Participant#HopeForRogueBison
(Text and I are apparently crazy)
Well, we know that all ready but that still doesn’t explain the bison thing, LOL š
My last post got eaten so hopefully this one shows up. What is up with the board lately? Maybe it doesn’t like the direction of the show either. š

ParticipantOK, it has to be asked while I’m sitting here cracking up…what the heck is with the bison stuff and what the heck went on after I went to bed last night???! LOL š
I’m totally done with the two trolls and their false answers, false hope, and ‘storyline dictated’ excuses for things that are OOC and make no sense. Neal’s death was only to promote CS and the fact that they keep denying that fact is honking me off more and more every day. š

ParticipantI’ve been home with a horrendous headache today but I did read the press release for this weekend and I will honestly be stunned if anyone other than Hook casts this new curse now that we know Smee is around but I think he might get tricked into it somehow. Part of me hopes he did it for selfish reasons so people stop trusting him and part of me wants to see him trying to be sorry for making a huge mistake and having Emma throw things at him. It would kind of make sense for him to be the one that comes to find Emma if he’s the one who caused the main problem and knows she’s the only one who can fix it. I just want to see Hook squirm and be rejected ny everyone instead of being this fake hero.
Can you tell I’m cranky today? š

ParticipantI’m heading to bed tonight but to answer a question up thread, I think that MRJ tweet is from the baseball playoffs last fall when the Tigers knocked the Yankees out of the post season. It’s kind of sad in retrospect now. š
@Phee Head canon accepted.

ParticipantThat’s a fantastic drawing! I hope they submitted it to Fan Art Friday (not that the guys have picked anything SF or Neal related since he died but hey, we can hope for some random shred of recognition).
I’m leaving work now because we always close early on Good Friday (yay for half days off!!) so I will catch up with you guys later tonight. IT’S GRIMM NIGHT GUYS! š

ParticipantThis is definitely a business for sure and no one will ever convince me that Neal’s death was ‘storyline dictated’, especially if they don’t do anything about it in the finale nor have anyone actually remember him. If his death was for the story, then why did it mean absolutely nothing?! ABC had a hand in things for sure and I’m with RG on this point: I think the change of story happened a lot later into the season than anyone realizes andĀ I think that’s whatĀ caused all the Twitter silence from the cast along with all the way OOC developments. And the saddest thing about all thisĀ crap is that Hook ISN’T bringing in the ratings. The Jolly Roger was one of the lowest rated episodes of the season and Good Form didn’t do all that well in the first part of S3 either. If that’s ABC’s plan to promote him for ratings, it’s failing on a pretty big level IMO. TheyĀ sacrificed the overall story for one gimmick character and I think they’re starting to pay the price for that now. GA fans are leaving in droves, they’ve alienated all the SF fans, they’re starting to alienate the Rumbelle fans, and they sure as heck are starting to annoy Snowing fans by writing them as dimwits. They’re going to run out of fans soon if they keep making them all mad and I’m still burned up that the two trolls described this half of the season as ‘lighter and more fun’. Is anyone having any fun right now???! š„
I need a pretty thing…

ParticipantYes, I am serial posting here. This story they told, of Ariel ā Charming is still preaching the same as always. Hook is trying to convince him that looking for Eric is fruitless, as the most likely story regaring Eric is that he is dead, and finishes the statement by saying, āThereās no reason to ply her with false hope.ā Charmingās reply is that, āIn my experience, thereās no such thing. You just have to believe.ā Later, they have Hook concede, āIt was Ariel. She never stopped believing.ā I responded, of course, with āStreetlights, people, whoa?ā but in a more serious sense those lines were pretty important. Despite the ārealā death, this show is still preaching hope and believing, which I think is interesting. Itās MORE telling that they didnāt even attempt to trot any of this out with Neal. The 1432 things this show is about ā hope, faith, belief, true love, TLK ā all of them were ignored with regards to Neal. Itās so OOC I really think it will all come back to visit us later. I remembered, too, why I wanted to come post this morning. I woke up with A&Eās quote about the death stuck in my craw. With regards to the upcoming death, they stated, āWe felt it was the end of his/her arc.ā Nealās arc⦠is not done. We havenāt seen half of the backstory, and we sure havenāt seen the resolution of his lifeās journey (to find FAMILY.) No, dying in the woods with his TL & Dad there doesnāt count! I could argue a few characters have lived out their whole arc ā Rumple, in 311 (though I think there is more story to tell there, not only as part of his ship but ultimately ridding the curse of the DO,) Regina in 311, and Hook. I still am on the kick that it is Hook we will see permanently gone by seasonās end ā not for hatred or shipping reasons, but for story reasons. We have seen his backstory ā Liam, etc ā we have seen his lost year and we have seen him resolve his lifeās work of killing the crocodile. All thatās left is final redemption, because the remaining pieces of his arc are making up for the ills he caused to that tiny boy all those years ago. It just makes sense to me ā it just makes sense. His arc is so much more complete than Nealfireās, I really think we are going to see an exchange of some sort in 321/322. Maybe not a literal exchange, but Hook opting to sacrifice himself for the family ā out of āloveā for Emma, redemptive with regards to his actions towards Bae, and because he is āfond ofā Henry and owes it to that kid not to screw up his life. Whether that directly brings Neal back or whether they are independent actions, I still think Hook is a goner by the end of 322. Am I the ONLY one on that bandwagon? It just makes sense to me, but I begin to question myself as I feel like I am floating out here all alone, lol.
You are not the only one on that bandwagon (I’m right there withĀ @Phee in believing Hook wasĀ the goner back when we heard the spoiler of doom and it was only for story reasons) but my problem is that I just don’t trust these two trolls anymore after 2+ years of unresolved plot holes, dropped stories, ridiculous gimmicks, and too many off camera conversations to actually pullĀ that big of a shockĀ off. I will gladly eat my words if the finale proves me wrong but I’m not counting on it at all. š

ParticipantHmm⦠Iām thinking of turning my last post into a larger meta. Would anyone be offended if I took some of your comments as further inspiration to expand upon? Now I have this meta rolling around in my head, as well as the Part 2 that discusses Swanfire. Add to that a really interesting video I watched last night about HIMYM asking the critical question of āDid HIMYM EARN itās finale?ā, which I think it a really good question to bring to OUaT. How many moments, especially major ones in this show, has it really EARNED. How many key points have actually been something that we have worked towards and felt real and genuine, instead of being explained away as āBecause PLOTā? Even with bizarre plot points or characters, how many of the moments we have seen with the characters have been consistent and purposeful to both the plot and the character? Iāll post the video tonight when Iām home from work (unless someone else has already seen it and knows the link). I have my own thoughts on the topic (and a page of notes already), but itās going to take me awhile to collect my thoughts on that one, but in the meantime I thought Iād put it out there.
I’m fine with you using anything I’ve said too although I don’t think I’ve said many useful things this week, LOL š
That second part of your paragraph about if OUAT has earned their big moments is a FASCINATING thing to think about and I’d loveĀ to chat about and read everyone’s thoughts on that topic. I could go into a massive post about that topic myself but I probably shouldn’t do that while I’m at work right now (and definitely not after I just got a raise and a positive annual review earlier this week, LOL). š
