Buzzfeed now has a Once Upon a Time quiz! I got Snow White, but I went back to try and see if they included Neal in the answers. I answered to the best of my ability what I thought would get to Neal, and I did it in one try! Here s what they said for him. It’s wonderful and perfect!
You got: Neal You’re a survivor. You believe in realism, even when there are magic spells being cast right before your eyes. You know that the world — well, all the worlds — are full of danger and deception, and there’s no quick fix for anyone’s problems. But that hasn’t made you bitter, it’s made you smarter. You’re an independent self-starter who doesn’t ask for favors, and never takes the easy way out. It takes a lot to get through your defenses, but lucky are the few that do. You’ll do absolutely anything to protect and care for the people you love, even when the cost is your own happiness. http://www.buzzfeed.com/keelyflaherty/which-once-upon-a-time-character-are-you?bffb=
They used this gif for him 🙂
That is definitely a perfect description for Neal — and that GIF!!! Oh, I think it just made my day.

Right, but isn’t 317 the Blackbeard episode? So the flashbacks could be how Hook got the JR back and travelled to our world.
I agree, KFC. It seems like how difficult it is to travel to realms depends on the character who’s trying to get somewhere (and how badly the storyline needs someone to get somewhere!). Rumple: Dependent on magic, magic alone only does so much – and as you said, he needed to get somewhere specific….which Cora showed in S2 can be tricky. ~~~~ Neal: “Lots of things make magic portals” and didn’t he say he got back to the EF because that’s what he was thinking about when he got sucked in? ~~~~~ Magic beans are gone, wait, there’s a bean, we can grow a bean farm! Yeah, the bean is all dried up but Lake Nostos will resurrect it! ~~~~ Ruby slippers/silver slippers/some kind of slippers! ~~~ So what I’m saying is, Neal didn’t seem to imply it was too difficult in 3×12, I’m guessing he’d find a way to get back if not stopped somehow…Snowing’s speech wasn’t that convincing…and if Hook thinks Emma’s in trouble, he’s going to find a way back (and doesn’t have Snowing’s oh-so-not-really-amazing speech to think about….! ) 🙂
Jenna_BParticipantOk, thanks to chat 🙂 two things are really bothering me.
1) What was Emma’s talisman? / Why didn’t she need one?
2) And this is the big one – HOW DID NEAL STILL HAVE HIS APT A YEAR LATER?! Those suckers cost a lot of money, especially that neighborhood? Neal had a auto pay acct with that much money in it?!?!?! Wow, is Neal loaded? Wait, that’s a lot of questions….
Jenna_BParticipantHe tweeted like three times with the hashtag CaptainSwan lol
Haha, I saw that. I think Monkey Man might have a lil thing for our pirate. Hey, it’s a good thing to get the blessing from her ex, right? Even if he is a monkey?
Jenna_BParticipantTee hee, I love that even Monkey Man ‘ships CS. 🙂
(Yeah, can’t figure out how to embed tweets…)

Ok, so gonna try this again…
Jenna_BParticipantHaha, ok kids, I’m loving all of the theories but for me, I’m going to keep the theory pretty simple…no hitching rides or anything (though seriously I would pay good money to see monkey Neal carrying Hook across realms….CaptainFire at it’s best right there!! 🙂 )
I think Philora got the message to Hook (nice theory Slurpeez!). Hook finds out Emma and the family are in trouble and he’s going to jump into action. He said it himself, he’s a pirate – and pirates are nothing if not resourceful. I don’t think that exchange between Hook/Charming was for nothing…I’m thinking things like memory potions and objects are black market items in the EF – difficult, but not impossible to find. Something that, say, another pirate *Blackbeard* just might trade in. Spoilers indicate the two might fight over a boat – Hook gives up his home to get what he needs to get back to and save Emma, and by extension, the family.
I don’t think it’d be too difficult for Hook to find Emma – he managed to find Rumple in NY. Again, resourceful. And he already knows where Neal’s apartment is. He knows Emma and he knows what he’s going to need to do to get her to believe him, even if it causes her pain or he has to pull her off track for a moment to achieve his goal of getting her to listen to him.
The WW needed Regina’s blood to enact the curse. I think she’s the true key this time around. But if the WW has done her homework, she knows Emma is in the same realm, and having her remember/come back to SB/bring Henry to SB could destroy the WW’s plan, so she sends Monkey Man to NY to keep Emma away. Sadly, they underestimate Emma & the family, because Walsh proves to be a distraction Emma’s willing to say goodbye to if her family is in trouble.
Jenna_BParticipantI like the Tin Man theory…but that “kind of liked you” line is really tripping me up there. I haven’t read the books, but in the movies the whole point is that the Tin Man doesn’t need a heart, he already has one…he loves without it. So wouldn’t Walsh already love her? I guess he could’ve entered into a pact with the WW to get back to his own love that isn’t Emma….?
