I don’t think there’s any malicious intent on Hook’s part. I think he knows more than he’s told Emma but the hospital scene showed that Neal did too – they were in on the plan together. And if they don’t want to tell Emma about it, for whatever reason, frankly, they can.
I suspect that though they managed to communicate in the EF, the hospital scene was the first time they’ve actually seen each other in the flesh. And I think both of them showed in that scene that they were sorry for the past and were glad they were on the same team. Neal could have chosen to leave Hook out and he’d probably be pretty much ignorant of the new curse – he may have been in the EF but he was likely as far from Snowing’s kongdom as possible. Hook knows Neal would’ve found a way back without Hook, so he’s honored by the inclusion. Hence the hug it out man-style and short exchange. They acknowledged that they switched stereotypes and neither were still completely comfortable with it.
[adrotate group="5"]Jenna_BParticipantI loved the first half of the episode – Hook apologizing to Belle (even if he was snarky – but of course he was snarky) and how Belle handled it. So very Belle. That gal is the epitome of grace!
CaptainFire!!! Oh, I was so happy to see the two of them. And I’m so glad they put that scene in there.
The 2nd half of the episode…I’m going to need to do a re-watch during the week. I don’t know what I think of it yet. I’m not happy about the death – although, of course, not especially surprised either. I liked the scene between him and Emma — I thought their goodbye was beautiful. But it was like, information overload!! They really could have gotten rid of the last episode and given us more Neal/Belle storyline. My head is still spinning.

Note to all Captain Swan fans….That is all.
Has this been confirmed? I saw people in chat talking about a big spoiler but not what it was exactly…Not confirmed. Speculation. Either this or next episode is the most popular theory/
March 30, 2014 at 1:16 pm in reply to: A special request to all fans of every "ship" (Warning: possible spoilers!) #256760Jenna_BParticipantI agree Sarah_TN, and I’d like to take it a little further. There is so much speculation going on about this half of the season, that seriously if I never hear the words death, wedding OR engagement again, I’ll be a very happy girl.
The message I think we’re trying to convey, is that as a forum, we generally work very hard to be respectful of others and present ourselves and our ideas with dignity. This is very obviously NOT the case in other forums and on other social media sites *cough* twitter *cough*. I’ve seen a lot in the various threads here that is simply amazing – support from non-Rumbellers that Rumple and Belle will be together for much of the season and get the HEA they’ve earned to a very positive conversation about the merits of a platonic Hook and Emma relationship in the SwanFire thread. (Yup, saw it, and as a CSer, was touched!) These are simply amazing – and we should be proud of ourselves for trying to always keep the spirit of the show in the forefront of our minds, instead of focusing on storylines or couples individually.
So whatever happens in the rest of the season – and next season and the season after that 😉 I think the important thing is we keep up the respect and support. And conversely, remember, if someone from a different ‘ship says something like ‘I’m sorry’ if something bad does happen for another ‘ship, remember, it is that support and respect that the comment is coming from – and in no way some underhanded way of shoving anything in anyone’s faces.
Happy Once Day all!!
Jenna_BParticipantWhat a great vacation, RGF! Hahaha, and I admit – I’d be planning around OUAT too – you’re not alone!
I like your ideas about 3×22.
Personally, I want to see Hook and Emma navigate each other’s worlds than rush into an engagement or marriage. I blame that on Colin’s interviews at ComicCon – he put the idea of Hook going on a real date in my head! 🙂 But seriously, I like how the TL couples are so different – Snowing’s married, Rumbelle is established but not married yet, Outlaw Queen is just hawt and CS is a slow burn. Emma and Hook sharing their respective worlds with each other, teaching each other, supporting each other – that’s what they’re all about. So I’d really love to see that happen before they’re suddenly within the confines of marriage. Not that marriage changes anything, but I love that we’re seeing their relationship emerge slowly. I mean, smoochies here and there – and here and there – are definitely ok! 🙂 Just…let them take their course and not jump in head first to the marriage thing.
Jenna_BParticipantMethinks she was trying to, in a not so honest, *projection* way, blame Hook for not finding her sooner, for not saving her sooner, so she could have avoided the whole embarrassing Walsh episode. Blame him for her getting so comfortable in her new faked life. So when he stood his ground and passed it right back at her without getting as angry as he had a right to be(yessss) she tried to go back to the old *wound him first* routine. *You like seeing me have my heart broken?* (she didn’t seem so heart broken when she was back at her apartment after running out on the proposal.)
I LOVE IT!! I think Emma does a lot of reshaping events in her head – “I loved Walsh so yeah I was considering it”…of course, I ended up believing the crazy pirate, and had no intention of telling Walsh the truth and asking him to follow when he showed up that night because she didn’t want him getting involved…and like you said, didn’t seem all that upset when she got back to the apt after the proposal. In fact, Henry almost had to encourage her to even entertain the idea.
I think one of the best things about them is that they know and understand each other’s crap…and they’re willing to put up with it – to an extent. They’re also not afraid to get up in each other’s face. Sure, they both regress a little when stressed – that’s normal, to go back to your comfort zone. But they’re pulling themselves, and each other, out of it. Which fits in with your ideas…Emma will let herself feel upset by the year she ‘lost,’ if you will, by getting angry, and at Hook. And mask it by accusing him of lying to her.
