Sadly, though, the Tin Woodman never gets his happy ending. He meets another Tin man who had fallen in love with the same woman and was also cursed by the witch. They go off to find her only to discover that she’s moved on with a third man and is happily married. Poor guys.

Um, not really because Emma might have been happy for a while but she’s now learned that her great guy was an evil flying monkey so that pairing didn’t end in any sort of happy way at all, LOL 😆

#MoreBOOMLessGloomI had an idea do you guys know the Oz story of the Tin Man Originally an ordinary man by the name of Nick Chopper (the name first appearing in The Marvelous Land of Oz), the Tin Woodman used to make his living chopping down trees in the forests of Oz, as his father had before him. The Wicked Witch of the East enchanted his axe to prevent him from marrying the girl that he loved, after being bribed by the lazy old woman who kept the girl as a servant, and did not wish to lose her. Some parallels?
Maybe but I don’t know about parallels with that story because that might require something like Neal having to have visited Oz before for the history and I really don’t think he’s been there.
New head canon: We discover in the next episode that the WW not only has the pendant for her random weird collection of token Oz items but she also took Neal’s heart because he was trying to help Rumple and got in her way. Neal remembers that he doesn’t have his heart so he’s been avoiding everyone in SB because he doesn’t know if the WW is controlling him or not. They finally meet up with Neal in the forest and he tells them what all he remembers (not sure how the curse affects him without his heart but maybe his memories stay because of that?). He says that he doesn’t have his heart and should be locked up away from everyone in case the WW tries to make him do something bad (maybe she all ready did in the EF stuff that we see in later episodes). Regina suggests using the sleeping curse instead and making the WW think that Neal died so his heart wouldn’t be of any use to her and then he also wouldn’t be able to do her bidding or hurt anyone while he’s missing his heart. They put him to sleep at the end of 3×15 (and please give us emo Emma moments at least if Neal can’t feel anything!) and Emma promises that she’ll get his heart back and reunite him with everyone including Henry and Rumple. Ep 3×16 then has the fake funeral for Neal while he stays asleep hidden in the back room of Gold’s shop where Belle can watch over him. Everyone goes through whatever random things in the next few episodes and then we get to 3×20, Kansas, which turns out to be a parallel story of Neal in the past trying to find Emma (and the ‘bad things’ that he was warned about start happening to him….maybe he ends up in jail at some point while looking for her?) and the present of Emma and the group racing to get to Neal’s heart before the witch figures out that they tricked her. The end of that episode is Neal in the past giving up on finding Emma because of the bad things while Emma in the present returns Neal’s heart to him and wakes him up with TLK (and then we all melt into a thousand years of feels). Then they head into the two finale episodes united as one group to fight the WW. I have quite a few other details in this whole scenario but my manager has been lurking around all day and it took a ton of sneaking on my part just to get this much posted for you guys, LOL 😆

MY FEELS!!! 😀 I really hope we’re on the right track with this and just from the preview alone, I think we’re really onto something here. My only question mark is WHY and hopefully that gets answered in the WW centric (3×16). Her motives and overall plan are what mess me up with this whole thing. I’m not sure how I feel about Rumple being the scarecrow instead of Belle (I’m stuck on him being the Wizard like figure) but it does make sense and could work out really well too. I like the idea of Emma having to go on a journey to find those token items because it’s also kind of a reverse from the Oz story where Dorothy goes on a journey WITH her characters and trying to find her way home. By looking for and finding those tokens for the three most important men in her life and in some cases helping them find something tangible (i.e. Neal’s heart), Emma will also be figuring out what home means to her and actually finding her way back home to her family. This journey could be a pretty awesome thing to watch and again, if they hadn’t released the spoiler of doom, this story would be SO MUCH MORE enjoyable because that just hovers over everything like a dark cloud. No way is Neal the death though…not if this theory works out and honestly, I will very much enjoy seeing a few people on Tumblr who have given a few friends of mine a lot of hardship over these last few months brought down from their high horse if things work out the way we think they will for the rest of the season. Nothing like a tooly person being brought down a peg or twenty by the actual story playing out on screen, LOL 😉
And one last thing: Just thinking about Emma having to actually find Neal’s heart again and possibly help give it back to him makes me warm and fuzzy inside. He all ready gave his heart to her a long time ago and if she’s the key towards him getting it back later this season, THAT would make me buy the S3 DVD in a heartbeat and would also give me a SF reunion that I would be watching over and over and over again for a very long time! 😀

