Argh. Hard to read through some of those lines as much as I’d like to tell (ok, lie to) myself. So I’m just going to stroll along, simply pretending I don’t know about it. Do-duh-dooooo…
Well, she can pull the leather dress off…but it might slow her down when she’s in hiney-kicking mode! haha That’s ok, she’s got her similarly leather-clad pirate to lend a hand. Now that’s an image right there! Pretty overload. Brain melting.
JMo, I love you, and you could make a burlap bag look good, but really, I just do NOT like the suit outfits you seem to enjoy. Especially this one.

Love Day was great! I didn’t get to really participate but I checked in a few times and it looked like everyone was having an awesome time.

It took almost the ENTIRE hiatus but I finally like this exchange. (I hated the ‘good’ response at first, but many metas later I have seen the err of my ways!) I feel like this is Emma’s way of telling Hook to come get her. She knows by now Hook is…determined? Hi, planning revenge for 300 years! Regina has said they will all go back and the realms can’t be crossed and false hope is the last thing she’d want to give someone, but I think our girl knows by giving Hook even a bit of encouragement, he will find a way to her, regardless of what anyone says about crossing realms or how slight the chance is that it can be done. Sigh. Swoon. Sigh.
That whole scene was amazing! The look in his eyes the look in heres just wow! “This is not a contest Hook…” because you already one buddy! lol ok that’s just my take on it but idk I think Emma’s moved to a good place in her relationship with Neal and I think from all the things we’ve seen and heard she might be ready to move on with Hook.
I agree, SK. I actually really like the Emma/Neal/Henry relationship the way it currently is. They’re a mature, adult couple who maybe aren’t right for each other romantically, but that doesn’t stop them from being family. They share a son. They are and will always be family. I think to an extent Neal also knows that. And gosh darn, if they hadn’t been interrupted, I think Emma would’ve gone all girly on us and dropped into a dead faint!!
I think I need to stick to just posting in this thread forever. Anywhere else, there seems to be bad. It’s really sad. The forums used to be a fun, safe Oncer haven. But now? It feels like — repressive. So, how about we post our favorite CS lines from 3A and talk about them?
I agree with you to a degree. I venture out of here once in awhile but I don’t join in often. It seems like you really have to be careful of what and how you say stuff. It’s easier to not partake.
Sometimes you do. Chat can get out of control quickly, and I think it’s just because everyone is writing and it’s real time and you can’t always tell how serious someone might be. When it comes to chat, I think you just have to take a look and see who’s around and if you feel like it’s something that might get you started, or not a topic you’re particularly interested in (sorry RG, you all always lose me with the knitting! 🙂 ) you just don’t join in. What I like about chat is you get a lot of people who look at the show in a very different way than you might, and you can get some great thoughts and ideas from it. RG and MP have been trying like crazy to divert the conversation when it seems to be getting testy, but they can’t literally be in chat 24/7…I suppose they should be allowed to eat and sleep and potty SOMETIMES.
@Obisgirl – you summed it up! I like this game, good idea. 🙂When I read the betrayal one, I thought of Aurora and Philip…they’re considered good and the other spoilers on various sites said they keep something from the others when they return…maybe it could be perceived as a betrayal by some.
I agree with those who said the “I can’t be happy without him” sounds like perhaps a Regina line…and maybe Snow trying to talk her through it? Didn’t the other spoilers mention Snowing discourages Neal from finding Henry & Emma because Regina gave them a good life – so Snow is trying to explain the same to Regina? (Or what that a theory?? I can’t keep the spoilers from the theories straight anymore!!!)
I think I just dismiss a lot of the negativity because most if it is ‘shippy – and let’s face it, the spoilers and pics and promos have ROCKED for CSers. I mean, I wouldn’t be crying into my pillow if it were another ‘ship getting all of the attention. When you put it in perspective, there’s far less negativity here than on Twitter. Now that’s just a complete war zone. But you must stay here, at least, @Obisgirl! You all must! I’m saddened that Eala feels she needs to take a break, though I completely understand it, we all occasionally need breaks from the insanity, and really hope she’ll pop in once the show starts up again so we can all analyze and analyze again, and then over analyze! Less than 2 weeks to go and at least we’ll have that! So hang in there, everyone! 🙂
Yes, let’s talk about 3A lines!!
