Well, basically what I wound up with when I tried to make the months/days match up to known dates was 2011=27 AC (after curse) and 1983 = 1 BC.

So in a way it’s a little confusing, but it means that October on the timeline is October instead of January.

Yeah, that could be the case.

Anyway, if anyone’s been looking at the timeline on the website…I’ve been working on it a LOT the last few days. In the process, I’ve also been making some corrections and changes to my own timeline. The biggest thing is I’ve been trying to work out how to account for known dates (like Emma’s birthday, Valentine’s day, etc) in the timeline, since if we go by curse years (as in the day that everyone wakes up from the curse is 1/1/0 (or 1/1/1)), the software thinks it’s January 1st instead of October 23rd as we know it to be. So I did some remathing around the dates that have a known corresponding earth date, both in my timeline and on the site’s, so that the months would correlate.

That means I’ve got weirdness like half of season one happening in year 27 (you’d think 28, but Emma doesn’t turn 28 until October 22nd of that year…). I’m not sure how better to resolve it atm, unless I just go with earth years as well (and at this point, I kinda could).

I’ll be posting a newer version of my timeline after I decide how to deal with a few more things and finish what I’m up to on the site’s timeline. (I’ve got everything that happens through the curse breaking now, but that leaves all the present stuff from season two yet.)

There were some interesting things that happened as I adjusted the dates, however. I decided to go with Bae’s birthday matching the one on Neal’s wanted poster, for example, and wound up with the Seer’s warning being about the Ides of March. Miner’s Day wound up on Snow’s birthday. Snow and Charming’s public wedding wound up exactly a year before Emma’s birthday.

Of course, all of that stuff was initially based on rough estimates anyway–days relative to the events before after and random educated guesstimates–but I didn’t see the coincidences until I remathed a bunch of stuff to figure out month/day. And they’re too pretty for me to want to change now without good reason.

As always, though, I’m open to feedback on both versions.

But oh we have such delicious anticipation to tide us over the summer. And when fall comes, there’ll be Hook and Neal and Belle and Rumple and Regina and the Charmings and Emma and Peter Pan AND Wonderland…lots and lots of Once for us. And plenty of time for us to spin theories, timeline, write fanfics, etc. (and find a job if you happen to be Keb…)

I dislike Milah rather intensely, but. Hook loved her, and apparently with him at least there was TL between the two. Rumple once loved her. She was capable of risking her life to save someone she loved (she faced the Dark One for Killian’s sake). She did TRY at least a little to fix things with Rumple, asking him to go elsewhere where her life would be less wretched. And she’s still Bae’s mother–and Baelfire is too wonderful a child for his mother to have been completely rotten. He’s selfless and brave and true and loving, and he could only gotten some of that from his father. And whether or not she “never loved” Rumple, she did act supportive and loving toward him before he deserted.

I still think she’s a horrible person in sum, who did horrible things (when she tells Rumple he should have died rather than coming home to be a father to his son…gah–almost more cruel than any of the killings on the show, srsly), but she’s more than just that. And I think we may learn more about her between Hook and Bae in the coming season that may round her out more. In fact, I hope we do.

Well, Bae’s right in a couple of ways about Rumple and Hook being alike–one of them being their shared taste in women :p And with the Lacey personality added to the group, it is clear that Milah, Cora, and Belle do have some shared personality traits along with superficial physical similarities. There’s the thirst for adventure that Belle and Milah shared, and the desire for power and respect that drove Cora and Milah, and a lust for power that Lacey shares with Cora. And all three of them are intelligent and have a slightly rebellious inner strength. Their differences are huge–but one can see why they might all have found themselves in a relationship with Rumple. Hook’s relationships with them are all different, of course, but the only person we’ve seen teamed up with him for longer than Cora is Smee, and he does see Belle as desirable when he’s not looking at her as an extension of Rumple.

I’m wondering if Belle will reevaluate Hook at some point, actually. She made a pretty severe judgement about his heart but generally has a good sense about people…but when she made that judgement he was pretty deep in his revenge-mode. And vengeance has been repeatedly shown to be the quickest way to a black heart in this show–it’s Regina’s desire for vengeance on Snow that makes her so evil, and Rumple’s warning seemed to be more about vengeance than the actual killing itself when Snow initially wanted to kill the queen.

If Belle and Bae both warmed up to Hook, that would be really hard on Rumple, since he already lost Milah to Hook and almost lost Belle to Hook (albeit in a different way). But it might also force him to see Hook as a person rather than an adversary. And it might help Hook to see Rumple as something other than the coward who murdered Milah.

There is such rich delicious potential for character development between the four of them. I hope at least some of it plays out.

Oh, and incidentally, he would have been pretty close to 15 when he met the Darlings. He was 14 when Rumple became the Dark One (that same day), and about six months passed before he left FTL (I think it was something Morraine said about the Ogres war that made me think that?). He was in London for six months before he snuck into the Darlings’ house. So if he’s not quite 15, he’s darn close.

I have a feeling that at some point I’m going to have to adjust a LOT of the years on the timeline for various reasons. And a lot of the stuff seems to be much tighter that it initially appeared to be. When Bobby said that Rumple was 300, it was pretty early in the series, wasn’t it? They didn’t yet have the Neverland stuff in order then. More troubling is Neal’s comment about being a couple hundred years old, since even 1858 (and the clothes could work for 1858–fashion’s a lot more fluid, than we usually assume) puts him at only 169 years old in 2013 (assuming that he’s then born in Earth Year 1844, 14 years before Big Ben is completed, and comes through the portal the same time he left–and if not, wth, cuz the other portals we’ve seen have been instant). Of course, 169 is still pretty old, and still puts Rumple at over 200 (I assume he was about 35 when Bae was born, for various reasons), but just barely. It does hurt my poor timelining head though.
