ETA: The well just seems like such an irrelevant reference.

The well has the power to return things that were once lost. Seems appropriate in this relationship.

Even though it was a wedding, it almost had the feel of a funeral. Dark One’s influence?

Sure, he wouldn’t have known enough to tell her about her family. But you would think that any explanation would include:
“Oh, you know the evil, magical Queen who captured you, tormented you, imprisoned you and threatened to execute you?  You might be running into her around here. She’s our mayor. Don’t worry — even though she’s still magical, and she still has a rotten disposition…”
To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t know how to explain Regina to her.

I loved that Belle’s father gave her away.  After the severe beating he got from Mr. Gold in the first season, it amazes me that he would participate in their wedding.  Would hate to be at their Thanksgiving dinner table.

Real life love is easier than this story.  What actual good did magic do?  I can understand horrible ironic twists as the price of black magic.  (As in unintended consequences of the wishes from a genie).  But this was supposed to be white magic, with fairy dust.  Really, what did magical intervention actually do that was any different from the sloppiness and heartache of real-life love?

Emma is a bit of a bull in the China shop.

And was kidnapping Marian and pulling her through the portal really the right thing to do?

I don’t think Emma’s character is able to leave someone behind in prison to be murdered.  Maybe theoretically it was the wrong thing to do.  But it wouldn’t be Emma-like to leave her there to be executed.

Yeah.  I guess I got mixed up on my timeline.

The only measure of Regina’s “redemption” is whether she reacts differently to the same sort of occurrence that caused her to become the Evil Queen in the first season.  If she reacts the same way, she really hasn’t changed at all.  If she suffers the pain and becomes stronger for it (in a healthy way), we will see some virtue coming through.   I have a feeling, especially since she used “White Magic” just recently, that she won’t revert back to the murderous queen.