My absolute favorite is in Dark Hollow, when Hook tells Emma he ‘will win’ her. I can’t remember the exact words and I’m too lazy to go look for them, but we all know what line I’m talking about!!
I know some have argued that this line shows Hook thinks of Emma as an object to be won. But I completely disagree. Hook isn’t saying what he thinks of Emma, he’s talking about himself. He WILL become a better man, a good man, a man that Emma deserves. He will become worthy of her. In this moment he’s saying he’s done with the revenge, the hate, the selfishness. I don’t think he is alluding to Neal in this exchange either. His competition is himself, the challenge is to not give in when going back to his old ways seems like the easier or even more satisfying route. To me, this is the first time in S3 he really vocalizes or acknowledges his desire to change to her. (Of course, he let his bestie Charming in 3×5 know he saved David because he’s Emma’s father and she couldn’t stand to lose him. Tee hee.) It began when he turned the JR around and went back in S2, and they show many scenes where Emma is noticing he’s trying to change, or that he really never was completely bad, but this is the first time (to me) that he says to Emma that the change is real, and he’s taking it seriously. Because he doesn’t just love her, he wants to deserve her.
OMG, Emma’s body language in Dark Hollow. If she were really repulsed and offended by what he was saying, I don’t think she would be standing that close to him and smiling like that.
Agreed! I love that Hook tells her he’s going to win her and not by trickery – man has got a way with words!! – but her response is amazing. It’s her who closes the gap between them, and she’s breathless when she does respond. Such a good scene! But then, any CS scene is a good scene. 🙂
I think that’s what bothers me about her so much – I just don’t get why Rumple was suddenly the ‘village coward’ and how this was so awful. Yes, what he did wasn’t brave but it wasn’t the worst thing in the world either. She seems to be the major catalyst in why Rumple thinks so little of himself and why he considers himself a coward.
I don’t think we need to see any more of her and will not be upset if we don’t! I do like that she ties Rumple, Neal and Hook together – those connections, how they formed and why they are the way they are now are by far the more interesting stories.
I agree with you, @Amy41, in regard to Milah’s choices concerning Bae. As a mother, I can’t imagine ever leaving my child behind, no matter how unhappy I am. I wouldn’t stay in the relationship with the child’s father ‘for the child,’ because having experienced parents in an unhappy marriage who eventually separated, I can say with certainty it is never better to stay together ‘for the child’.
I also think she’s a little harsh when it comes to the ‘village coward’ stuff. Maybe because we don’t get to see the village reacting to Rumple after he returns from the wars, but I don’t think it was necessarily the worst thing that any human did in the history of all the realms, like Milah makes it out to be. I do think part of the reason Rumple becomes so incredibly weak after he returns and before he becomes the Dark One does have a lot to do with Milah and her treatment of him.
Um, yeah, so you could say I don’t like Milah. 🙂
Hook and Milah’s relationship is a little cloudier for me. I don’t believe he was lying to Bae when he told Bae he could stay with Hook and they could be a family. I think, being abandoned (because yes, I also believe he was abandoned by his father, and felt abandoned when Liam died), he probably had a lot of problems with the fact that they left Bae behind in the first place. But what was he to do? He’s not Bae’s father, the decision to take Bae with them had to be Milah’s – and she chose to leave him behind. Maybe he shouldn’t have let Milah come with him…I don’t think Milah gave him the option to stay in the village and settle down because the reason she fell in love with Hook is because of his adventure stories. But then, even if Hook left Milah behind, I’m not certain she would have returned to Rumple and Bae. I also do have doubts that they would stay together forever because they were sooo in love…but that’s getting into a whole separate Captain Fire, Hook’s real reasons for revenge headcannon!
Is Milah a villain? Are any of the main characters true villains (Pan & Cora aside)? She’s no more of a villain than the Dark One or Evil Queen. She’s terribly flawed, and (in my opinion, completely unlikeable!) but she’s not evil to the core. I could see her turning into a ‘bad’ person like Dark One or Evil Queen, had she not embarked on the specific path she chose to take, or died so soon after taking that path.
