ParticipantRe the necklace: Snow summoned Rumple INTENDING to pay whatever price Rumple would have asked of Charming. We don’t know precisely what Rumple may or may not have told/given Charming to make Excalibur happen, but there had to be a bit more than we saw for Charming to come up with the idea and make the sword.
So while he phrased it as wasting his time, I think he had a legit claim to the necklace, even if he thought the whole thing silly.
And, like almost always with him, he gave them choices. She chose to pay Charming’s price, whatever it was; she paid something.

ParticipantWhen the ship took off I gasped. So pretty. Lived up to the movie-every-week concept for once.
And actually this is the best ep without Rumple & Belle ever. And this is coming from a SF girl. (And yes, Hook & Emma were superhot even so.)
…That said. I’m annoyed that Belle has only been in 2/5 eps so far this season. Really annoyed. Adam keeps promising she’s not forgotten, but he keeps HAVING too because she feels so forgotten.

ParticipantYeah, the timeline tells us that he couldn’t have drunk it unknowingly, and that he was already Pan of Neverland before he became the Pied Piper. Both interesting tidbits.

ParticipantI think Bae was closer to 4 or 5 when Milah left, but I’d give him a top age of 7. (I picked 5 on my spreadsheet. Gives Milah/Killian almost a decade together.)
But while I think it’s ambiguous as to whether Bae was born before Killian turned pirate, it’s got to be close. So…yeah, we’ll stick with Bae’s birth coming first just cuz narratively I like that better.
But this was about Pan, not the timeline :p

ParticipantMy initial four guesses:
–Belle (wouldn’t it be awesome for her to finally FINALLY get to talk to Bae?) And Also Pan’s thing seems to be messing with people psychologically–what better weapons could he have against Rumple than the pair of them?
–Rumple (unlikely considering how powerful he is, but possible. Not sure how it benefits Pan, but hanging him and Neal up together could result in some kind of teamwork/reconciliation.)
–Robin Hood (which leaves lots of questions about how he got there, but if he and Regina are somehow connected…)
–Roland (*sniff* No….though this seems particularly unlikely because nobody on the island save Neal has a reason to care about the kid, and if Pan DID get him, he’d turn him into a lost boy asap)

ParticipantThat’s true. And we’ve known at least since Broken that he doesn’t feel worthy of Belle…every time she leaves, he pretty much puts that out there. (I’m quoting from memory so I might be off in the wording slightly.)
–201: “And now you must go, because despite what you hope, I’m still a monster.”
–204: “I’m a coward…” (the first time he confesses this openly to her)
–211: “After everything I’ve done, why haven’t you left me?”
And in 304 he lays it out there: She sees the real him, so when she gets over her delusions that he can be good, she’ll be gone. She knows he’s a coward, she knows he’s done horrible things, she knows he’s lived a life of craven self-interest. She knows what he became when she wasn’t inspiring him to be on his best behavior. He wasn’t good enough for Milah or Cora–how could he be good enough for Belle?
Okay, pausing to mentally cuddle Rumple better now. Sorry. Feels.

ParticipantGoing off the idea of people leaving Rumple, or him driving them away (which is the worst bit for him)…
Belle’s left him a number of times. She left when he let her go, but came back. She left when he told her to Go and broke everyone’s hearts, and while she tried to come back it took her 30 years cuz Regina. And then she left AGAIN when he lied to her (my theory for why the kiss in Broken didn’t work, cuz he was scheming to get around his promise the very moment he made it–not a TL thing to do), but came back and for once wouldn’t leave when he told her to. But she DID leave when he wasn’t honest with her in 204, twice, and only came back–this time on her terms and more slowly–when he did tell her the truth, oh, and gave her a library. (mm library)
And then she didn’t mean to leave him (any more than Bae did when he fell through the portal) but she DID leave him in 211 cuz she lost her memory…and in 212 she was desperate to get away from him. She was starting to come back when boom Regina makes her Lacey, and leaves him hanging…twice. She only came back because he gave up being good.
And when she did eventually come back, as herself, it was just another reminder of his failure to be good (or bad) enough for her–he hadn’t won her love back as Lacey; he had to rely on the sneaky fairy. And then HE had to do the leaving, because the redemption he’d always sought, winning Bae back, had been snatched away from him forever and the only chance he saw left was saving Henry.
And now even her visions leaves him. A lot. She comes back…she always comes back, thank goodness, but she’s left Rumple way more times than anyone else. No wonder he has trouble trusting that THIS time she’ll still come back each time.

ParticipantI don’t think CS is going to let us skip 305, dearie.
If something deeper than a vision is going on with Belle, that could be interesting. I admit I’m kinda frustrated by the lack of Real Belle, too…oh, and the let’s just forget she exists every other ep thing. I hate it because if they lose Belle like they lost Red, they’re morons. And I don’t want to think they’d do that.

Participant(oh, and the tummy poof? I dunno, having worn bodices like that and seen them enough IRL, I think it doesn’t point to pregnancy at ALL. Perhaps a tiny bit of weight gain, but I don’t think it really looks any different–it poofs out a bit in Skin Deep, too, and the way it’s laced matters (it actually changes at an odd point in Skin Deep–it’s x laced in the conversations before she gets thrown back in the dungeon and then v laced in the final confrontation between them, so I’ve been toying with the timeline implications of her having relaced her bodice. I suspect that wasn’t meant to be a signal of anything, though–perhaps just a wardrobe mistake or someone deciding one or the other looked better for a scene–and who knows what was filmed in what order. ANYWAY…the angle you’re sitting at, the angle you’re looking from, the exact way you’re sitting–all affects the boning, and different boning materials curve in different ways, and Emilie’s not in the least fat but she does have a softer body–which I love, she’s not playing a hardcore athletic type and shouldn’t have rock-hard abs–so I think it doesn’t mean a thing, in short.)
