I just rewatched “In the name of the brother” – and got reminded of the reaction Emma showed when Gold told her that she has to come searching for his son because “every minute I’m here is a minute closer to me killing Hook”. So Rumple knows too that there is something between the two or he wouldn’t have used Hook to pressure Emma. Also I’m thinking about why they showed us Snow in that moment – to me she looked like a little worried or something… Does that mean that she, too, sensed something there?
Might be. Just to be the devil’s advocate here, he could have also pushed her because he knows she won’t allow anyone get killed at the hands of Rumple, being sheriff and for being Emma Swan. David and Emma were literally pulling him off Hook when they were at the accident scene.
Snow might be concerned for the same reason…but, since we’re speaking of Snow’s reaction…she was quite concerned and struck by how Hook was interacting with Emma when he and Cora locked them up in Rumple’s cell. She might be aware of an attraction, at least on Hook’s part since she’s seen his shameless flirting with her as well as the hurt he expressed when Emma “abandoned” him on the beanstalk.

I think Neal and Emma will give it another go briefly because they still have leftover feelings for each other. Exactly, Price! I totally agree.

@AllThatGlitters wrote:However, I don’t think they would have the flirtation between Hook/Emma in Tallahassee for no reason. They clearly wanted to show parallels between Neal and Hook as suitors for Emma. It seems like the episodes have been too busy lately to show Emma’s love life so I am wondering if we will see it more in S3.
I agree with you. The ultimate question is: why would Emma find the need to leave Hook up on that beanstalk and also struggle with leaving him up there? Sure, he’s a pirate, but he also unnerves her with is uncanny ability to peer into her soul. I think we will see some CS action in S3. It may not be a full-blown ship, but perhaps moving toward that. Emma and Hook both have a lot of layers that need peeling back before they are ready for love.

(I’m very adament that Henry can have everybody in his life but there HAS to be some merging of the FTL + real world stuff, given that our characters, especially Emma, have had that as a major influence in their lives now and Henry needs to grow up and realize that they can all still love him and be civil with each other without absolutely having to have his parents back together. With their crazy dysfunctional family – since he has Regina in there as well – he’s just gotta learn that having them all in his life and hopefully getting along with each other eventually is enough – at least I hope that’s the case).
Kat, you are absolutely right. I think because Henry is still quite young (11, right?), he hasn’t nailed the concept down of having alternate endings that aren’t ideal, but still have civility involved. I really don’t think Swanfire is going to happen, and even if it does, it will be short-lived. Emma has been betrayed and wounded too deeply to go back to the perpetrator who caused it. I won’t want to harp on Neal because he is proving himself to be a good guy with the way he wants to stick around for Henry. I also think he cares for Emma too.
I just can’t wait to see how CS unfolds. I want to see how they disarm each other. It’s always the process of falling in love and the struggles (esp. when there are love-hate relationships involved – my favorite kind of pairing) to get there that fascinate and keep me hooked in. hehe

I also really hoping for an “I hate pirates” line from Grumpy if we can’t get “Ello Poppet.” Either way, having Grumpy on the Jolly Roger would be amazing. I know the Lady Washington (the ship being used as the Jolly Roger) was in the first PotC movie but I don’t think it was on that Pintel was ever on, haven’t watched it in ages though so I could be wrong.
Love the pictures those two post from real life, hope they continue to do so and I’d love to see Grumpy get to spend some time with Hook. These two are hilarious together.
I really hope so too. They make a great pair, on and off screen š Grumpy can definitely handle Hook’s sarcasm and snark with his own, so hell to the yeah!

so this science vs. magic debate that GOAT is re-sparking has me thinking.
Dr. Whale could be Dr. Frankenstein and the Wizard of Oz. His technology has had a very Oz feel to it stylistically. Dorothy was ALSO from a land without color – though that was the movie. Whale also has personality traits in common with the Wizard. example: high on himself and his work, but fake and less than honorable.
Also, could Rumple be the Wicked Witch of the West? Or, if Tamara stole his powers and got green skin, she’d be the WWW. They’ve been hinting at Oz for a while. I feel as though many worlds are about to collide in the coming seasons. If Regina’s fail safe works and not everyone gets out of storybrook, i could see the characters being scattered in different worlds. Some being sent to oz, maybe?
Pan, I think an Oz story arc would be amazing and just broaden the possibilities in plots and characters. As cool as Rumple is, I think he is too many characters in one already, so I would like to see a new WWW – like Tamara, as you said.
We’ve seen non-fairytale characters like Lancelot and Frankenstein of course, so it is possible we will see more in the future. There might be more, but it’s 3 in the morning, so my brain isn’t exactly at optimum speed š
Characters scattered in different worlds is a great idea. I think it will happen, especially there were three beans in that pod that Regina was harvesting in her office.

Slightly off topic, but like with Emma/Neil, it does concern CS….. Anyone else having reservations over hints that Hook/Ariel maybe being paired? I’m not keen simply because Ariel is supposed to be very, very young- like 16 young, which is to young to fall for a 30 something pirate (with 300 odd yrs of experiences) imo anyway (I’d rather her fall for a young Prince Eric than Hook) & if they made her obviously mid- late 20’s (like the rest of the Disney princesses on the show), she wouldn’t really be ‘Ariel’ anymore, but more a red haired rip off of Splash- if that makes sense?
As I think Demileto pointed out on another thread–youth is not really that central to Ariel’s character any more than it is for the other princesses. Snow is 15 in the original animated movie version, and they’ve doubled her age give or take few years. The important part about Ariel was she was fascinated with another culture, and fell in love, made a deal to be human instead of a mermaid.
Correct. Even if they age her up to about 20ish, they can still believably have Triton as a protective parent who is concerned by his daughter’s fascination with the world of humans. Making her a bit older also means they can give her a more fully developed romance storyline, instead of a more innocent one they’d have to give her if she was cast as 16. You can get away with marrying off a 16 year old animated character a bit easier than you can a real life one.
Yeah, I am sure the writers could manipulate the ages and the plotline a wee bit to make it kosher agewise. Even though I am not a Hookriel shipper, I still think Ariel would a wonderful past romantic encounter in Hook’s life: one of the women who wants adventure, and Hook can give it to her. I see the parallels with Milah’s wish for a bigger life.

