I dreamed very vividly that they had done some animated sequences (a spin off or something for the DVD extras). In this case, Belle was pregnant (dang popular theory slipping into my dreams) after a year or so of being married to Rumple, and he was giving Maurice something to drink (it was definitely some kind of poison) in a building that a few moments later everyone was fleeing because it was on fire.
The animation was beautiful though.

I very much like how you defined canon here.
Term you might consider adding: Fanon. Stuff that isn’t from the creators but that many/most fans accept as at least a fan truth. Okay, so what I did was I set up a list of chars and basically you find two chars and where they intersect, that should represent their relationship. I don’t have all the ship names on it yet. I made it editable if people want to help/argue!
The characters are sorted by more or less how many times they’ve been on the show, but there were some that got omitted from my original list that got tacked onto the end. And some characters wound up kinda far apart from people it would make sense for them to be next to in the list…so, sorry.
Colorcoded most of the relationship types I was looking at, so that ship names/other descriptors could be written in.
Suggestions? Criticisms? Juicy arguments?

You can’t, no, but endgame is a term that gets thrown around a lot in shipping. And a lot of people assume that Snowing and Rumbelle are endgame (I’m not gonna get into the SQ claims…*backs away slowly*) because of TLK and the centrality of the characters.

Well, I think “endgame” is a good concept to add! I didn’t see anything wrong with your definition on the glossary page for canon, but I kinda object to saying that Swanfire’s not canon when they’ve been in a clearly romantic/sexual relationship in the past and said ILUs right before Emma thought he died. That doesn’t make them endgame, but it definitely makes them a canon relationship at LEAST as much any other short of TLK, certainly on par with Regina/Daniel and others where a party has perished. And of course since one is gravely injured and the other believes him dead, it’s not canon that Emma thinks she’s in a relationship with him right this second.
And yeah, I’m really wrestling with these definitions cuz I’m trying to chart how all the characters in the show are related to each other. It’s, um, a big chart. Not quite the size of the timeline, but…

I suppose that gets more into what the ship names mean than anything else, then–rather than what canon means.

Well, there’s a difference between a canon relationship, canon TRUE LOVE, and canon end game.
I mean, Killian and Milah were definitely a canon ship. Possibly True Love (Rumple said it, so…maybe). End game? Only for Milah. Killian’s clearly gonna have a second chance at romance.
So I think you can argue that Swanfire/Swanthief has canon status–they’ve said I love you in both past and present–but that doesn’t mean it’s endgame.
Canon for me means that it’s been shown to be a romantic relationship on the show–overtly, not just hints. So I’d say that Swanfire is/was canon, Captain Swan not quite (yet). No way to tell which (if either) is endgame yet.

What I think would be interesting is to work out who the CHARACTERS ship. Like…
Rumple ships: Rumbelle, Snowing, Swanfire (and he’d never call it Swanthief), and he’s pretty anti-Millian. Was a fan of Golden Hearts before he got dumped, and then hated it…but he still wanted all the details.
Charming ships: Rumbelle (enough to wingman for it), Snowing (hard), and definitely not anyone with Emma yet (she’s still his baby girl!). Not at all a fan of any other ship for Snow, either, though he broships her and Red happily.
Emma ships: Rumbelle (kinda), Snowing (but she doesn’t want to see the smut), and she’s been back and forth on Swanthief & Captain Swan. However, she also ships Flook and Henrybon, and she’s a fan of some of the less popular ships like Ashley & Sean.
Snow ships: Snowing (hard), and shipped Regina + Leopold as well as Regina + Daniel when she was little. Oh, she was a hardcore shipper of Red & Peter, too. …Actually, maybe Snow better not ship anyone else. It’s a good thing she’s got reservations about Dwarf Star.
Regina ships: Stable Queen. Possibly herself with Graham, but she’s very anti-Gremma. She acknowledges Rumbelle but hates both the parties so she keeps trying to sink the ship. And she pretty much wants everyone else dead, so…she’s not much of a shipper, actually.
Henry: Ships Snowing and Swanfire like crazy. I don’t think he ships Regina with anyone yet, but he’d be okay with someone who got his mom to stop wanting to kill everyone else he loves. Does he even know about Rumbelle yet (oh, he might–Emma mentioned it in front of him in 221?)? Not old enough for the smut anyway. Definitely ships Henrybon. Not a fan of Gremma. (You kissed my mom?…if only he knew.)
Belle: Ships Dwarf Star and Rumbelle like crazy. Possibly also a fan of Philan or Philora, but would take whichever made her friends happiest–she’s a casual shipper there. Totally ships Romeo and Juliet. I think she would ship Frankenwolf if she hadn’t lost her memory just about the time they got closer. Don’t think she’s a fan of Millian or really Hook with anyone, and while she probably doesn’t know, I don’t think she’d be a fan of Golden Hearts either. (Nobody gets to hurt her Rumple.) Also not a fan of the Belle/Gaston pairing.
Hook: Ships Captain Swan but goes back and forth on it, and ships Millian harder than anyone else. Ships himself with the Jolly Roger. Not a fan of Rumbelle. Broships himself with Cora (he did tell Regina they were friends).
Neal ships: Swanfire pretty hard, though he figured it wasn’t going to be canon and shipped himself with Tamara for a bit. He’s not sure about Rumbelle. I think he might have shipped Baby Bae and Wendy for a while, but things happened. He does ship Henry with food, though, and isn’t a fan of Millian.
August: Totally shipped Swanfire. I think that’s his OTP and he doesn’t really care about the rest much. Of course now he probably isn’t bothering with shipping at all.
Blue: Not a big fan of shipping. Anti-Dwarf Star. Thinks things should just focus on friendships and family, not romance.
Leroy: Ships Dwarf Star hard, even though it’s painful. Not sure about Rumbelle but could see it. Fan of Snowing.
Red: Shipped herself and Peter, and seems to ship Frankenwolf. Ships Snowing but isn’t really a Rumbelle fan (she thinks Rumple’s all wrong for Belle). Flirted with the Billy-Ruby ship but that ship got sunk. Does ship Ella & Thomas, though.
Granny: Not in favor of most of the Ruby ships; thinks she needs someone she hasn’t met yet. Possibly ships herself with Geppetto. Definitely a Snowing fan, though. Secretly likes Rumbelle because she can be twenty times as snarky with Gold when he’s behaving himself for Belle.

Had one last night where I wound up for non-spectating reasons at a high rise where famous people lived. The elevator was magic and would only move if people with good intentions were on it. There was a bank in the building, and Lana and I stopped a bank robbery–she kicked the robbers and pursued one of them while I held the other down. And then Will Smith was thanking me, and gave me a hug saying something about celebs being regular people. And then he let me play with some little babies he had in his apartment.
It was very weird.
