than one season of this, LOL). This also may be a case where people need to chill the frack out and let the story play out before they go into snotty fan mode, LOL 😆
2. Neal left Emma pregnant and alone and never searched for her: OK, first, Neal didn’t know Emma was pregnant at the time and if he had known that, no way would he have left her and then this show would have a WAY different story going on right now. People seem to conveniently forget that Neal has his own issues with the whole abandonment by his father thing that he’s still not over AND being abandoned by Hook in Neverland AND being stuck there for hundreds of years AND growing up as a loner who never found a home or a family (well, he did have the Darlings for about 2.5 seconds but obviously that was broken too). Neal has not had an easy life at all and finding out that your father created this evil curse to try to find him, which ultimately caused Emma to grow up alone and without her parents, was just crushing for him (we saw that in Tallahassee….I wanted to give him a hug so badly). There was no good choice for him in that situation and he did what he thought was best for EMMA, not for him, which we know wasn’t easy for him. And that whole not searching for her thing? Mulan said it best, “Your belief in love wasn’t strong enough to overcome your fear of rejection.” TRUTH. Dude was terrified that Emma would hate him for what he did and he took the easy way out by not searching for her and finding someone else because he felt unworthy of her love now. He’s only admitted his mistakes about a hundred times this season but apparently everyone else is allowed to make mistakes and get forgiveness for them but NOT NEAL. Grrrrrr, I feel a bigger rant coming on but I really need to finish this post so I can dry my hair and get some sleep. Whoa, that was random, sorry guys, LOL 😉 /end random tangent
3. Neal treated Emma badly after they met up again in NY: I have NO IDEA why people are using this as a reason to hate Neal because all I saw between them was understanding that HENRY needed to come first, some awesome sass between them because that’s how they roll, and a lot of getting to know each other all over again because it had been such a long time. He never yelled at her (she actually yelled at him a lot, LOL), he never threw anything at her, didn’t beat her, never talked down to her, he never threw her out of his room (even after she broke into it which is one of my fave scenes EVER BTW—“Oh hell no, I taught her that! EMMA!! 😆 ). He had no reason to believe Tamara was bad at that point and he didn’t treat Emma badly over it. I honestly don’t get this one at all and the fact that people keep using it annoys the ever loving snot out of me.
4. They don’t see Neal as Baelfire: I personally think there are a LOT of people out there who haven’t connected that Neal and Baelfire are the same person. They’re so used to Dylan playing Bae that they haven’t been able to accept that Neal is grown up Bae. I don’t think they’re seeing that grown up Bae isn’t the same sweet innocent boy who was always trying to do the right thing. He’s a grown up now who’s completely scarred by his father’s actions, scarred by being alone for such a long time, scarred by having to learn how to survive on the streets for a long time, scarred by his time in Neverland, scarred by what he did to Emma, scarred by finding out he’s a father (and that he actually left Emma alone and pregnant…his eyes during Manhattan when he finds that out just broke me the first time I saw that ep :(), scarred by Tamara’s betrayal, and scarred by Peter Pan’s actions now which are threatening the only family he wants in the world right now. They just don’t see him as Bae and I don’t understand that one either.
I’ve ranted enough tonight. Time to dry my hair and go to bed. Thanks for reading my rambling rant tonight! 😉
