So I rewatched Tallahassee today….wow. After 3B, and especially the last few episodes, there are so many things in that episode that foreshadow where were are right now. CSers might be accused of having shipper goggles on but if you watch that episode and have any doubt that CS was planned from the very beginning has some serious ability to see what they want to see and block a LOT. Someone said it earlier and it is so true – Hook was in love the moment Emma held that blade to his throat! I had forgotten how much they mention Neverland in that episode, and not just in the obvious ‘Hook was in NL’ way; they foreshadow so much that then played out throughout this season (I can’t think of specifics right now, it’s late and I’m half asleep, haha, but I still had to share my awe). People can argue that A&E get carried away and veer too far off the path they plotted a little too often (myself included – those boys love their shiny toys!) but CS is one storyline they had mapped out and even minute details planted throughout until we’ve gotten to this point, the night before/day of (?) the finale!
Even my 3 year old is officially an OUAT Hook fan…he already liked the character of Hook because he’s on “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” (Disney Jr show you either have been subjected to or will be subjected to ad nauseum if a toddler is in the vicinity…) He’s seen pics of OUAT and knows which one is Hook but he’d never really seen the show because, you know, he’s 3. But he came in when I was watching and I told him I could turn it but he was mesmerized. My husband, who will not watch OUAT with me was like ‘are you kidding me?! Now our son?!’ and I was a proud Momma. And…now my husband is even more jealous of a fictional character than he already was.
[adrotate group="5"]I’m very interested in seeing what they do with Belle once she finds out. I love how forgiving she is and how much she believes in Rumple, but it’s always seemed to me that she does a good job of glossing over just how many terrible things he’d done before he met Belle. I think this will really test her faith and maybe even make her a little more jaded but I hope they don’t just deal with it by separating them. Make them work through it together. Show you can be True Love and have to still work at the relationship. Especially when you kill to avenge your son’s death – the exact thing your son would not have wanted you to do in his memory. I think Belle won’t let him forget that, and it might be the start of how the DO curse gets broken…the realization that the killing doesn’t fill the hole Neal’s death caused, especially when it goes directly against that person’s wishes. It could be an interesting storyline…or they could botch it.

Ok, wanted to do that little test to make sure….if you go to text mode you can quote. Can’t do much of anything else, but you can quote! I think it still gets a little funky even in text mode, but that’s the best way to do quoting if you want it to include the person’s name and whatnot.

WELCOME ALL THE NEW FACES (names? commenters?)!! And some we haven’t seen in a while!! I think this is actually what’s excited me the most – going through the pages from the last few days and seeing so many new people finding our little haven or coming out from hiding to chat. And of course, all thoughts/theories and opinions are welcomed – for me, getting to come here and talk about our crazy obsession makes OUAT even better than just sitting back and watching!

It is a grey and gloomy day here in New England so today’s articles and interviews have been really cheered me up! I think we all needed it after the last few days! I’m so glad all of our waiting is paying off!! I’m sure there’s plenty of anti-CSers complaining up a storm, arguing that A&E said yes, Hook’s in love with Emma but they didn’t say it was reciprocal and blah blah blahbityblah but getting those comments on top of Jen’s recent interviews where she’s so excited talking about CS and Hook she looks like she peed her pants…yeah kids. Head out of the sand.

@MysteryKat25, you are one of the most diplomatic people I’ve seen around here – and on Tumblr!! You may have difficulty being positive (oh, how I KNOW that feeling!) but believe me, no one would know in your posts and comments because you have an incredible ability to present your opinion – even opposing opinion in a way that completely conveys your respect for others regardless of any differences that exist. So I can’t imagine your squeeing is going to offend even your most anti-CS/Hook friends!Test…

Ok – to throw some positivity into the party –
One thing I’m loving right now…I have no clue who they’re bringing in as next season’s Big Bad. I feel like before 3a ended, a lot of us suspected Wizard of Oz/WW was coming in 3b…but I have no clue what they have up their sleeves for our OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED season 4!
Ok, kids. You’ve talked me back into joining chat on Sunday!! Let’s do it! — But, this is what we’ll do — we’ll enjoy chat and squeeing openly but respectfully. Let’s make it known that we deserve to get respect we’re giving.
The last few posts cheered me up. I was seething until a couple of minutes ago when I read the last few posts on the page. THIS is what bothers me – and jenven can back me up, we were there at the same time. I’ve found that one of the most die hard SF fans is actually a great source to get perspective on ‘the other side’ from. So we started a civil conversation which developed into some pretty good Hook character analysis…CSers, SFers and non-shippers alike (reminds me, I still have to get MP’s thoughts! Anywho,) then….a few have to ruin it and turn it into a “Hook needs to learn boundaries” conversation. Why? WHY?? And this is what got me flat out PISSED OFF – I ask for an example of when exactly Emma told Hook to back off. When did she say she wasn’t interested? ONE EXAMPLE. crickets. Because there ISN’T one. Because Emma HASN’T told Hook she’s not interested, or to back off. The only time she came close was last episode when she was clearly at the end of her rope and lashing out. And even THEN, she simply said she’s going back to NY – she did NOT tell Hook she wasn’t interested. If our girl ain’t interested, she’s going to say so. She has no qualms telling anyone exactly what’s on her mind. And then of course, it quickly turned into ‘we have to change the subject’.
Everyone’s go-to argument is it’s not worth having dialogue about Hook or Neal, or CS/SF because no one’s going to change their mind. But you know what? Having that dialogue, RATIONALLY, might not change the others’ mind, but it might help people see the other side of the coin and ease the animosity. As I said, I have asked some of the most die hard SFers questions, genuinely looking for input and opinion, and it actually helped me understand Neal more. Had these people not been able to have an open conversation about their favorite ship/character, I might like Neal a lot less than I did. But then there’s the comments made just to make anti-CS/Hook comments, and then can’t handle it when the table gets turned or they’re pressed to back up their comments with canon. THAT’S what I have a problem with. THAT’S what ticks me off. Because if I’m going to run my mouth (fingers?) especially in a non-shipper/character designated thread or in chat, I’m going to be prepared to back it up.
Rant over. My other guilty pleasure, Reign, is on, and I am going to enjoy my 2nd favorite ship, Kennash. Thanks for cheering me up with your posts – I hope I’m not bringing everyone down with mine, I just wanted to get stuff off my mind instead if keeping it bottled up… 🙂
