ParticipantSo the blonde is the new Alice, right?

ParticipantIsn’t 703 the new Alice episode? I hope that they are twisting all the stories together somehow.

ParticipantThat is an interesting take on Regina. The problem being that her behavior is coddled by the other characters. Her abuse of Henry is erased. Her attempts to murder everyone are just seen as little blips. That is why i find her characterization inconsistent and unrealistic. The way everyone reacts to her behavior is completely unrealistic and was the first major flaw in the show.
In the very first episode of Season 2, the way Henry reacts to Regina, saying she’s my mom and the way Emma reacts after just a few hours before having thrown Regina against a wall and saying if he dies you die, was just so inconsistent. Then the stupid episode where Regina tries to kidnap Henry and murder Charming and then Henry goes with her to protect the townspeople and then she lets him stay with Charming, but then later on in another episode Charming invites her over to babysit during Henry’s sleeping curse dream.
The way everyone reacts to Regina right after the curse broke and then again when Emma and Snow return from the Enchanted forest were such huge writing errors and it was never really fixed for me. They just rewrote her for Season 3, again, and from then on i liked Regina again. I liked the evil Regina in Season 1 and the like middle ground, part of the group, still willing to rip hearts and murder, but also actually showing some care for Henry, Snow, and Emma that happened from Season 3 on. Even though there were some great scenes with Cora and Snow and Season 2, Regina’s character was pretty much crazy in that season and how the rest of the characters reacted to her made them all seem crazy too.
I really like the Regina that exists now and her interactions with Emma and Henry have been really good. There has been some great Cora and Zelena stuff in the later seasons, as well as, a few nice moments with Snow over the years. I just don’t think her journey is consistent or earned or somehow better written then any others. They just rewrote Regina three times until they were like oh this is a good middle ground for her to be in and kept with it, so Roni is just the fourth rewrite.

ParticipantThe titles are usually pretty obvious, so it is probably Tiana.

ParticipantSo, it seems like Rumpel is just going to be non imp like he was Neverland. I think that makes sense.

ParticipantI like Regina, but she has been rewritten multiple times just like all the other characters on the show. I liked it when she was a villain in the first few seasons and i liked her when they just rewrote her and she was part of the team in later seasons. For me, this show doesn’t really develop characters, it just rewrites them, so this new Roni is just a new iteration of the character they have rewritten multiple times anyways.
I am not a big fan of the curse lasting long either. It seems like a waste of time, but if the returning characters are just background characters then maybe it won’t be so bad.

ParticipantI also think doing the hunchback could be really offensive.
Yeah, I guess doing Hunchback would be tricky for two main reasons: 1) The presentation of a deformed person with disabilities, especially if they have Quasimodo talk with a speech impediment from being deaf like in the novel. 2) The religious part.
Why though? They could have Quasimodo on the show without making a joke of people with disabilities… wasnt he a hero in his story? As I remember it he was, atleast in the Disney version.
They could do the hunchback if they were normal writers that could think about character with regards to plot, but they are not.

ParticipantAlso, one thing i think they really need to start doing again is just taking one character from a story like they did in the first few seasons. We just met the Hatter or Jiminy Cricket or Mulan and we learned their story instead of retelling the known story in the exact same way. Now Henry and Cinderella are taking over as the main story, so the characters related to them should be added, but the rest of the week to week characters should not get the grand story and should not linger around wasting screentime and they should stop telling the stories we already know and tell new stories. Like the princess and the frog should not get its full story told. If they are going to do that, they should use that to explain how this curse is like the curse that Dr. Facilier was trying to do, but not to tell the normal story of the Princess and the Frog. The normal story should be assumed and they should expand upon it.

ParticipantI am also really glad that the romance will be much lessened. I am not even a big fan of romantic relationships on shows. They always exist, but they are never why i watch a show, so it will be nice for this show to be about other things as well again.
I hope that the show does have mystery again. There hasn’t been mystery on this show in years. I am not a big fan of the idea of Dracula. I just think vampires seem really silly to me. This show is not funny. It has never been. It is not Buffy which was funny and dramatic at the same time and was able to do that with its monsters. I also think doing the hunchback could be really offensive. These aren’t like normal writers who can think about what that might mean for a character. I wonder if trying to figure out who characters are is going to be part of the show again.
I am already worried about what they are going to do with the LGBT relationship because i really can’t believe that Regina isn’t part of that couple. It just seems like a one off throw away thing. Especially because it is probably going to be Adelaide Kane’s, Drizella, who is still a guest star and it seems like they are just doing it to check the box a little bit better after how people were disappointed with the whole Red and Dorothy thing.

ParticipantEmma and Hook are not true loves and we actually don’t know that Hook is married anymore because the present day scenes are the cursed scenes. The flashbacks are irrelevant. They always have been on this show because this show doesn’t write character.
Where the character is at in the present is really all that matters which is why them being cursed is a waste of time.
