Random News: Road to Paloma (MRJ’s upcoming movie that also stars Jason Mamoa) is screening at the Sarasota Film Festival on April 12th and you can actually buy tickets to go see it! I don’t think anyone here is close to Florida but I thought I’d throw that info out there this morning since the random OUAT news and photos today are giving me major WTH mojo right now, LOL 😆 (And maybe MRJ will attend the festival now that he’s not tied down to OUAT and we get some fun pics from this event)

I honestly don’t know what to think of those outfits but I do know that I have no trust in A&E to actually do anything surprising on this show so it probably doesn’t mean anything. 🙁

This whole thing just reeks of network or media interference to me and I’m sorry to say that (makes me sound cynical) but seriously, this has been almost like a different show since it came back from hiatus. It started off great and has been slowly going WTH ever since The Tower. It’s like they took everything from S3A and erased it so they can do S3B. That’s not the way ONE WHOLE SEASON works on TV guys. At least with seasons 1 & 2, the stories built on top of each other but this year has been one giant mess of weirdness at times. Networks are so desperate for ratings these days and my current theory as to what happened here is that they saw what was going on in the media and with the fans, then ABC stuck their noses in and told them what they needed to do to their show in order to secure a fourth season, so they caved in to all the pressure and got rid of ‘the problem’ (aka, Neal’s whole presence on the show). This is NOT the story they were writing just a few months ago in NL. There is SUCH a difference in between how the cast was on Twitter and in articles prior to this arc and how they all are now. Part of me seriously wonders if they were told of this new show direction and aren’t happy with it (hence the severe lack of tweets in the last week…silent protest) and part of me wonders if they’ve just lost their own spark for the show after almost three years and just don’t care that much anymore. It’s so odd but I can’t shake the feeling that SOMETHING has happened behind the scenes of this show that has totally tanked everyone and changed them from the wonderful fan friendly cast that they always were to this more quiet, subdued cast that doesn’t interact much anymore. I also wonder if the hatred and vitriol in the fandom has finally worn most of them down. The most active tweeters now are the more newish members and when the others are tweeting, they aren’t saying much about the show anymore. I don’t know. Maybe I’m reaching and still annoyed by how everything went down with Neal’s episode but something just isn’t right out there and I can’t put my finger on it. No way will MRJ or anyone else say anything though because I do believe they all have enough class to not bring the show down by airing any dirty laundry, but I can’t help wondering if things are going to hit the fan during the summer hiatus and we found out some interesting stories.
BTW-My week improved in one way (Elizabeth Mitchell’s character was NOT the death on Revolution last night. WOO HOO!) but didn’t in another (my Reds game last night was rain delayed SO long that we ended up having to leave early and then my favorite player on the team hit is 1000th hit in his first at bat so I MISSED IT. BOO HOO) so I’m still waiting for the good karma and vibes to come back this week. It’s been an emotionally draining one for me and I’m kind of glad I’m going out of town this weekend. I think it will allow me some time to recharge and finally exhale after what’s been a very long week.

It’s not so much that I have hope exactly, it’s more like my cynicism is so extreme that it’s gone full circle and I just can’t believe any part of the situation is believable in any way.
The death coupled with the picture of Rumple and Zelena from 318 pretty much makes my cynicism go: well of course this is all real. They have no idea what they’re doing anymore.
Yeah, I guess cynicism is a better word for it. It does reek of being written like some bad fan fiction story right now but I have no trust in these guys to do anything right anymore. I’m done hoping for the good guys to actually get written like they were back in S1 (smart, aware, bada$$, etc) and expect the villains to get all the happy endings.

I hate the way we got here too but HOLY CRAP, aside from the obvious sadness the last 100 pages, the friendships, support, and love that is also everywhere throughout these pages makes my heart happy. Love you all to pieces and I’m glad we all have each other to lean on right now. 🙂

