ParticipantGreat to see so many Alias fans! It’s one of the first series I was truly as passionate about as I am with OUAT.

What did u think of the ending to Alias though?
I think S5 had a lot of problems, thus why it went off the air. I think making Vaughn suddenly be involved in some secret covert operation and ruining his status as all around good guy was a mistake. I think they never fully explained the Rambaldi secrets and could have done a lot more to flesh out the mythology. While tragic, I never expected Jack (or Irina for that matter) to live through the series and I think in the end Irina proved herself to be a fairy horrible person. I was glad it was Jack who took down Sloan, it made the most sense. The happy ending for the Vaughn family was a nice touch but I kinda wish they hadn't alluded to Isabelle being just like her mother. They should have just been a normal family instead of having another Bristow woman who obviously had exceptional skills.
I totally agree with what you said and to this day, I still do not own S5, even though I have all the other seasons of Alias in my collection. I might buy the set someday just to complete the collection.
Here is what I also think may have ruined the show: The lack of Irina in S3. She really needed to be there. The whole online chat with Jack was totally lame. I think they were having contractual issues with Lena Olin, who played Irina, so even though she was supposed to in the S3 plot, she wasn't there. I believe there were also a lot of struggles to get her to come back on toward the end of the series. I also hated how The One vs. The Passenger battle went down. They were prophesizing for the longest time that they would have this epic battle and it was all of two minutes? There should have been more to that. A lot of issues toward the end. Season 5 was a disaster for the most part.

Alias was a fantastic show, another of JJ Abrams creations.
Yes! I think it’s fantastic that JJ Abrams is successful on the big screen now with Star Trek, and Star Wars in the near future. He’s just plain awesome.
I also like:
Bones (though I need to catch up on S8)
The Voice
Grimm

Could be, or perhaps the night we saw Milah in the tavern wasn’t the first night she’d been there with Killian.
When the woman knocked on Rumple’s door telling him Milah had been kidnapped, she said “the men who came into port last week” had taken Milah. Being pirates, it is likely their first stop would’ve been the local tavern and since Milah seemingly spent most of her time there, it is highly likely Hook and Milah had spent time together there.
Milah may have fallen in love with Hook “that first night” but she probably wanted to make sure it was love and not a crush. After a week, and still feeling the same about him, she probably then decided to leave with him.
Milah isn’t the type to risk losing the roof over her head for something she couldn’t trust was real. Rumple provided for Milah, if she’d left Rumple for a short lived fling then she would’ve ended up homeless or worse, she would’ve had to beg Rumple to take her back. I doubt adultery would’ve been held in high regard so she would’ve been known as the adultering wife of a coward.
Good point. I hadn’t even realized that. I am glad I have other fans that catch these things so that I can mooch off of their info lol. π

Sorry busy weekend. In NZ, you are never more than an couple of hours at most from the ocean, so sometimes forget that not everyone will get the reference. A dinghy is a type of small boat (our’s carried 10), often carried or towed for use as a ship’s boat by a larger vessel. They are usually used as rowboats or have an outboard motor (ours was both), but some are rigged for sailing.
Nothing to be sorry about! Thanks for explaining it to me! I would love to live by the water. It would be a different lifestyle altogether and from what I have heard, NZ is a gorgeous place. Lucky gal!

I don’t think Millah met up with Killian in that tavern more than once.
When she arrives in time to save him in “The Crocodile” she says to Rumple that she can explain………“That first night, when Killian and his crew came into the tavern, he told stories about the places heβd been. And I fell in love with him.”
Ahh, I didn’t catch that. Thanks for clarifying. I guess it was one encountering. Thanks Gypsy!

“Much Darker” from KatrinDepp
Lacey/Rumple/BelleLove KatrinDepp’s work!
Emma x Neal (spoilers from 2×21):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o14KEY6C6zYYes!!!! I love her work too! I have been following her work from House and squeed when she started doing OUAT vids! “Much Darker” is so superbly edited. I love how she intermixes past scenes with current ones and uses the dialogue from both scenes. I am not going to watch the Emma and Neal one just yet though…I like to be relatively spoiler-free. lol

Do you suppose the Dark One makes his own outfits? XD
They’re pretty unique and it’s not like he’s a stranger to needle and thread.
Maybe it’s a side business. He supplies all the baddies with kickin’ clothing.Haha. Yeah, he is a rock star in his own right. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a scene where he was looking in the mirror and changing outfits: poof! “nah, not enough swag.” Poof! Nah, need more….leather!”
He is certainly comfortable with the needle and thread, so I can see either one happening. He either “poofs” into outfits, or he meticulously sews his clothing – another way to do this “best thinking.”
Rumple is such a bad a**. I really love how Robert Carlyle has interpreted his character to be. He does a fantastic job.

I think Rumple did ask Bae to stay outside. He knew exactly where to find Milah which suggest Rumple has retrieved her from the tavern before. Rumple wouldn’t know what state to find Milah in so he wouldn’t want Bae to see his mother worse for wear or canoodling with another man.
I just re-watched that scene, coincidentally. He did want Bae to stay out of the bar. Bae just snuck into the bar. Rumple was genuinely surprised when Bae showed up. I think Milah was too, which suggested that it has happened before.
I’m assuming that Milah had many meet-ups at the bar with Hook and his crew in order to fall in love with him and want to leave with him. I don’t think she would want to leave in one encounter. At least, I am hoping Milah has more will power than that.
Speaking of Milah, anyone wonder if there will be more of a backstory with her in season 3? It’s too easy to hate her with the way she has treated Rumple, but I wonder if there is more behind the scenes with her character and story arc than we know just yet. I also would like to see how she was as a pirate.
