There was also a theory that she us actually Ursula The Sea Witch. Whoever she is, Regina seems to respect her which could possibly indicate she’s either pretty powerful or very frightening….or both.

Yes, I could imagine her as Ursula! Nice idea!!

It would be great, if dr.Whale were the Wizard of OZ. I have imagined him as the wizard from the beginning of the second season.

For exemple I imagine Snowhite ageless, living in a story that finishes with a happy ending and keeps repeating every time is being renarrated. Eventually the curse disrupted that harmony.

There may be something to that idea of repeating cycles, but on some level we have characters growing up, giving birth, and there still has to be an order of events within the cycle of overlapping stories. It’s simpler to assume parallel time between worlds, unless we’re told about a freeze or a jump or something like that. Anything else that seems “before its time” is probably best explained by magic like prophecy or something like that.

I liked the idea used in the episode “Welcome to Storybrook” when every day in Storybrook was like the day before. The events keep repeating, but always with a slight variation.
The same concept could run for the Enchanted Forest, but not on a daily basis, but on a story basis. Just to give an exemple: let’s say the story begins with Rumple in the Ogre Wars and finishes with Snow giving birth to Emma. After that the story begins again from the start, but with variations in its path. Like a story being retold from generation to generation. The curse disrupted that cycle.
I know it’s crazy, but is how I like it. Until the writers explain their idea, this is my theory. 😆

I have yet to watch the last 5 episodes of the second season.

Based on what I have seen so far, I don’t think that the second season was awful, but it was less good than the first one, in my opinion. I loved every episode of the first season, because it was perfectly done in every detail. It was basically centered on the curse and the developments leading to the breaking of it. I loved the filler episodes too (loved Hansel&Gretel and the Blind Witch and the Nova-Grumpy love story)
The second was less centered on a particular topic and this created more confusion. But the episodes were still very good per se, like The Miller’s Daughter, The Crocodile, the one about Belle in Mulan’s land, Manhattan etc.

There were some points that I didn’t like:
-Doctor Whale = Frankestein (I would have preferred him being The Wizard of OZ)
-the “time runs parallel” issue (this isn’t exactly explained in the show, but somehow implied). Ok, ok, I have already said this in another thread. 😳
-the flashbacks explaining how Cora created a shield against the curse (I was expecting more footage of Cora in Wonderland in that episode, since it was named Queen of Hearts)

Also, Jade, there are hints that these stories echo back and forth and repeat themselves

But IF time in the EF and TLWM runs the same (and we have little indication it doesn’t–in fact, Emma’s and Neal’s crossings to the EF, as well as Cora’s statement about how her protection bubble would work relative to the curse, suggest that yes, at least for these two worlds (but probably NOT for NL), time is the same.

And that means that yes, the events leading up to the curse did happen in the early 80s and late 70s, in this world. That doesn’t mean that the stories couldn’t have gotten out in some form in the past.

Besides, this is a story itself. It doesn’t have to match up perfectly to our reality.

To be fair, I don’t like at all the idea that time runs exactly the same and in parallel with our world. It ruins all the magic. I imagine fairy tales in a world that doesn’t have the logical rules of our world. It would be better if the writers don’t try to explain that much the physical rules that govern that land.
For exemple I imagine Snowhite ageless, living in a story that finishes with a happy ending and keeps repeating every time is being renarrated. Eventually the curse disrupted that harmony.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your work. 😉

What I find interesting is that Eva was mischievous and spoiled when she was young. Not that pure as shown in the previous episode.

Hello Jade. What part of Italy are you from?

I traveled to Florence with my girlfriends back in 2011. We took a day trip to Venice. It was beautiful. I want to go back one day.

I am from Trieste, a city near Venice. Just two hours by train.

Venice, Florence and Rome are the three most beautiful Italian cities. Venice is magical. They are also the most famous. But trust me, there are also other less known jewels. Unfortunately we are not investing much in tourism. That is a pity.

In my opinion we all miss a point: the fairy tales were known in our world in the middle ages already. So no way the events of the Enchanted Forest could have happened in the 70s of our century. The curse made the characters travel not just through space but also through time.
