We don’t know if Hook is married anymore or not.

I am glad there is going to be a lot less romance because the writers are terrible at writing romance. None of the romantic partners were ever even friends.

They are trying to fix some of the problems. They are adding persons of color and an LGBT relationship. I just think it is too little too late. I mean they still can’t write character. It isn’t as if they have become better writers.

They should also not have kept Hook. He is easily the most divisive character on the show. He is the most disliked and he should have gone. They may have made a buisness decision when they let go of Neal, but it was a really bad one, and it is just as bad a decision to keep on Hook now. There are so many reasons that the reboot might fail.

I think the hardest things to overcome is that they kept Hook and that it seems like they are not spending the first few episodes really going into the new characters. I know when i watch a new show, it doesn’t get half a season to see whether or not i will watch it. If the are trying to regain some of the fans that left because of all of the bad writing, those who might check out the reboot, and they exist, then they need to get into the reboot and the new characters and not languish on trying to explain away the loss.

None of what you wrote is true. There is a reason the show stopped working after they killed Neal and it is because the integrity of their story was lost with his death. The point being that there are many things on this show that have happened that have completely destroyed their story like Emma dating Hook and Neal being killed. Neither thing did the show any favors ratings wise considering they have lost the majority of their audience since Season 1. Now they have no choice, but to remove Emma, so she will be removed. It really doesn’t matter how they do it at this point, so death is on the table.

You think the show will fail no matter what, and most likely it will because reboots are hard, and they have kept, through no choice of their own, the wrong characters. Emma, Snow, Charming, and Belle being off the show is the problem right now and it is unfixable. How they remove Emma will not be the problem, it will be whether or not the general audience can accept that she has been removed and connect to the new characters. That is the game here. It really is a new show. They need to let the old show go. It is gone.

    They probably just mean Lucy.

Neal dying could never happen. His character was part of the foundation of the show. Emma dating Hook could never happen. The good guy protagonist dating a serial killer can’t happen. In any show with a normal writing process, those things would never have happened. They just do not make sense. There was nothing that happened in the first two seasons of the show that would make those things happening make even the tiniest bit of sense. Yet they did.

Now the writers have no choice, but to remove Emma from the story. The actor is off the show. She could change her mind, but i don’t know if there is enough time for her to be over it and want to come back and film next year. I just do not consider anything to be impossible on a show where completely inconsistent things have happened that have ruined the integrity of the story. In a show like that killing Emma is possible.

I don’t even know if i think that they will kill Emma. I think more likely then not, they won’t because it might just be too far, but to assume that these writers, these terrible writers, would understand that? I will not assume that. It is possible, even though i think it is more likely she will just be off somewhere doing something else. Emma is no longer the main character. The new characters have to connect or the show will get cancelled because the show is about the new characters. That is why i do not understand why they are wasting two of the first four episodes on characters that are gone because they are gone and they need to push the new characters hard.

We will see. I think they won’t kill her, but they might.

If Neal can die, if Emma can date Hook, then they can kill Emma. The actor wanted off the show. She has filmed her one episode. I think that it is possible. I still am not really sure if that is what they are going to do, but it is certainly possible. It seems like a bad writing choice, but these writers often do the thing that is the bad writing choice.

Yeah, if only they weren’t related though. I could see the show just ignoring that in favor of tying a little bow on the ending.

It has been so great to see all the characters interacting with one another instead of all off on their own.

I don’t think she filmed a secret scene or they wouldn’t have said nope. I think the only chance is that people change their minds. I just think that a year is not long enough for Jennifer to change her mind.

Regarding the “kill off Emma theory”, this part of the TCA panel makes me believe otherwise:

The loss Hook may be feeling is Emma, as Jennifer Morrison is only slated to return for one episode — the second episode, which is Hook-centric, is slated to reveal why Emma is not along for the ride. Episode 2 is going to answer what has happened with Emma and Captain Hook and episode 4 will answer that very question for Belle,” executive producer Edward Kitsis said. “We are not looking to get rid of any of the happy endings, but we are moving forward and we think we have a way to achieve both things.”

I’m not sure how they’d be able to preserve both the happy endings, while explaining Emma and Belle’s absences, like they said if it meant killing either of them off.

    Quote

I hear that. I just think for me the happy ending has already been lost if Henry hasn’t seen his family in twenty years. I don’t see how the show could think that is reasonable and yet they did it. The way the writers were saying we wanted the fan to enjoy the summer and enjoy their time with the happy endings made me wonder back then. I don’t know what they are going to do, but if Jennifer Morrison won’t come back again whatever Emma’s ending is, it is away from her son, so she might as well be dead at that point. They have to explain it away and i don’t see how they do otherwise. I don’t get how her final episode is wasted with Hook. If any of those things can happen, things that are ridiculous and out of character and terrible writing, then killing her seems possible.
