I think ultimately whether ot not you consider the cpr a kiss or even if it was true loves kiss or not isn’t really the point in this scene. Emma and Hook weren’t breaking a curse – their actions CAUSED the curse to enact – Zelena didn’t say it needed to be TLK or even a kiss at all to ignite the curse. Hook needed to declare his love to complete the creation of the curse. However, all Zelena said after was that they had to meet lips to lips for the curse to work and cause Emma to lose her magic. Emma doesn’t have her magic because the curse is in effect. What matters is if TLK will break the curse. Emma and Hook haven’t kissed since the well scene – when they do kiss, if it’s TLK it should break the curse.

I’ve managed not to actually see the 3rd “sneak peek” (although if you’re on tumblr you’re going to get the gist) which is shockingly disciplined for me but I cannot wait!
I always figured Rumple wove it into the curse in some way. Rumple was the Dark One, and as such, did any number of horrible things, but as Belle showed us, he still had his humanity buried deep within.
It was a Dark Curse, and stemmed from the use of dark magic, but when you think about it, Rumple’s motivations for wanting the curse cast are good and pure – he wanted to find his son, and this was probably the only way to do it. He needed a catalyst for the savior to break the curse – and found a way in, essentially, creating a history of his land and his people and including their stories, as well as stories from other realms he’s been to. It’s a rather poetic means of breaking the curse, and I felt it came from that source of good inside him, that he included in his creation of the curse – his love for his son. Creating the book as a means to break the curse was the beginning of his redemption.
What torture!!! So apparently the 3rd “sneak peek” is ridiculously spoilery…I will not let myself be overspoiled!! Which means stay off chat…and the sneak peek thread…any Zelena thread (in case)…and Tumblr…oh, this is going to be so difficult! Thank goodness we have less than 48 hours…Willpower is not my forte, this is going to be a true test for me!
My dears – whenever you worry about Hook, just remember…..ABC is the biggest fangirl of them all. And they hold the pursestrings. Hook’s not going anywhere.
Also, if you hear some of the audio from the interview you see Jen is pretty excited when she’s making those comments. Not, Nick Lachey interview excited, but pretty excited. Hook’s not going anywhere.
And lastly, they wouldn’t be putting Hook and Emma in almost every scene they’re in together. And when Hook isn’t in a scene with Emma, he’s with Henry. Notice the difference between Hook’s screentime and Neal’s screentime before he died. Neal virtually disappeared. That’s called ‘softening the blow’. Hook’s not going anywhere! 🙂
@ellemo78, you know, I really like that theory!!! Ok, if it has to be time travel, that is what shall happen. 🙂 You know, ’cause I said so. And that means….well, nothing.
@Rumplegoldfan – interesting theory! Of course…I think some members of the audience might actually go after A&E with pitchforks if they paralleled what SF fans consider one of their most important scenes with a CS scene. I do like the idea of Emma choosing to go through a portal with Hook. As long as they don’t drop L-bombs in desperation right before it, I’m good…and I won’t fear toooo much for the lives of our EPs!
We are right at the cusp of the CS relationship truly being recognized by both Hook and Emma. We’ve seen parallels between CS and other TL couples…and we’ve seen how different Neal and Hook are in regard to their relationship with Emma. And (I know this is a pipe dream since A&E love their parallels and symbolism, but) this is the point where I’d actually like the parallels to end. I want CS to be completely unique, and not reminescient of, especially, Snowing. One thing that drives me nuts about Snowing is the co-dependency. Emma was so co-dependent on Neal, that it broke her. One thing that I love about CS is their strength individually and together. I love that we’ve seen both Hook & Emma survive on their own; they work together because they want to, and because they know they can trust and depend on each other…ok, Hook’s attempt to get Henry out of NY on a boat with Smee aside…but that really seemed more like desperation and Hook trying to at least try to keep Henry safe if Henry were determined to leave and continued his attempts to do so. But I’m off track.
I’m still not bent on time travel. I still think there’s a chance it could be AU – we don’t know if Zelena is defeated yet…regardless, we do know 3×21/22 will set us up for next season…what if someone’s messing with their heads, creating alternate realities or something. I don’t know, I’m grasping at straws.
