I doubt that Emma is going to Agrabah. They are having her spend multiple episodes with Regina stuck in the wish realm. We can really hope that they don’t have her then be stuck with Hook in Agrabah for multiple episodes. It is more likely that Aladdin and Jasmine just return to Storybrooke. Emma and Hook can have an arc or go on an adventure without it having to be in another realm.

I think that name calling is the only thing that should be moderated for. It is just how i think because i pretty much think moderation, in general, is inappropriate if it stops the conversation because conversation is the most important thing on a discussion forum, only behind it being inappropriate to call people names.
I understand that there is not going to be agreement about Hook on this forum, but the only problems in that thread was the name calling. In my opinion, that is what should be stopped. I just do not understand the decision to always end the most discussed topic about Ouat just because people disagree, instead of specifically tell people to stop name calling.
I understand that moderators are going to do what they are going to do and there is nothing i can do about it. The only thing i can do is say what i think about it. Thanks for hearing.
That is the problem with all the couples on this show. Once characters are part of a couple, they stop having a personality. They are just this weird, unrealistic, unit, instead of flawed people with wants who make mistakes and make choices outside of their unit. It is bad writing. That is all it is.
Well for me Hook just needs to not be on the show. I realize this is never going to happen, but him being on the show has pretty much killed Emma’s character. I want Emma to be a character again and change and grown and care about her parents and her son. I want her to be able to talk to other characters more instead of to Hook. Since he has no real story, whenever something happens to Emma, Hook is interjected into it because otherwise he would not be doing anything at all.
Pretty much, i just want Emma to be the center of the story again, instead of being off to the side having to talk to Hook so that he has screen time. I want her to instead be part of all the action again in a more real way. Like i said, it isn’t going to happen. But Emma is my favorite character and the only way to fix the problems with her character is for her to stop wasting so much time going in circles with Hook, having pointless conversations that never change anything and are illogical.
The characters no longer feel like real people. That is the problem with the show in a sentence. People do not behave the way the characters on this show behave. At the beginning of Season 2 Snow would die and kill for Emma, then in the last episode she is willing to risk Emma and everyone in the town to save Regina. Hook behaved like a misogynistic, sexist, pig in Season 2 and then he is randomly kissing and then dating Emma later on in the season. Emma spends her entire life wanting to find her parents and to have family and then once she does she spends no time getting to know them and is fine moving out without even a discussion. Regina was a abusive psycho mother in Season 1 and 2 then randomly she is accepted as part of the family by the family she has been trying to murder for years and years.
People don’t act like that. Sure people can be erratic and don’t always say the right thing, but the characters on this show come across as insane and stupid because they are so inconsistent. They waffle back and forth from one episode to the next. They are completely rewritten between seasons as if the writers forgot everything that the characters did in the season before. It just makes no sense.
I don’t think that there is any way that Hook can date Emma and it make sense. The only way is if Hook was from the beginning written as a completely different character then he was. He could not be the horrible, gross, misogynistic character that he was written as in Season 2 and date Emma. There is also no way that Neal could be alive and he and Emma not be together, not as the show was written since the beginning. Emma’s anger at Neal in Season 1, the way she talked about him back then, what happened with Bae and Rumpel, Emma and Neal falling in love in Tallahassee, them meeting again in Manhattan. If Neal was alive as he was written in the show, then he and Emma would be together.
The only way to change those two things and the show still be coherent and good and would be to completely rewrite those two characters from the beginning. That is why they killed off Neal. It just doesn’t work. A writer can’t make one plan and then change their mind mid show and then have the narrative make sense. The narrative of this show does not make sense and it never will because, as written, Emma would never date Hook.
I definitely agree that if Hook had continued as Rumpel’s nemesis, the true love of Milah aka Neal’s mother, Captain Hook of Neverland, pirate connection, cohort of Cora, then maybe there could have been something there. The thing is that all of that was just wiped away at the end of Season 2 when they changed Hook’s character. In Season 2 he was one character and then suddenly they got the rights to do Neverland as an arc and suddenly they rewrote him, then reintroduced him as this completely different character in Season 3.