@Surayya wrote:
Also Eric is suppose to be Ariel’s TL, not Killian.
If they have to make Killian portray a 3rd character, it either should to be a villain- like they do with Rumple- yes I know beast isn’t a ‘true’ villain, but he started out portrayed as mean/bad etc & blossomed into the hero prince (& I’m not keen on Hook becoming another villain!) or keep it in the universe of the Peter Pan story..ie a lost boy, Pan or Indian, otherwise we start to loose major characters out of other stories & it all becomes very confusing trying to keep track of who is really who & who they relate to, along with when, where & how!FWIW, Barrie wrote that, “Hook was not his true name. To reveal who he really was would even at this date set the country in a blaze.” And there’s a telling of Hook’s story that writes him as the illegitimate son of royalty:
According to the (non-canon) novel Capt. Hook: The Adventures of a Notorious Youth, Captain Hook was born the illegitimate son of a nobleman, “Lord B”, and an unnamed woman Hook has never met (however, throughout the story, there are multiple clues in the way characters act and react that the unnamed woman may in fact be the Queen). Denounced by Lord B, James Matthew is brought up by a Shakespearean actress he calls Aunt Emily. When he is fifteen he unwillingly attends Eton College as an Oppidan scholar.
Yes, I realise that that particular publication isn’t Neverland canon and isn’t something they’d have the rights to borrow from for Once, but that idea, combined with Barrie himself saying that there was a scandalous secret to Hooks true identity, has had me wondering for a while if when we get the story of Killian’s youth, it may be revealed that he was actually born of a noble bloodline. Ships aside, just speaking as a straight up Hook fan, I think a backstory like that for him would be really interesting.
That would certainly be a great backstory. It would definitely pull me in to see the overturning of his nobility into the gold-stealing pirate that he is now. What a wonderful twist. I would love to see the transition from nobility to thief and sailor.
@Phee wrote:
Finally, speaking as someone who is actually a Hookriel shipper, I think it’s over the top, obscenely, undeniably romantic if a man who has given his life to the sea ends up having a true love who was born from it.
Yes, it is undeniably romantic. I am not averse to the idea, but to me, I think Emma is meant to have Hook, and to throw noble blood into the mix of things in his backstory, only makes me squee at yet another parallel between Hook and Emma. If that all unfolds like this, I will die a happy CS shipper.

Yes, it may have been Paleyfest when they talked about that? But, I think you are right. They did discuss about possibly exploring the flower tat. And, what would be totally awesome is if Hook asked Emma about it first and that’s how the backstory of it is introduced….Hmmm…..
As for the wishlist….

I want to see Emma find out who “Killian” really is…and fall in love.
YES!!!! I want to see Killian, even a glimpse of him, before the season ends.
Obisgirl, 1&2 are just fine by me…those are bonus points for me. Do I think it will happen this season, nah, but in the future, it should!!!! Otherwise, I protest! And, that won’t be pretty. Your 3&4 are on my wishlist too.
I also want:
1) Emma and David to have a real daughter-father moment.. I have been wanting one and haven’t quite seen them completely bonding like her and MM have.2) Neal and Hook interaction. Whether it be over Emma, or just to see the history they have had in the past…clearly they do since Neal recognizes him and knows how to steer the Jolly Roger.
3) A Henry an Grandpa!Rumple hug. Preferably, with Henry calling him gramps in the process.
4) Mulan showing more emotion and depth…if possible with her character backstory.
5) Aurora reuniting with Philip.
6) Robin Hood backstory.
7)ooooh, and the best one: Daddy Charming yelling at Neal for abandoning Emma. I know JMo was wanting Charming to do something about it, even though it hasn’t happened yet.
That’s it for now….but, I’m sure there will be more I can think of later on!!!

you know, I re-read an old interveiw Colindid for a French magazine (the one where he admitted that Hook is attracted to Emma). Further below, there’s this question:
With his pedigree (Iām supposing they mean his backstory), why are fans so seduced by the character?
Because people love anti-heroes, characters Ć la Han Solo capable of doing the good thing at the last moment.
and I have a feeling, if Hook is anything like Han in the first movie, he'll run first and then quickly change his mind, come back and help our heroes at the last minute. Plus, I think it's funny after watching The Evil Queen, that people are saying Hook is the anti-hero and Colin even said that himself months ago.
YES!!!! I concur! That’s a great interview and very telling of what might happen in the near future.
E & A also put a spin on this: He's either a villain stuck in a hero's body or a hero stuck in a villain's body.
I think it’s the latter. I can’t wait to see the surprises Hook will bring – he always does things that not only other people are surprised by, but he himself might be surprised by. Like, saving Aurora’s heart amidst the CS sword fight. These little moments show us a glimpse of good he has in him.I don’t think he realizes that inside the shell of Hook is still that Killian that he once was, and maybe even a better version of it that he has not even seen yet. Perhaps Emma will tap into that? I am really wishing that happens. A girl can dream…*sighs*
