ParticipantI really don’t want it to be Rumpel behind everything. I hope they spread out the manipulation a bit. And the queen is very manipulative almost more so then Rumpel, in my opinion, so i think that they many people are controlling things in their own way. This is probably the biggest reason i dislike the idea that Rumpel just has all of his memories because i don’t think this show is Rumpel verses the Queen. I think it is Emma on one side and whoever is against her on the other, and i am not convinced that Rumpel is on Emma’s side even if he is trying to be right now. I think that they need to have Emma believe by the end of the season so that she can actively start manipulating the situation just like Rumpel and the Queen are.
Because right now Emma is manipulating the situation. She is helping people do the right thing and become themselves, but she is not doing it actively with knowledge that it will help them become themselves and i would like to at least get there by the end of the season.

ParticipantI don’t think Snow has aged at all since the curse happened.

ParticipantI thought that maybe that big guy that was working with Gold was in ogre. So it may have been that the reason Gold could stop the ogres from attacking Belle’s town was because he was responsible for the attack happening. At least this Second Ogre War or whatever iteration we are on. Rumpel wouldn’t i think be responsible for the First Ogre War.

ParticipantI don’t think it is Billy the tow truck driver just because Ruby seems interested in him. I think Billy was also there when they were at the cave in site in the fifth episode and he was at the bar for the girls night out. And Dr. Whale has came off really creepy and Billy has not, in my opinion.

ParticipantI don’t really see that much difference between Rumpel’s time and the present in the fairytale world. Charming’s father still seems in control of his people in much the way that the ruler was in control in Rumpel’s time. We just haven’t seen many peasants in the present day fairtyale land. We have mostly seen the royal families so we haven’t really gotten a good look at the difference.

ParticipantI have always thought that Dr. Whale is the big bad wolf, but knowing the dumbness of the writing it is possible that it will just be Rumpel again.
And the scene where Mary and Whale had a date he is staring at Ruby. That is all their interaction so far.

ParticipantYeah there are a lot of Biblical references. The entire episode the Shepherd was a Biblical reference. You have a shepherd boy who is brought to kill a dragon instead of a giant, but still. They think that he has no chance against the dragon but he is then able to beat the dragon using his brain just like David in the Bible by a stone to the head of the giant and without brute strength, Charming is able to kill the dragon by getting him to follow him and get the upper hand and behead him.
And, of course, the names. Charming is called David in the real world and Abigail was the name of the Biblical David’s wife. I think the wife that was the daughter of Saul who was the previous king. And Ruth is the name of Charming’s mother in the fairytale world and Ruth is the Biblical David’s great grandmother.
And the name of the fifth epsiode was The Still Small Voice which is a name given to god in the Bible. There is a story about a man who looks for God in a fire and he is not there and he looks for him in an earthquake and he is not there and he looks for him in a mountain and he is not there and then he listens and hears God in a still small voice.
And then the very premise of the show. A child of prophecy, Emma, must run away as a child so that she will not be killed, which Jesus does as a baby running to Egypt. And then Emma is supposed to come back to save the world from the curse. That seems like a very Biblical connection to me.

ParticipantAnd there does seem to be history between the Queen and Rumpel. More history then we have seen so far. I think the scenes between Rumpel and the Queen were just great in this episode.

ParticipantI agree. I think that this moment with Belle is before he got the wand form Cinderella’s fairy godmother. Maybe there are just clothes in the castle because Rumpel took it from someone else. Just like Rumpel’s son’s clothes are still in the castle.
I still don’t understand why Rumpel wanted the wand from the fairy godmother. They need to explain that one.
