ParticipantThis show doesn’t really do clues anymore. In Season 1 there were clues, objects sitting around, the color someone might wear, some of the lines they might say, but that is all gone.
Seriously, the beginning of Season 6 had no relation to the end of it at all. Even the scene where Emma fight Gideon was completely different. The sword was irrelevant. Regina not being there never happened. There was no purplish smoke poofing the sword away. Gideon wasn’t under a cloak. Those scenes had no relations to one another and if this was a normal show there is no way i would think that was actually showing what happened in Emma’s vision.
And that is not the only thing. Nothing about the beginning of this season had any relations to the end. Clue’s are pointless. Narrative build is pointless. There is nothing to figure out. It will just be a random ending anyways.

ParticipantI definitely agree that they need to step away from the Disney princesses if Disney isn’t willing to let them make those characters flawed and interesting and human because they are worried about their branding. I think they really need to work on making the new characters feel like real human beings. I am just not sure if it is possible, but the potential is there. There is still a lot of great known stories that they could dip into, but they really have to making something deep and real with the reboot.

ParticipantThey have also explained that the people left on the ground as well as the Skaikru are more able to take in radiation anyways and so that means the plants have in some way adapted. The people in mount weather where the unadapted pocket of humanity.
I still don’t get why they don’t at least let as many people as possible hide in the bunker until this wave passes and then put them out, so maybe they would at least have a chance. It seems like the wave is the biggest issue going on. I guess the problem being that once people are in they wouldn’t leave.
I think the whole they seem to be killing off humanity outside the bunker is a weird decision for me writing wise. It really shrinks the world building. We will see what they do with it.
Though, honestly, when they showed the shot of Clark in the forest, i thought that was after the time jump. There wasn’t any snow and she looked sort of wild looking. I think the idea that she might get left behind is a good one since she was like hugging people and stuff in the island bunker.
I thought that Clarke’s mom had something wrong with her brain like Raven did and that was why she wanted to be left out of the bunker? That might have been fixed and i not remember though what with my lack of interest in the adults’ existence.
And i completely agree with “I’m one of you? You made me hide under the floor; you floated my mother. I’m not hiding now” was a pretty awesome line and really brought where she started to where she is now. I am not sure she is being a great leader right now either. I think she is right, in that, to protect humanity that they would have had to take out Skaikru if they couldn’t make a decision, but it seems like she is doing it out of anger. I think they aren’t quite showing that properly, sort of like Clarke’s decision to steal the bunker and then to not let Octavia in seemed like a weird one.
That is the sort of writing error that happens at times on this show.

ParticipantI think for me the best new thing is that they are going to introduce a new good guy regular. The show hasn’t introduced a new good guy regular since Season 1. They have only introduced villains that have hung around like a plagues for too long. I don’t like that it is just villains from the original cast staying on, but i do like that we are going to get introduced to a new hero.
I am also glad that we no longer have to see Emma and Snow dangling on the arms of a guy and either barely or not at all having a storyline outside of that. I will be glad to stop seeing Belle yoyo back and forth between leaving Rumpel and going back to him even though he hasn’t really changed. I am glad that the only romance is going to be whatever happens with Henry.

ParticipantWell, personally i don’t think that there should ever be a big original evil that is opposite good. Evil is always a corruption of good. That is why the Black Fairy should have been a very old power, back before all this began, she should have been Blue’s sister, she should have been the first magical creature that was corrupted by their desire for power and that was when evil entered the world and created that desert that the Enchanted Forest was later born from.
I have never really liked the Evil isn’t born, it’s made line. Not because i disagree with that, but because the problem is that even if someone isn’t born evil and they are instead taught to be evil through circumstance and upbringing, they still, in fact, are in the present day evil.
The idea that everyone should forgive Regina just because she used to be a sad, lonely girl, with an abusive mother and a useless father whose true love was murdered by her mother in front of her is crazy because those facts don’t actually change that fact that she is a mass murdering psychopath who should be locked up. I know she has “changed” and i love the Regina they have now, but the writers somehow missed the idea that someone who is made evil is in fact still evil. Sad stories or not Regina, Rumpel, Zelena, and Hook are still villains that should be locked up for the rest of their lives.
And if they aren’t going to do that, if they aren’t going to lock them up for the rest of their lives then they have to work so hard to get them from the psychotic mass murderer character to the sit down at the diner at the end of the day character that they like to pretend they are now. It is why the show doesn’t work. Yeah, evil not being born, but made is a nice catch phrase, but the type of people they wrote the villains of this show to be should never be trusted again. They went to far.

ParticipantIt is unfortunate they couldn’t figure out this nightblood thing before they threw out the 300 SkaiKru. I imagine they are going to do a time jump in between seasons. I love Octavia as the queen of the grounders. I wonder if anyone is going to have kids during the time jump.

ParticipantI hope they do introduce a new villain. I hope it isn’t just Rumpel being the dark one again or Hook back on a murder spree. They just need to do something different. A new villain and a new main female character. They also need new reoccurring characters. No more Grumpy screaming in the background again.
They also need to have Lucy call Regina and Emma, grandma. Regina over and over again. That sounds like fun.

ParticipantI hope it is just good. That it is about the nature of humanity. That it is just about something real. The last prequel was so bad.

ParticipantI think there will be people that will take a look at Season 7 because it is supposed to be a new start and quite a few of the disliked things have been removed. I am just not sure that that is going to make that much of a difference. Especially with the move to Friday and the loss of the majority of the original cast.
I am just really not convinced that the writing is going to be better is the problem. I mean as much as it seems like something new, the writers still don’t know how to write character development. It is really surprising to me how the writers can say that they are going to do something all new and yet the concept that we have been told is exactly like Season 1. Henry and a daughter he didn’t raise finding him and convincing him to go somewhere to save his family who have cursed memories. Except it lacks all of the interesting connections from Season 1 where Emma was the daughter of Snow and Charming and the Evil Queen was raising her son whose father was the son of Rumpelstiltskin who created the curse that brought them all there.
Now it is like a bunch of random characters that it is all like why are they interacting? We will see. I just feel like we have so little information. Henry is older and has a daughter and there is something bad attacking them in a future, something that is probably not really bad, while his daughter runs off with the storybook full of stories that supposedly no one will ever believe. This all seems like much ado about nothing.

ParticipantI keep thinking Inhumans and The Gifted are the same show. It is the Gifted that looks good.
