Heather did you hear about the Chicago Fire actress?
Oh gosh, I did hear about that yesterday and then just read a little more about it this morning. It makes me so sad because it was such a tragic accident. She didn’t play a regular character on the show but was a big part of the Chicago Fire/PD crossover episodes late in the season last year. I thought she was great and that we might see her again this coming season but now that’s not possible anymore. This is a big reminder that you just never know how much time you have left on this planet. I feel so bad for her family and friends, especially her husband and two teenaged kids. Really sad for the CF/PD folks too. By all accounts she was a lovely person. RIP 😥

Wish I could come help you with your IKEA stuff since I’ve become so DIY motivated after putting together two IKEA pieces on my own this past weekend. Maybe between the two of us, they’d be put together right the first time…. 😉
I have this huge meta in my head that I’ve wanted to write since the conversation started here about TV, shipping, stories, plotholes, and all the other stuff that’s been mentioned the last few days but I need to either get REALLY bored at work (and for my boss to take a hike for a half hour) or to write it up in Word and copy and paste it later tonight when I get home. I’ll get it posted at some point today (not that it’s all that interesting…just some stuff that’s rambling around in my head).
BTW-Fanfic I’m now pondering after chatting it up with Jo on the ranch last night: Emma doesn’t break the curse in S1 (she saves Henry’s life with a kiss but it doesn’t break the original curse), somehow Neal ends up in Storybrooke and learns about Henry and how his father is doing, he and Emma reconnect over a now shared past in the EF and their lost childhoods from being sent to our world, and eventually it’s THEIR TLK that breaks the original curse and reunites everyone there. *ponders if she would have time to write this and if she even wants to go there since she still gets way too emotional over things* 😮

Me too. Besides the shallowness though, the series does look pretty awesome and it should be extremely fascinating to watch our own US history come to life. I can’t wait for our watch party! 😀
#MoreBOOMLessGloomSlurp’s post above is a perfect illustration of my #1 reason for giving up this show and not even feeling bad about it anymore. I find nothing positive or hopeful about families losing loved ones and the fact that they thought this plot twist was necessary makes me want to throw things at the two trolls and remind them that millions of people all over the world lose or have lost loved ones and don’t find any hope in this show about fairy tales breaking up families too.
*flips and table and moves on for good*
#MoreBOOMLessGloomWell, so far this holiday weekend I went to King’s Island on Friday after work (we got caught in a random storm for a bit but otherwise it was a great evening), then this morning my mom and I attacked the heck out of IKEA, and after cleaning out a ton of crap from one side of my room (and making a mess out of the other side), I built my new desk all by myself. Tomorrow will be a full day of trying to finish reorganizing everything in my room and building my new storage unit but I promise to swing by the ranch tomorrow night and catch up with you guys. 🙂

Not quite. Generally speaking, the more intensely devoted fans in a fandom are usually outnumbered by the casual fans, but the more devoted a fan becomes, the more active (and louder) they become in the fandom. So while a few million casual fans might enjoy an episode without ever making it widely known, a handful of devoted and occasionally unhinged fans are screaming on a web forum about how the show is now Ruined FOREVER, which can be seen and heard by everyone… including the people making the show. The producers may then start pandering to these voices exclusively, believing them to be the voice of everyone watching (which they will often claim to be) — but “everyone” in this case may in fact consist only of a handful of people, and what this minority wants and what the other, less noisy fans want can differ drastically.
That part definitely hit a little close to home for me and probably the rest of you here too. 🙁