Agreed. That is an awesome post. You literally have to take the spoilers out of everything and not let the outside voices get to you right now to see the bigger story that they seem to be telling on the show. This is one of those times that I actually wish I didn’t know as much as I do (thought we barely saw any outdoor scenes again in this episodes aside from the farm house stuff so Phee and I’s theory about outdoor stuff not being the most important stuff still stands) and I really REALLY wish they hadn’t released the spoiler of doom now. I am remaining FULL OF HOPE that this story is going in a good direction and I will live for the day when they kick the crap out of that WW (seriously, she has GOT to go all ready). 😀

Gah. I think I would find this season much more enjoyable without the spoiler of doom looming over everything. At any rate, I really like RG’s theory and I think she might be right after tonight’s episode. The WW does seem to be ‘collecting’ things that represent traits from certain characters and taking David’s courage makes him very lion like but in a reverse way. If that pattern holds (which is certainly looks like it does from the promo), then Neal is the Tin Man (heart) and Belle is the scarecrow (brains) and she’s going to do something to each of them in that episode taking that quality from them. I also agree that Neal’s probably being controlled the WW and I bet that’s why he hasn’t been seen…he either knows his heart is gone but can’t do anything about it or he’s being controlled by the WW and is trying to fight back by staying out of sight. I don’t really know which way that’s going but my question now is why does she need those things? Is it for some type of spell? What is her endgame here and what the heck is trying to do?! It’s all very vague at the moment but I think 3×16 may be the big episode to figure out what exactly she’s up to with this whole plan.
This sounds like it could be an amazing story IF THEY DO IT RIGHT. The lion, tin man, and scarecrow are VITAL characters to the Oz story and are also very important characters in Dorothy’s life. If Dorothy is Emma (which seems to be the consensus at this point), then NONE of these people are the spoiler of doom because that would seriously kill the hope in the story and take away from this Oz type of experience they’re doing in S3B. David will need to do something to get his courage back, Belle will need to use her smarts to help defeat the witch, and Neal will have to find a way to help without having his heart (though I really like the idea that the WW also takes a symbol of his heart in SB and has the pendent). They will all have to work together to beat her. Everyone seems to have a trait or characteristic from the Oz story except Hook…..and I don’t want to type this but he’s definitely the wild card here without an Oz persona and I think he will have to sacrifice his life in the end to help save everyone (perhaps even to save Neal’s heart). No way is Neal going to be the spoiler of doom though IF WE’RE RIGHT and I think we’re all on the right track right now. Again, if they do this right, this could be an amazing story so I REALLY hope they don’t eff this thing up!
BTW-Think about it….Emma as Dorothy may have to literally put Neal’s heart back inside his body for him. That’s like, the most porn type thing this show can do in the 8 PM hour for it’s couples 😉 and if we get that moment between them in the finale, then this ENTIRE MISERABLE spoiler of doom will be forgotten by me because that is BEYOND anything we could have ever dreamed for a SF reunion! Oh gosh, PLEASE let us be right….

I hate having to spoiler out that whole thing because most of it wasn’t a spoiler but I still don’t think the spoiler thing works inside the quote one (which still annoys me, LOL). At any rate, I literally JUST read that and reblogged it on Tumblr and I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree with Schmacky there. I am seriously not even thinking in shipping terms about that spoiler of doom anymore…the message that would send to the audience would be SO contradictory to the overall message they’ve been preaching for three years that it would cause me to stop watching the show too.