Jenna_BParticipantSo. Much. Stuff! And most of my thoughts and theories already noted, it’s part of the reason I like this thread so much. 🙂
In regard to who sent Hook, I’m liking the ‘it was Philora’ theory. I haven’t had the chance to read through Slurpeez’ write up yet but I caught the gist on chat earlier and in the threads – I definitely like it! I can see Aurora doing something like that – she’s got to protect her child and the WW is absolutely a threat, that much is clear. But I can’t imagine her just standing by and letting the WW at the people she spent time with and who helped save her, and by extension, Phillip. I also like the Rumple one…my only thought about why that might not be feasible is if he is being controlled by the WW, how would he have gotten a message out to anyone? Why would it have gone to Hook? I’m thinking Belle and Neal are going to go looking for Rumple and it seems like he would be the most logical person to get the message to…of course, maybe it was Neal who got the message – oh, forget it! Circles!
I definitely liked the Hook/Charming scene when Hook tells Charming he’s going back to his ‘pirate’ life. It was exactly the exchange I would expect of them – Charming giving him the ‘don’t go’ speech, but knowing it was no use – Hook was going to do what he needed to do. And I think Josh did a great job of showing Charming sees right through Hook’s going back to his ‘pirate’ life as nothing more than Hook’s need to get away from anything that reminds him of Emma. That scene was pure Hook and Captain Charming and shows just how much they already understand each other.
I also think it’s cute that people interpret that scene as Hook ‘returning to S2/villain.’ Precious, even. If you didn’t understand that scene, you simply will never understand Hook/Captain Charming, and really, I think you’re forcing yourself to be a little blind about the character/friendship. Neal and Hook BOTH reverted a little upon their return to EF. And both were half hearted in their regression. And both were totally justified in their regression – it was their way of grieving and coping with a huge loss. Neal gave his “I’m going after them speech” that he loves to give, and was a little too easily talked out of it, in my opinion. If you love these people, REALLY want to get back to them, a little Snowing speech is going to stop you?? No, you’re going to jump on yer horse, ignore Snowing’s little speech and go off on your own for clarity and to figure out how you’re going to get back to Emma and Henry!! Right Hook?! I never believed Hook got duped into going after Emma, and I still don’t. I could see Neal attempting to double cross the WW and be tempted to turn dark – whoever brought up the idea that maybe he would allow a curse to be cast to get back to them — brilliant!
Colin and Jen’s performances were incredible. They have amazing natural chemistry, and it just lets the audience understand so much without a ton of dialogue. My heart utterly broke for Hook, but I think he managed to temper his jealousy quite well when it came to Walsh. I thinkt the scene with the two of them together at the table was my favorite. It was a perfect CS scene. They’re both open and honest with each other, but respectful and aware of the others’ feelings. I love how the they can be together, amidst chaos or painful situations, and they just bring out the calm in and be totally comfortable with each other.
So many other thoughts but I’ve rambled enough – and I haven’t even gotten a chance for my 2nd watch yet!! Regina and Robin – now that relationship is going to be an amazing one too. Snowing just may not bore me to death (sorry HappyEndings! 🙂 )! Those flying monkeys – holy crow were they freaky!! Even though I think I let myself get a little too spoiled, there were still some good surprises in the episode. If the rest of the season continues, I think we’re in for an excellent 3B.
I didn’t even remember Hook and Henry! Ok, CS in her apt was my favorite scene followed VERY closely by the Hook/Henry “what are YOU wearing” scene! And Emma TRUSTS Hook implicitly with the person she holds most dear!! OH THE FEELS!!!! Ok now I’m really done.
Jenna_BParticipantUm, ok, I just watched the ep and there was no hug?? Confused???
Adam’s now saying that the hug wasn’t in the script. Now I’M confused
WHAT?! I didn’t even realize it but you’re right – WHERE WAS MY HUG
Uh, yeah Adam, I’m sure Jen and Colin always embrace on the streets of Vancouver. With a ton of people around. You know, jus’ cause.
Oh, wait did Mitovich just call Adam out on Twitter? ‘Lil different from the screener.’ Teases. They’re all teases. Although I’m enjoying Tumblr’s parallels between Henry and Hook.
Jenna_BParticipant@bo-peeps WELCOME! I CAME SKIDDING IN TO QUOTE THIS NEW INTERVIEW TO YOU BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What can you tease about what happens next with Hook and Emma? KITSIS: Well, we do know that he’s got the hots for her. We’ll just see if he can break that wall down. She’s a tough one to get. HOROWITZ: Emma’s a tough cookie. I’d say, to try to romance Emma, you’d need a hook of steel.
I MEAN, THEY AREN’T HIDING IT ANYMORE GUYS BEFORE THEY WERE GIVING US THE RUNAROUND BUT WE READ BETWEEN THE LINES BUT THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT STATMENT OF OUR BABIES TRUE LOVE-NESS LOL /sobbing
AHHHHHH!!!!! LOVE IT!!!
Geez, I was going to say something else but came in and read Eala’s post and it went right out of my head!
