ParticipantTo me, Greek mythology and such is still in the realm of fantasy. And regardless of what Frankenstein may have been considered at the time, i would consider it science fiction horror and to me science fiction is outside of the realm of what they should do in fact. They can nod at the science fiction, but should not actually have those characters be those people.

ParticipantRumpel is chaotic violent that is the thing, Regina is focused violent. And while focused violent is certainly more dangerous to the family at the moment, i think in the long run they could change that focus. Regina and Snow may find a way to have peace between them. I don’t know if i even want that to happen, but because that is the main storyline, Regina and Snow and what is between them sort of being the causer of what has happened, even though Rumpel is also behind it and is at fault for it as well, still the story of Regina and Snow is something that i think the writers will want to work towards changing.
I mean they can never be friends, too much has happened, but potential allies against Rumpel and his chaotic evil violence i think makes sense to me.
I do think that good shows show the big bad at the beginning, so that leaves Regina, Rumpel and possibly the Blue Fairy. If they want to make it the Blue Fairy that could be interesting with her being the original evil and have both Regina and Rumpel working for the family especially if Bae is the father. Though i do still like the idea that they kill Belle and Rumpel go off the deep in. Who knows though.

ParticipantYes, i like how you said that. This is fantasy and not science fiction.

ParticipantI disagree. I think that Regina is clearly the family’s biggest threat at this moment, but long game Rumpel is. Rumpel is frightening because he just kills people carelessly just because they are there. Regina kills people because she is trying to kill them. Regina is more volatile most of the time, but Rumpel is just as dangerous. I just think end game Rumpel is the biggest threat and Regina could do something to help save Henry. The problem is that Rumpel doesn’t care about the family at all, he wouldn’t even think of them except for the fact that he is using them. Regina cares very much, the problem is that it is all negative.
And don’t get me wrong, i think Regina should get whats coming to her and i don’t think that she should ever be friends with the family, but help them fight against Rumpel in the long game, yeah sure.

ParticipantEp 1 Emma with ensemble. Ep 2 is Regina. Ep 3 Snow. Ep 4 Rumpel. Ep 5 Whale. Ep 6 Emma.
Rumpel has always been involved in most eps, but i just don’t think he is going to be any more involved. He has always been involved.

ParticipantI actually am not convinced at all that they are going to focus more on Rumpel then they did before. There has been no evidence that that is the case. It seems like he is going to be doing the same thing, doing deals with people, using people, giving them information, like he did before. If Bae is the father, then i don’t think Rumpel is going to know it right away and i also think that is going to have a lot more to do with Emma and Henry then with Rumpel.
I just don’t think in the end the focus of the show has changed from what it was in Season 1.

ParticipantAnd even though Rumpel took the Beasts place that doesn’t mean that story was non mythical. It is still in the realm of what the show is about. Honestly i think vampires are out simply because of all the vampire stuff there is. Even on Buffy when they had Dracula they made fun of him. Talking wolves have been part of many mythical stories so making Red the wolf does not seem so much of a stretch. She is cursed to turn into a wolf.
Also there are so lines in the sand. They have said stuff like not bring people back from the dead already. All good world building has lines in the sand that is what makes it good.
They certainly existed in LOST. The only abilities people had were things like in peoples minds, talking to the dead and whatever Walt was doing, astroprojecting or whatever that was. No one ever through fire from their hands or anything. I don’t think that would have worked for that world where the biggest mystery was the island.
PS. When did they say they would bring comic book characters?

ParticipantSeason 2 is not going to focus on Rumpel and his relationships.

ParticipantI disagree that anything from any book is fair game. I think they have to keep it in mythical realm. They can’t do like comic book characters. There has to be a line in the sand. And things like Dracula or Frankenstein seem to be silly and would cross the line, in my opinion.