At this point, we are starting to see a new Emma slowly emerging. After her experiences finding Henry and her parents, and then being given positive memories of raising Henry, she’s shown that she’s able to cope better than S1 Emma would have. She can still toss those walls up in a moment, can still use words to wound, but she does it far less – and she recovers far more quickly. Her experience with Neal, and subsequently feeling that she had to give up Henry, paralyzed her for over a DECADE…but as she merges the real memories with the ‘what could have beens,’ she really seems to have softened, and grown stronger – she isn’t constantly on survival mode, like she was even at the end of 3A. She can do her part in getting the WW, but she also allows herself moments (taking Daddy Charming’s advice!), like confronting Hook – not because she thinks he has information pertinent to their search, but because she wants to know. For herself.
Jenna_BParticipantSo I was watching the CS scene in 3×14 when Hook tells Emma he’s glad to hear she got her heart broken…
I guessed I was looking at it from his perspective before, but…Emma was baiting him. And I don’t think it was because she wanted to know what he was doing in the year they were apart. I think his “whenever I’m with you…end up on some adventure” line kind of threw her. He didn’t say it in a ‘pleased’ tone. I think that threw her, scared her, that Hook might be backing off, or thinking perhaps his feelings for her have waned. Emma’s not going to ask outright – but when she retorts to that line with a ‘what were you doing during that year’ and calls him out on his response, I think she really wants to know – because in that moment, she wants to hear something to the effect of thinking of her everyday or trying to get back to her, regardless of the new curse.
Of course, when Hook turns the tables and brings up Walsh, the walls go flying back up. She’s no longer in control of the conversation, and she’s being asked to divulge her own feelings on the topic. So she answers in a way that’s truthful, but also defensive. But when his response is ‘glad to hear it,’ she jumps right back into that place, that kind of exchange that is oh-so and only ‘CS’ – and she wants to know why he’s glad. Because he wants her to alleviate her fears and reassurance that he still loves her.
Of course, he gives it, and she pulls an Emma – seriously girl! Get yer act together!! And ends the conversation.
My point, though is, she still seeks out that reassurance. She’s getting to the place where she’s ready to give in – and she’s letting him know by seeking it out. This is pretty huge for Emma. Until now, she’s accepted his actions and words, telling her he loves her without coming out and saying it. But she’s never really sought them out like she does in that exchange. Our girl’s going to break my friends!!! And I think if Neal’s biting the big one in the next episode, we’re going to see it sooner than we initially expected. I AM LOVING 3B!
And have you seen the pics of OQ and kid from last night??? I AM SO LOVING 3B!!!!!!! 🙂
Jenna_BParticipantI knew Rumbelle would have an excellent storyline this half of the season! This article has got me very interested in seeing what happened/happens. Emilie is a great Belle, and they haven’t utilized her as much as they could/should but it sounds like patience has finally paid off.
TVLINE | But as far as being practical for long hours the Vancouver outdoors, where would you say your wardrobe ranks?
Oh, I’m fine. I’m more of a hot-blooded person as opposed to those who get cold easily. And I love the fashion of it all, so I’ll just triple up the tights or stick more heat patches in my back, throw the thermals underneath….Haha, now that I think about it, she does seem a lot more comfortable than some of the other actors when it’s obviously freezing!
TVLINE | So you’re happy with your Fairy Tale Land wardrobe there? Oh god, yeah. These guys are amazing. Eduardo [Castro] and the whole [costume] dept, its like they’re making a wedding dress every day.
Yes, yes. I hope they’re working feverishly on Belle’s wedding dress!
Jenna_BParticipantI just really, really hope the wedding’s not theirs. Way too rushed. Neither one of them are ready for something like that.
I do love the idea that Hook could only get his hands on enough potion for one person, so he tried TLK hoping it would work, and then he’d have enough for Henry too. Hook was funny when he walked into the apt and saw Henry, like super excited to see Henry too. That’s how it seemed to me.
If Neal does end up 6 feet under – and that doesn’t mean I want it, because I really, really don’t – I think they’ll make a big point of Hook and Henry bonding. NOT to take Neal’s place; rather, to honor Neal. To be the role model for Henry that he wasn’t/couldn’t be for Bae.
And yeah, loving that gifset!!! haha one of the best things about our ship is the fact that we joke and make fun of it as much – if not more than – anyone. I’ve said that before, but it really is true. In the end, this is a show, these ‘people’ are not real, and I think CSers do a good job of remembering that and finding the fun in shipping them. 🙂
Jenna_BParticipantOkay guys, all this Father Killian Jones talk made me download “The Rite” and start to watch it again. Oh my word. That man is just so young and adorable and innocent looking in that movie I just want to squeeze him!! Sadly, the side effect of the movie is that I have never before until this moment actually felt like a “cougar.” He would be worth it.
Haha, if it makes you feel any better the movie’s only about 2 years old…so he was 29-30ish when he filmed it…less cougar-y? 😉 Seriously, though, clean shaven he looks about 15. It is weeeeird.
