I think the reason this show doesn’t drive me nuts is because I don’t devote much time to specific headcanons. I love seeing what people come up with and seeing if they come true but I try not to get too attached because goodness knows A&E are like little boys with shiny toys! Anything and everything is subject to change in a moment’s notice. So I sit back, watch, enjoy -and sometimes throw stuff at the tv- but I try not to get too overly invested for the sake of my own sanity. It’s tough sometimes though!
[adrotate group="5"]Jenna_BParticipantSince there hasn’t been much about Hook in sneak peeks or spoilers, I amguessing not much CS this next episode
We may not get much CS this ep but what we get sounds like it’s going to be packed with feels!
Emma all stealing Hook’s hook and whatnot. And she sends him cocoa magically! How stinkin’ cute is our girl?!
Jenna_BParticipantSo I remember MRJ mentioning his lil video of our Irishman…um, dancing…forever ago, and just now came across it on tumblr. It’s like, where do you put Captain Hook doing the worm? Where you file that in your brain?
Colin O’Donoghue doing the “Funky Worm”
That is weirdly sexy. He is an adorable freakin geek ass nerdo. I just love him!
Jenna_BParticipantThat’s right I always forget Anna Paquin lived in NZ…but yes, to an American her southern accent can sound…strange. I have a thing with accents probably because I’m a New Englander and our accent gets destroyed by virtually any non New Englander who attempts it.
Ok so Hook and Emma cross the town line cause they can, steal a boat, then go bowling, where Hook can serenade Emma. Sounds like a perfect date to me!
Jenna_BParticipant@HappyEndings – I would like them to go to the EF…I really want to see fish-out-of-water-Emma. JMo was hilarious in the S2 when she and Snow were in the EF – particularly when they’re sitting around and eating and she’s sniffing everything first.
Ok, I’m so glad you posted the Hook & uh, his hook pics, @Surayya! I was thinking about those two scenes. It’s so subtle but Hook’s actions in the two are incredible – and just one more thing that shows the audience how much he’s come to care about Henry as an individual.
Ok, and I have a question for @PriceofMagic – or any other of the Brits – who else is from the UK? I was talking about this in chat but I don’t think we had anyone who could answer. So, as we know Colin does not use his real accent as Hook – to the American ear, it sounds pretty British – but what does it sound like to an actual Brit? Is it a good accent or is it like Anna Paquin – a Canadian doing a not-so-great Southern accent? And why don’t they have Colin use his real accent??? An Irish Hook!!!
Jenna_BParticipantInteresting concept, RG, I’ll have to read the meta. Screwball Ninja’s stuff is usually quite good.
I think the words are always good to hear, and you’re right, they should be said. But sometimes you have to look at the actions that go with them. How hollow is Regina’s ‘sorry I killed like, 1000 people’ in comparison to her now actively supporting Snow? The protection spell around the apt, for example. Though totally useless, because none of them actually stay IN the apt…the act itself is kind. And it comes from a place of honestly wanting to protect Snow because I think she’s finally starting to see the girl she met all those years ago and truly find love for her again.
Hook’s apology to Belle. Totally smart-mouthed. Because that’s how he gets when he’s anxious. And frankly, I still think Belle should’ve punched him in the face to really seal the deal. But, I think it was heartfelt.
Rumple…from the very beginning we’ve seen Rumple’s conflict. His regret for decisions he’s made, especially as they related to Neal. In Rumple’s situation, I’m glad the words were said. Because A&E had to go and screw up that whole storyline. But had they NOT, I would’ve wanted to see a lot more of Rumple showing Neal how sorry he was for his actions, more than seeing him say he’s sorry.
Jenna_BParticipantDon’t get me wrong the winning piece was awesome but even I have to say – we get it Adam, you have a mancrush on Hook. And it’s getting a little creepy. Ok, more than a little creepy.
I’m liking #3 myself.
Jenna_BParticipantI’m in the ‘Actions speak louder than words’ camp. I think all of the ‘redeemed/redeemable’ villains have shown they regret some, if not all, of their past. Regina is probably the one who, on the surface, has shown it the least, but look at that last scene from the last episode – she and Snow are together, with their family, laughing. Does Snow really need to hear the words to trust Regina and accept her into the family? Probably not; this is Snow we’re talking about. Does Regina need to say them? It’s a nice idea, but words are not easy for Regina and I’d say the trust that’s formed between the two far outweighs words said.
Jenna_BParticipantCaptain Hook in bowling shoes!!! I NEED TO SEE THIS!!!!! Yes!!
Jenna_BParticipantWhere do you think Hook would take Emma on an official date?
But wouldn’t going sailing on a boat that isn’t the JR be bittersweet??? 🙂
I’d like to see Hook try to do something that’s totally out of his comfort zone. Haha, like a movie. Can you see him in a big budget action thriller with the sound blasting?? He’d probably be hiding under his seat half the time.
In all seriousness though, how great would a scene like that be? To see them in a moment of quiet, just getting to be normal for a few moments…and see how awkward it inevitably would be.
