ParticipantMorpheus is the guy under the hood? How is that interesting? I am not convinced any of what they are filming is real. It could just be another weird vision.

ParticipantI was thinking William was the board member.
I thought it was interesting that there was a part of the park that wasn’t being used, as in maybe the guests become bored of it, where Dr Ford met with that woman and then they just tore it down. I also thought it was interesting how the workers sent in the cavalry to take care of the violence happening in the town because a family was coming in. We are seeing so much of the violence and horror of what happens in this world, that to see these mundane things and kid friendly things was interesting to me.
I keep wondering if the Man in Black is an actual real person. In this episode we saw a guest who knew him from the outside world, but is that real?
Dr Ford became much more interesting in this episode, every time they show him, you just know there is more going on there. I am looking forward to seeing what he is building.

ParticipantI can’t believe they are having a Hook flashback. Just why? Are they really going to have some connection to Hook with what is happening now? Also, what happened to the season of Snowing? Yeah right, is what happened.

ParticipantIt is probably just the porch of Emma’s house. Save us all from what that could mean.

ParticipantCan there just not be an Emma and Hook true love’s kiss? So far, at least, we haven’t had to endure that. It does seem likely. I am still hoping that the true love’s kiss is between Rumpel and Belle this year even though i am not a fan of them.

ParticipantAdam just needs to get off twitter. There could easily be two different sultans for two different kingdoms and it not matter.

ParticipantIf I had to guess, I’d he’s become disillusioned with “real” people–why else would anyone go to that amount of effort and trouble to create such realistic AI’s if not because they find the real world and its people so repugnant? He’s the one who has given all the updates to make them more realistic, the little human touches like touching one’s lips, that seemed to cause the initial breakdown. Is he trying to set up his own human race and declare himself its god? I suspect there’s more nuance to it than that, but that’s all I got so far.
I think it is something like this two. Also, i think an incident with the robots was mentioned as happening in the past, so he has been playing at this for awhile. Maybe that incident caused damage or death of people they cared about.

ParticipantI don’t want spoilers, so if people are going to post them, i hope they can let us know.
I think the director is the most interesting character right now. What has happened to him and what is he trying to figure out? I am assuming he has lost someone, maybe even created a robot like them. I think Dolores is fascinating as the oldest robot and her channeling the Shakespearean serial killer last episode for a moment was crazy interesting. Maybe she can somehow read everyone’s memories.
The evil guy trying to find the underbelly of the game is also interesting. Is he looking for a robot that was decommissioned? I think if he finds that room full of old robots that are standing there conscious for some unknown reason, that it will not go well for him. Also, how big is the place for him to be unaware of anything after going there for ten years? And why does he get whatever he wants? Possibly a second original owner like the director?
When Maev, the prostitute, started running through the behind the scenes area, all i could think was she is going to see this and have this information and if it could be share it would be useful. Also, it will be interesting when Dolores quits hiding and meets the director. There is something there.
All around, fascinating premise. I can’t wait for me.

ParticipantI think that they think that everyone on twitter is a screaming fifteen year old girl wearing a pink princess shirt and can therefore be dismissed.
This is the most accurate depiction I think anyone’s ever given about Adam & Eddy. They believe that they’re thriving off of twilight fan girls and neglect to see that there are actual adults watching the show. I’m not too sure on ratings wise, but I think people in their mid to late twenties and above are watching this series, and the declining ratings clearly show that the General Audience are displeased with the storytelling. Baiting and shoving ships down everyone’s throats is not the way to run a show, and it’s terribly sad when your main character is more associated with a ship than as their own person with their own story and journey. Snow White and Charming are now simply referred to as Snowing, who Adam and Eddy believe they can just kill two birds with one stone by making every one of their storylines put together. Colin O’Donoghue better be glad for his above than average looks because that is what’s selling Captain Hook, who if separated from Emma Swan, what would be his purpose? That was the same situation with Robin Hood, who also due to poor and neglected storytelling, couldn’t stand on his own as a character without piggy banking along with Zelena right off of Regina.
Without a doubt most of the audience of this show is adults over 25 and the writers seem to have no awareness of this fact. Or they consider any woman younger then them to be some crazed twilight like fan. They are angering their target audience with every tweet, every interview, and every episode and don’t get it. I am not convinced they ever will get it.
I just can’t believe they’re going to let Gwen stay magically roofied….I just can’t! And Merlin, he would’ve been a great asset to have in Storybrooke! How they treated their characters were beyond disturbing, and it is the reason why I’m so nervous for them to be toying with Aladdin and Jasmine!
It is almost like the writers need to have a cork board with all the characters they are using for a season on a card and have written where each character is at at that moment. Instead, they introduce a character and then by the next week have completely forgotten about them. I know that writing is hard and that keeping everything straight and consistent is hard, but they have to do better. They will make mistakes, everyone does, but it is to the point of insanity now.

ParticipantI think that’s exactly right. And the idea that the opinion of a 15 year old girl wearing a pink princess shirt is something to dismiss off hand is also really telling of the sorts of attitudes A&E hold. I think the other problem — and it’s hard to distinguish it from the audience thing — is that A&E are actually pretty bad writers. They don’t seem to be able to deal with moral ambiguity with any sort of nuance, and somewhere along the way they’ve stopped addressing the fact that most of their characters are deeply problematic. I think most of the truly thoughtful, engaged core audience you’re describing that the show has inspired to create a world of fan-made art and products around OUAT wouldn’t be as thoroughly disgusted if A&E allowed for that ambiguity to be front and center. This could have taken the form of a reflection on the characters — that all of them are deeply flawed and are battling their own demons, and that’s what this show is about. Or it could have been a core part of the plot: fairytales are by nature didactically moralistic because they are simplifications, but we are going to show the real complicated, gray area stuff that happens in reality. But instead we get this tedious pandering to ships, horrid plot, and a bunch of lies from two supposedly grown men, peppered with complete and utter inability to take criticism or even address head on the inconsistencies or failed promises of their story (re: Anastasia).
Agree completely. It is like the producers have this mindset that everyone online can be dismissed and don’t seem to be understanding that they are dismissing all women. Dismissing the fifteen year old is dismissing all of us, in my opinion. Thanks for watching, says Adam, all the time in response to real criticism.
They are terrible writers. There is no excuse for the terrible characterization and continuity. The lack of ability to keep track of anything at all. I think your idea was what they intended, to write real characters, just in a fairytale setting. They have failed in every way because they seem to have no grasp of the human experience outside of their white, male view point and even that is written outside of reality in the stylized tropes of the past, the bad boy, the prince charming. It is just terrible. There is no excuse for any of it.
