ParticipantDefinitely agree, RG. She bugged me in 3a too. If I heard her say the word “hope” one more time I was going to chuck something at the tv. I know it’s her thing to have hope, but there’s having it and being blinded by it.

ParticipantTrue, RG…although I’d say Cora nears the few redeeming qualities end of the spetrum…
I guess what I mean is I can’t see them using Elsa as a percieved bad guy and the ‘villian’ of the season…I feel like maybe there’s someone else lurking that A&E are using Frozen to hide

ParticipantAgreed, @Watcher! I don’t know if it’s headcannon per se, but I just can’t shake the feeling that Elsa & co. is just a giant misdirect and there’s something super secret they’re keeping from us that is the real threat. They’ve said Elsa is misunderstood, which is not really evil – and although I think it would be extremely refreshing for A&E to break from the mold and maybe focus more on the characters than the big explosions and cgi madness and whatnot, I can’t imagine them actually doing that.

ParticipantLove your post, @Bo-Peeps! I do like doing some character analysis, but in the end OUAT is exactly that for me – fun escapism. And that is what I want from OUAT first and foremost – am I having a blast for the hour I’m watching every Sunday? Do I love re-watching….and re-watching….and re-watching….yes? Excellent. That OUAT also can make you think is great. But in the end, I don’t think that’s A&E’s point – I think their focus is bringing us on a fun ride. In regard to Emma, have to agree with you there, too. I like Emma, but up until 3B, she could really start to grate on my nerves. I like that Hook mellows her out. I think now that she’s acknowledging what he means to her, she’ll continue to come out of her shell and realize she can enjoy those little moments Daddy Charming was telling her about.
I’m watching the Hollywood Reporter Roundtables on the biography channel…it’s the first time I’ve seen it, and it’s interviewing some comedic lead actresses…they’re talking about social media and it’s striking such a chord in regard to the conversations a lot of us have had lately – about how people seem to forget that Adam & the actors and writers are actual people, and a little respect goes a lot farther then insults and ‘constructive’ criticism that isn’t so constructive. Seeing actresses say ‘it’s hurtful’ is intense – and I think something anyone who mouths off and thinks they have the right to be rude should see.

ParticipantHmm…I like that idea that NL caused Neal and Hook to revert to their teenage/childish selves! Definitely would help me digest the lighter scene a little easier *shudders*. In all seriousness though, that would have been an extremely interesting concept for the NL arc – what if NL did somehow cause you to revert? How would the characters handle that while also attempting to save Henry?
I chalk Hook and Neal’s childishness up to pure awkwardness. They have so much history (I believe; I think Bae was on Hook’s ship for quite some time — oh the things we’ll never get answers to), that alone would’ve made meeting each other again awkward – and then they realize they’re in love (debatable, but I digress) with the same girl.

ParticipantSnow, being Snow, will likely figure out a way for both Snowing and Regina to rule. After being in SB; and having some idea of how this realm and the various kinds of leaders there are here, maybe they’ll adopt a democracy/monarchy-type thing (I can’t imagine any of them agreeing to give up their positions as king/queen and go full on American democracy kind of thing – I mean, who doesn’t want to be a QUEEN?!) But I can see Snow at least recognizing that she, Regina and Charming all have good qualities to lead, and together would make a very good leading team. Technically, though, I guess who is actually the ruler would depend on how their Kingdom determines who inherits the throne – does it go to the spouse, or the child?
In regard to Regina’s former rule, yeah, I have to agree with POM & Obisgirl. Regina’s main goal as Queen was to kill Snow. Then kill anyone who protected Snow/crossed Regina. Her subjects feared her. I don’t care if she let people live comfortably, people are not going to respect someone they’re terrified of. Regina had the ability to be a good leader, but her choices detracted her from fulfilling her potential, in my opinion.

ParticipantAHHHHH the world is off it’s axis! You hated that scene PoM! 🙂
My day is now complete. I agree confidence all the way – and for me, a little acknowledgement on Hook’s part that he needs and intends to become a better man – and worthy of his ‘win’ once he succeeds.

ParticipantMy only real issue with Regina is her ‘consequences’ line she likes to use to blame others for her misfortune. You do not run around acting like a psychopath and hunt down a woman for an error she made as a child. You can argue she was manipulated all you want but at some point you have to question your own moral center.
Regarding Emma’s consequences…she saved an innocent human being. T hat isn’t a mistake in judgment on Emma’s part to me. In my opinion the concept that Marian was never going to die because Emma saved her time travel loop holds no water. Whether or not Marian actually died is not the issue – Evil Queen’s intent to kill her remains.
I think what is of most importance is why Robin thinks he’s responsible for her death. Does he know the EQ intended to kill her or is there a chunk of story we haven’t been told yet? Also of importance, for me, is the last roadblock to Regina truly being redeemed is her blame she casts on others. Once she takes ownership of her mistakes ‘I’ll be content in believing she’s truly redeemed.

ParticipantThe writers took such drastic turns first having Rumple propose, then kill Z, then lie about it, then have RumBelle actually marry that they really need to devote a good portion of time to their story to make it not only believable but acceptable in S4 so I’m hoping for a big arc for them. Even sacrificing Emma, Regina and/or their ships, etc. (Unless they work on Emma and Snow’s relationship too. For me that one needs the most time followed by RumBelle)

ParticipantLast season, I felt like the writers didn’t really know what to do with Belle – like A&E jumped on signing Emilie because her pilot was picked up and then….’wait, we have to work her into the show somehow…’…but a full season later, that excuse isn’t good enough – not that it was a good one in the first place. They really need to get a handle on Belle and figure out what her purpose is, aside from just being Rumple’s TL.
They’ve given us glimpses of Belle being strong and powerful, but they’ve also shown Belle as being, in my opinion, almost blind when it comes to the Dark side of Rumple. I’m hoping, since they set up a good potential arc for RumBelle, that they do work on fleshing her out. I agree with RG, I’m almost predisposed to like Belle because B&B was and still is my favorite Disney movie. Talk about what an excellent prototype the Disney version of Belle is. She’s strong, she’s powerful, she’s not afraid to speak her mind. And OUAT’s Belle does have some similarities but they haven’t spent enough time on her, and that although I like Belle enough, I’m also kind of ‘meh’. When she’s on screen I find myself asking why the hairstylist didn’t use a brush on her before they called action (I seriously dislike Belle hair, grrr) and ‘ok, why is she running around the forest in the winter in shorts?’ than really focusing on what’s going on…because why get invested when she’s going to disappear until she’s needed again.
