It would say that it was a bad relationship for Emma. It has been written as a bad relationship. They are not true loves and Emma has lost part of herself by being with Hook. If this show made sense they would break up. This show does not make sense so that will not happen. I am not saying that what is logical will happen, but what would be well written and logical exists outside of what is actually happening on the show.
I have seen many shows where characters date for years and then break up because relationships don’t work out, people change, people want different things out of life. It is not a stretch. Their relationship is toxic and should not exist. If this show was about characters that were written like real people, then that is what would happen.
Also, Emma and Hook have only been dating two seasons, not three, or two and a half now, sort of and it has been what six months in timeline, so it isn’t the end all, be all of relationships. Also, this is the safe place where we can say that Emma being with Hook is bad and we want her to be with Neal because guess what they make way more sense then Emma being with Hook.

I agree. Emma, Regina, Snow/Charming, and Rumpel are the only characters whose leaving would really cause a new direction for the show. This could all be much ado about nothing though and ABC is just trying to get people to talk about Ouat right now.

I disagree. I think the writers of Once care alot about the fans. In interviews, I think it is obvious to hear that they care for the fanbase of Once. Maybe too much even- that is part of the reason their storylines gets so screwed up sometimes, because they try to give the fans everything they want. Or atleast they try to give us lots of stuff.. To some fans (myself included all that stuff is just too much) to other fans, the stuff is just the wrong thing, because they wished for something else… but the writers can not please everyone.
I think that the writers have attempted to cater to the fans to keep viewers watching the show. I don’t think the writers care about the fans. As i have said elsewhere, i think they believe there fans are nothing but a bunch of insane, screaming fifteen year old girls and they talk about their fans like they are that. Adam is disrespectful on twitter. They are both disrespectful in interviews at times. They write as if their audience is stupid instead of actually writing a well thought out, character driven plot.
Though, they are bad writers as well. They do not keep track of their world building and so the show makes no sense and the characters act like morons. The lack of consistency around the sleeping curse and true loves kiss has become such a problem for the show over the years. The writers of this show don’t think we want flawed consistent characters, well thought out plots, good and consistent world building. They think we want hot couples kissing and having babies.
It is the only thing that makes sense because Emma and Hook’s relationship has been written as the worst thing that has ever happened to Emma. This is the swanfire appreciation thread, where we appreciate swanfire and not captain swan.
I think that Regina is the best bet as a character to keep around, but really they could get rid of any of them at this point. The entire show has been on repeat for a long time now, so they can do whatever, in my opinion.
It might all be outside of any sense of story logic anyways because if an actor wants out then the show just has to write around it.
I was not sarcastic or joking. Jennifer wants off the show and that is what she said. I could see her doing another season as an ending for Emma, but that is it. I understand that you guys disagree because you only see what you want to see and are unable to understand what the actor is just trying to say in a nice way, but she wants off the show. She doesn’t have it in her to do it forever and she has to do what is best for her life. Sure, she said nice things about the show first, but in conclusion, she is ready to move on. Agree to disagree. That is what she said though. She has been done for awhile. This comes as no surprise to anyone, just like Bobby wanting off the show should come as no surprise to anyone.
Robert, Jennifer, and Ginny have all had problems with the show for years, but they had a contract.
There we go. Jennifer wants off the show, but she can’t make a decision because she doesn’t even know if there will be a show next year.
I think the only thing that will make sense for this show is for Emma to leave Hook and grow old with her family and Henry and when she dies years from now to then find Neal again in the afterlife. There is no reason to care about the fans. The writers of this show do not care about the fans. Story wise the only thing that actually makes sense is for Emma and Hook to break up and never speak again. That isn’t going to happen, but that is the only thing that makes sense for Emma as a character.
I would be in favor of them dropping Stroybrooke or just having Stroybrooke be in the Enchanted Forest instead of the real world. They should have done that in Season 3 or at least done an open portal. I like Storybrooke, but the problems it causes by separating characters from each other just needs to end.
