We know it will happen this season (right?!) and the writers have already told us that Pinocchio did send the postcard. But I don’t think he has sent it “yet”. Go back to the season opener: the first scene is Neal receiving the postcard, the second scene is our introduction to Aurora and Mulan, the third scene is when we get to Storybrooke. But, now look at the “real” time line. It starts in Storybrooke and our hero’s don’t go to after-curse-FTL until the end of our Storybrooke story. So, that tells me that Neal receives the postcard much later than the season opener. Maybe we’ll see Pinocchio (soon hopefully) sending the postcard and then Neal receives it and that’s when he makes his entrance. Who is? I like all of the theories.

I continue to believe that Snow wrote this book. She was preparing for this curse. She had been warned on her wedding day. She was told by Rumple her daughter would break the curse but how would snow explain all of this to her daughter as she (is supposed to) raise her in this strange land without magic. She wrote the book for Emma to read a she grew up and prepared to begin the ‘Final Battle’. But, alas, Emma went through the wardrobe ‘alone’ and I believe Snow somehow grabbed the book and kept it with her as the dark curse came over them and that’s why she had the book in Storybrook.
But I can’t wait for the day they choose to reveal this because I have given it a lot of thought and can’t wait to see what spin they give the author of our book!

I don’t think he is Bal.
He is clumsy (phone out the window) and I think that is somehow an important clue to his identity.
The age doesn’t really match up. He was 14(?) when he came to ‘our land’ and here Emma is 17 (11 years previous). How do we explain Bal aging about 10 years from his Fairytale exit to being just a few years older than Emma 11 years prior to Rumple’s prediction to curse broken.
I do like the theory that he is Peter Pan and the suggestions behind that

About the book, I still think Snow wrote it in those last few months of pregnancy