Hook is boring and serves no purpose, has no connection, does nothing for the characterization of the show. He is just there to stand next to Emma and sometimes to serve as a place holder in scenes of exposition when necessary. He is just there so that the important characters can sometimes talk to someone, aka the audience, while still keeping things from the characters that matter. Emma and Belle and Henry and Charming talk to Hook because they are hiding things from other characters or figuring out things about the relationships in their lives that matter and because sometiens there are things the writers need to tell the audience. They could replace Hook in any of those conversations and it wouldn’t matter if it was him or not. It could be anyone. Except the ones about Emma and Hook’s romantic relationship, which as others have said, not everyone finds interesting.
Seriously what is it with the characters go evil without their romantic partner? That should not be a thing. This curse is going to go on too long for sure.
I think there has been progression for Hook with Henry and Charming, but it is only from i can’t stand to be in a room with you, to fine you are here, i want my mother or daughter to be happy, so let’s get along for that. That is not friendship. I know that relationship and have had relationships like that. It is not friendship. It is acceptance of the situation. Also, Henry said something like let’s not push it when Hook tried to suggest he was family because guess what he is not. Also, someone can be part of your family and you not like them at all. Aka, Rumpel.
It is also not biased to just have a different point of view then someone else. My point of view is not invalid and is based on the actual things happening in the show.
Also, Rumpel is not part of the group. He is ostracized to the extreme and only used when they need magical help. Regina is not dating the protagonist of the show. I also don’t think Regina should date anyone nor should she be around Henry just like Hook and have had extensive conversations about that topic.
All the stuff i named was stuff that Hook did to Emma in Season 2 and 3. He is a sleazy, gross, degrading rapist and acted like it to Emma and her mother and the other female characters on the show. He still makes crude comments when Henry going on dates is brought up. He is gross. He tried to kill Emma and Snow in the Enchanted Forest as well as almost ran off with the bean at the end of Season 2. Who cares if it happened before they were dating? Those things happened and because they happened, they should not be dating. That is the point. A gross, misogynistic character like Hook should not date Emma, the protagonist, savior, good guy of the show. It makes no sense. Emma is no longer the person she used to be. She is less and as long as she dates someone as gross as Hook she will never be what she used to be.
If this show made sense then that is where the show would be going. Emma has looked like she was dying ever since she started dating Hook. I keep waiting for the scene where someone tells Emma that Hook left and she says i’m free. That should be the end to this awful relationship. Character should build story and Emma dating Hook is out of character. That is because plot is the story on this show, so the characters are out of character all the time in service to the plot.
Instead of them breaking up and Hook leaving they are going to get engaged and probably married in the next season.
My dislike for Hook does extend beyond because he is just Emma’s boyfriend. He is not only just Emma’s boyfriend and completely unconnected from all the other characters, he is a terrible boyfriend. He has treated Emma like crap and on multiple occasions almost been responsible for her death and the death of her family. Also, he is sleazy and a rapist and characters don’t come back from that on a tv show. They don’t come back from that and then date and marry the protagonist. He is a terrible character and should have died a long time ago.
I agree though with the other posters. No one is changing anyone’s minds here. I have watched the show and i see what i see and others have watched the show and think other things happened. It is what it is at this point.
The entire episode where Henry and Hook went down to the sub was pretty much Henry disliking Hook. They were better off at the end then the beginning, but they still weren’t friends. Charming has never been Hook’s friend. He just in this half said something like he just wants Emma to be happy, which is the party line for the group. They just want Emma to be happy. They are not friends with Hook.
Belle has no one and is barely a character in her own right, so her talking to Hook is meaningless. They are never going to be friends in any real sense. They have conversations. They are not friends.
