ParticipantThey don’t look like they are filming there to me.

ParticipantI really hope that it isn’t Aladdin and Jasmine that were cast. I was looking forward to Sinbad and Scheherezade. I have always found those stories pretty fascinating and with the introduction of the new untold stories, storybook, i was hoping we might see them. Sadly, i think you guys are probably right and it is more likely that it is just Aladdin and Jasmine. That is pretty disappointing.

ParticipantYeah, Sleepy’s defining characteristic of Ouat is falling asleep while watching people, so it does seem silly for Merida to leave Sleepy to watch Arthur, though i don’t really remember that happening. Maybe right before Arthur gets killed by Hades. I just know they recast Gaston and they looked so much alike i wouldn’t have known he was recast if people weren’t talking about it. I never liked the recast of Robin, but that is just mostly because i don’t like the character all that much and because the new actor was too different from the old one. They pretty much just created an entirely different character because there is no way the original character that was Robin was the same person that was Robin after he was recast. They just behaved, spoke, accent, characterizations, everything was different. I think the behavior of the original Robin was more interesting and actually someone that Regina would have been more interested in way more then the silly willy Robin they created once he was recast.
Recasting Dopey, who has never spoken on the show, would i think have no impact on the show. Dopey is not important, only in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs sort of way, but as a character and actor he is completely unimportant to the show and could easily be recast or just left off and it wouldn’t matter. Just my opinion.

ParticipantAll the talk of dwarfs a few pages back. First it is Dopey and Bashful who never speak. Sleepy had a few lines in Season 1. He worked at the hospital when Charming woke up from his coma and wandered off into the woods. Emma spoke to Sleepy and helped find Charming. He has had other lines as well. Doc has also had line, when Emma was born in the first episode, as well as at other times throughout the show. I would easily say Grumpy is the most known dwarf, followed by Sneezy who had lines as Mr Clark, then Doc who was in important scenes surrounding Emma’s birth, then Sleepy who has had lines in multiple scenes in Season 1, then Happy who might have had one line, then Dopey who was turned into a tree, then Bashful who has never spoken or done anything.
I think they could easily recast Dopey and it wouldn’t matter at all. They could also just have there be six dwarfs and no one would notice. But honestly another short guy with a purple hat and who would care.

ParticipantI also think it just depends on when the last season is for when Emma and Hook get married. The only way they don’t get married is if the show just gets cancelled without foreknowledge. I actually think that could happen because it seems pretty clear that writers just want to keep going til they get cancelled, they no longer have any sort of plan really for the show.

ParticipantNothing that happened in the last season will ever be brought up again. Regina might be sad about Robin being dead, but even that, who really knows. There will be no fall out from the last season. That has happened and the writers will just move on to something else because they don’t know how to connect one season to the next, they just reset or completely rewrite the characters between seasons. Emma may be happily skipping around town at the beginning of the next season, for all we know. She and Hook may have moved in together and be making coffee and meeting her parents at the diner for breakfast, going on group patrols together. This show is that stupid.

ParticipantPeople don’t round up their kids ages though. The drinking age is 18 in Storybrooke. The show is just so inconsistent about all of these things. Just think about all of the dumb captions they have about when something happened. The are all wrong. The writer and editors just don’t keep track of anything.

ParticipantEmma was in juvy. Her records were sealed because she was in juvy. So what? That doesn’t make Neal way older then her.
See right there is the inconsistence in the writing, they said emma was in Juvie in S1, but they say she was in Juvie in 1996, when she was 13, and then August mentions prison to neal, not juvie, he says to neal “she got 11 months on a low level security facility”. So shows the same inconsistences in the writing, what they had for s1, on next seasons doesnt fit.
I don’t disagree that there is an inconsistency in the writing. I really think that Emma has only said that she was 18 one time, when she was talking to Ella, and that was during Season 1 when Emma always lied about Henry’s birth and who his father was. All the other information points to Emma really being 17. Don’t get me wrong, the writers are idiots. They didn’t really think about what they were writing at the time, like they don’t think about anything.
Though, i really do think that it is all completely irrelevant because, like i said, Emma and Neal’s relationship was one of equals in every way and that is what matters.

ParticipantIt is exactly that the writers think. That we don’t “get” the show. They think we are too stupid to understand what they are writing. That is the problem. It is never going to get better, if anything the show has gotten so much worse, in their attempt to make us “get” the show.

ParticipantI think Emma was 17 when she gave birth to Henry since he was 10 in the pilot and she had just turned 28 that day. I don’t think it matters though. Neal could have been the same age. Neal could have been 17. The age of the actors has no baring on the discussion. Also, even if Emma was 17 and Neal was 18, that is very different then 17 and 40. That wasn’t there age difference. They are supposed to be around the same age, close in age, so the discussion is moot. Emma was in juvy. Her records were sealed because she was in juvy. So what? That doesn’t make Neal way older then her.
Also, the important issue was that there was no power dynamic between the two of them. They were both street kids, stealing, sleeping in cars, before they met. Neal didn’t somehow use her because she was a few years younger then him. He didn’t drag her down to a dark path. If anything, they were going to settle down, stop stealing, and be a family together. If August hadn’t shown up, that is what would have happened. The arguments are crap because Emma and Neal’s relationship was one of equals and that is the most important thing.