#MoreBOOMLessGloomI am finally feeling a little more like my normal self today although I have realized that I will never stop missing Neal on my TV screen. They created an amazing character and in the span of 42+ minutes totally threw that down the crapper. I have moved from the grieving/sad place to the honked off and ready to smack anything around me phase. It sucks that Neal had such a horrible death preceded by completely OOC actions. It sucks that the worst writer on the staff is the one who got this job and did such an awful job with it. It sucks that the majority of the cast hasn’t tweeted anything to MRJ THREE DAYS after he left the show (says something when Michael Coleman and Sean Maguire are the only two people to say anything…MC of the drama he caused in the fall and Sean being the newest cast member). It sucks that Neal never got to see Henry and that Henry will never really know his dad. It REALLY sucks that A&E have made such light of this whole thing and think they actually did a ‘bold’ thing with the story. It sucks that MRJ won’t be on my TV anymore for a while (dude, seriously find an awesome show that allows your talent to shine and that I can watch every week again). The whole thing just SUCKS and I hate that I was misled on what this show is actually about: villains getting redeemed and the heroes looking like idiots.
Katie posted a great article on Twitter from someone who is also not happy about what the show has done and that person write an awesome editorial about how they feel the show has been taken over by the fans and media. I retweeted it on my own feed in case you guys want to read it and you really should because it sums up everything pretty perfectly and really takes you back to where things might have started going wrong this season. I said a long time ago that when showrunners start letting the fans or media dictate how their story goes, the shows are not going to stay on TV very long and it’s sad that I now can’t see OUAT getting past a 4th season. I think the ratings are going to be pretty interesting to see next week and it won’t surprise me at all if they drop. So many people are upset with the show (I have a few ‘non-spoiler, more casual fans of the show’ friends from Facebook and they were all upset with the story too) and I think it might surprise them how many people really start tuning out. The Rumple pic that was released yesterday might be the tipping point for the others in the fandom and when you lose the Rumple fans, you’re going to lose a LOT of viewers.
BTW-It’s great that some fans still have hope that he might be back later in the season (I agree that it could happen but I don’t have much hope for that) but I’m not sure I want them to even try that with Neal. I remember on Lost when Juliet died at the end of season five (dude, I cried for 20 minutes straight when she died and then it took me like three days to even start to recover so I know this feeling of loss all too well with these showrunners), it was so heartbreaking because she shared a horrific and sad goodbye with her true love, Sawyer and then fell down a dark hole into blackness right before helping detonate a bomb. That heartbreak was so shocking and upsetting to me that I really had to mourn that loss for a while to get past it (she was my fave on there and ironically, she never got her ‘happy ending’ either). At the start of season six, not only did they randomly, SOMEHOW, have her live through that atomic bomb going off right next to her head (the heck….), they also had her DIE IN SAWYER’S ARMS while he bawled his eyes out. It felt like a gut punch to me ALL OVER AGAIN and that’s the thing I haven’t been able to let go of with Lost….they literally killed her TWICE in brutal ways for the fans and I am horrified at the thought of them doing something like that to Neal. I don’t wish that for him, Henry, or Emma and I would be mortified if they tried something like that with Neal.
I am now three episodes into Terriers and this show is SO awesome. I’m trying not to burn through them too fast because I know there are only 13 eps to watch but it’s just so good that I keep wanting to watch more of it every day. It really is helping me move past what Once has become and helping me remember that there are still great TV shows out there if I’m willing to look harder for them. I don’t know if any other show will capture my heart like Once did in S1 (Chicago Fire is probably the closest thing for me right now but I actually go into that show every week knowing someone could die….it’s the nature of a firefighter show that bad things happen almost every week) but eventually I’m going to feel better and remember my favorite episodes instead of the bad (Manhattan, Tallahassee sans Hook). It’s the mourning process right now that just needs to run it’s course.
Love all of you a bunch. Thanks for checking in those of you who are probably checking out of the show now (please don’t be too much of a stranger @KFChemira) and I’m glad we’re all starting to heal more through this whole thing. Who would have thought we’d end up being so close to a 1000 pages after just breaking 900 not that long ago?! It’s a shame we got there via tragedy though. 🙁

This is where I am too. I do enjoy the Knave but dang, it feels like a kick to the stomach as a Neal fan. 🙁 It does feel like an April Fool’s Day joke too and to be fair, the other sources are all quoting EW for their original information so EW could still be pulling a fast one on everyone. I guess we’ll see where this goes but it just makes me sadder.
BTW-Agree whole heartedly with all the above posts that have been very close to making me bawl while sitting at my work desk today. Here I thought I’d get through a day without crying guys, LOL 😆 Y’all have an amazing way with words and dang, their story could have been SO beautiful and poetic but they threw it all in the trash for whatever stupid reasons. MRJ deserved SO much better than that and I have to think that them changing their story so much probably allowed him to come to a peace about this crap a while ago. He’s been an actor for a long time and he’s definitely not stupid. He probably saw the writing on the wall but give him credit, he never bashed the show and he probably never will either. Pure class. Mikey was awfully concise and ready with his comments when he posted them yesterday too so that kind of tells me even more that he was just waiting for the right time to talk to his fans after making his own peace with everything.
Stupid writers….I will probably never stop being bitter about this whole thing. 🙁
#MoreBOOMLessGloomI JUST finished reading that post on Tumblr a little while ago and I think I even reblogged it. It’s an EXCELLENT post and I’m thankful for all these people who have put my feelings about this whole thing into words so much better than I ever could. I really do think A&E don’t rewatch their own show after it airs. They don’t seem to remember half the stuff that happened in S2 and that wasn’t all that long ago. Fans can remember facts and actual CANON stuff that happened better than them and that’s pretty sad. If you’re not going to refer back to any of it later, why set things up early and then just drop them by the wayside?! 🙁
That confession you posted is the main reason I don’t want to change my avatar. I love Emma’s big goofy smile that she only ever had with Neal and I want to remember her that way.
