This is quite the debate! And I mean that in a good way. It doesn’t seem anyone who’s posted is incredibly hurt/offended/put off by others’ thoughts. And this is probably one of the most sensitive topics that has come up during the show.
I want to add my opinions but my son’s dinner is calling – so now I am going to mull all of these thoughts over and come back with something hopefully somewhat well stated!

Chat can be fun. They went through I think literally every character and decided Roland and Pongo are the only 2 who haven’t committed a crime of some kind. Friday Night Knitting is way more entertaining than it sounds! It can get feisty though. Hence the need to come here and vent like mad! I have been guilty of the post-it too! 🙂
@jenven, do you have a tumblr account? There’s a CS chat there. I don’t think I’ve popped in more than once or twice, though – @Obisgirl can give you more info on that one.The fun of Hook & Emma is the slow burn. It doesn’t need to go any faster than it is, in my opinion. In fact, it will be interesting to see how he handles Neal’s death the more we learn what exactly he knows about everything that happened in the last year, and in next week’s episode.
I’m guessing he doesn’t take it well, and perhaps that is why he’s charged with Henry-duty. It’d be pretty tough for me to believe Hook would be willing to stay away from Emma at such a dangerous time…but having the responsibility of taking care of Bae’s son just might be equally important to him now, given CaptainFire’s discussion in the hospital. Which, frankly, I love. I’d really like Captain Cobra to be rooted more in their relationships to Neal than to Emma. And if they want to take the focus off CS to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR HOOK IS TAKING CARE OF HENRY BECAUSE HE’S MOURNING NEAL AND NOT TRYING TO REPLACE NEAL OR GET IN EMMA’S STINKING PANTS SO WE DON’T HAVE TO DEBATE THIS AD NAUSEUM WITH PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO SEE IT, then I’ll take it!!
Thanks for helping me through my vent folks. 🙂  I really appreciate it.  And thank you PoM – I know we have some differences of opinion on some things Hook, but you continue to try to understand his character and give some excellent ideas of looking at scenerios without the shipper goggles. Its nice to get different opinions that are still repectful.  The thing, and then I’m done,really, that ticked me off the most is that before the showdown in chat, no less than 3 of us voiced our love for Hook…and he negativity still began.  Look if you’re going to start, in chat, KNOWING who is there, then in my opinon its open season.  Inside a thread is one thing especially in youre in a shipper thread.  But in chat?  You gotta be prepared to support your arguments or you WILL get called on it.
I do like the new pics! look at our pirate! Â Its got to be some AU or maybe even a character’s dream. Â Haha I forget who said Emma looks like a potato, but I don’t disagree!

Ok, I’m coming to our refuge to vent a little….
HOW DID I MANAGE TO GET SUCKED INTO THE HOOK ARGUMENT(S) AGAIN?!?!?! WHEN WILL I LEARN?! And why does it bug me so much.
Wait, I remember why. Because I still do not get how Hook cannot have some good in him if characters like Regina and Rumple can. Because every character has some good and some bad in them – one of the main themes of the show. I don’t get it. I ask fans who I would consider some of the more knowledgeable of other characters their thoughts and opinions because I don’t want to back myself into a corner and I want to look at the show from multiple points of view. I’m trying not to watch with ‘shipper goggles’. I grasp that people are upset about last week – I am too, I am not happy Neal’s dead and I’m not happy about how they did it. And I loved his scenes with Emma and Hook and Rumple and want MORE.
But seriously, at some point it’s like, I’m gonna freaking blow. Let’s try something new instead of the ol’ using Hook as the punching bag argument. It’s old, it’s stale. The cell. Hook left her because he was angry – and impressed – and didn’t for a second think she wouldn’t get out. The swordfight. If he wanted her dead, she’d be dead. “But what’s the fun in killing the girl I just met that I’m frankly quite attracted to? Oh, crap, she just smacked me upside the head with the object I forgot I’m supposed to be taking from her. And, wait, love, before we start our swordfight, here’s yer heart Sleeping Beauty. Wasn’t gonna let you go off without that, either.” The bean. “The bean I looked at before I even got out of the harbor and realized my revenge that I’ve hung onto was futile and not worth it? That bean? Let me turn around, bring it back, and lend myself and my ship to go back to the place I was trapped in for 300 years with super-creepy-evil Pan and his equally-creepy-Boys?”
Seriously, people! Rumple dropped his kid down a portal to god knows where!! Regina cursed an entire kingdom because she was sad and blamed her STEPDAUGHTER. Granny slept in the EF with a crossbow because her granddaughter was a wolf and killed her boyfriend. By ripping him apart. Whale tried to ressurrect his brother – that’s just gross. And didn’t Jefferson kidnap Emma or try to kill Emma or something to that effect? I got lost in that twirly magic-hat storyline.
Okie, dokie. Time to breathe. I’m better now. Sorry about the rant, but I warned you!!
In other news, Killy in a new outfit! HOW HOT IS OUR PIRATE?! Sigh. Swoon. Sigh. Hahaha, @Obisgirl, now I need to check out mine…
Primarily, I just want the writers to tighten up their storylines and focus better on the story & main characters. We get it, it’s fairy tale vs real world. We don’t need to be introduced to every. single. fairy. tale. character. and. then. some.  Though I don’t think last episode was their finest moment in some respects, they did handle other subplots quite well. (Hook apologizing to Belle in his awkward way and Belle giving him the crap he deserves for it…CaptainFire…SwanFire, all some good stuff. Then…the last 20 mins. But I digress.) This back half of the season has been some of my favorite episodes, so I think they are starting to focus a bit better.
In terms of ships – yes, I ship a ship. But I also remember this is an ensemble show. Things are not always going to go my way. It’s why though I have a ship, I have a 2nd favorite ship, I like the counter of my ship, I ship the bromances…you see what I’m getting at. So if I don’t see the ship I like become canon, I don’t think it’d cause me to lose favor with the show, especially at this point.
