Wonder if Gold will hear how Neal left and his undoing will be that he tells Regina and Emma to take Henry and Belle somewhere safe and try to find his son and -he- will deal with the silly rock. He hasn’t exactly been willing to sacrifice himself for anything since he became the Dark One, so that would be a pretty powerful thing for him to do.
But my money’s on Emma saving the day with her magic instead.

KebParticipantI’m still wondering if Belle can/will ever learn magic. She does have a “superpower,” and the only other person described with a superpower so far is Emma, who is magical. (Of course, I also wonder how much magic ability Rumple will hang onto when/if he’s no longer the Dark One–he clearly added onto the Dark One’s knowledge/abilities over the years.)

KebParticipantHard to say. I think it wasn’t the magic per se she hated, but the fact that it had hurt him. “I’ve seen what magic does to people,” she told Dreamy. Yet she was pretty quick to accept Dreamy’s word that the magic he was offering was good magic and could help people. And once Rumple explained that he was only using magic to try to find his son, she took him back. She just doesn’t want the magic corrupting him, making him evil–like she told Regina, “I could [love him], but something evil has taken root in him.” So if he can do magic without being evil, she’d probably be down with that.

KebParticipantI think she might hang onto her love of rock music, and maaaaaaaaaybe, at least in private, admit that she likes a bit of Gold’s darker, rougher side–as long as he isn’t actually hurting anyone. She already was pretty fearless, which I think comes out in Lacey as brazeness, and she was capable of drinking like a dwarf back in the EF–but those things I think she’ll tone down both for her own safety and for others’.

KebParticipantWell, however much control Regina had, there are parts of Belle in Lacey. She probably will be a bit horrified that she let them out, or went to the excesses she did, and certainly that she encouraged Rumple to go darker. We’ve seen how a few of the chars are coping with it–Ruby is dressing more conservatively, Snow’s defensively saying “we were cursed!,” David’s doing his best to be Charming again, Leroy’s back to being the royal guard, etc. So she will probably go back to mostly Belle.

KebParticipantNames are important and powerful in the show. Emma’s name was powerful enough to wake Rumple from the curse, for example. He collects them as a matter of course–Jiminy delivers both objects and the names of their owners. Rumple knows the name of Hansel and Gretel’s cursed father–possibly partly because he knew of the compass, or because it was right in front of him at the time. And he couldn’t find Robin Hood properly without both the bow and the name that he got from the Sheriff. The true name of the Dark One is written on the dagger and Rumple can apparently be summoned through his name (if he wants to be).
Just because he didn’t use it as a secret password to get out of Cora’s contract doesn’t mean they’re not really important and really powerful in the series.

KebParticipant(and perhaps someday I’ll upload more of the sheets in my original spreadsheet…you guys don’t even know…)

KebParticipantBut the BF may be infinite in age, since she’s the “original power.” Rumple at least has a beginning, and one that we can place roughly 300 yearsish somewhere. However, I just played some games with the timeline and adjusted it to Rumple being 300 when Emma comes to SB rather than 300 when the curse breaks. That still puts NL stuff at 1788 Earth time (still about a hundred years too early for the London portrayed), but whatev. Also worked out some formulae to make my calculations easier for the different ways I’m marking the years, and added an Emma Years column. And yes, that means that 1983 is 0 AC and that’s not how BC/AD work but I don’t care.

…and now, back to grading papers.
Oh. But updated file:

KebParticipantI’ve been using Rumple’s age as one marker (with the curse as the other, and a few Land Without Magic dates that we’ve been given as a third) because besides the Blue Fairy, he’s the oldest known character and the events of his life are kind of the framework for the show. But yes, he could be significantly less than 300 years old–perhaps 200–I just think we don’t have enough data to assume otherwise right now, when we’ve been given that number. (Though I am thinking of adjusting the 300 to his age when Emma is 28 rather than when the curse is cast on my Timeline–it makes the gaps a generation smaller, at least.)
And yes, time travel always makes my head esplode. And the apple thing has been bugging me ever since season 2 started. I was okay with it in season one because Gold tells August something about “traveling through time and space” when Bae went through the portal. When FTL time and LWM time appeared to be synched up, it messed with my head. And now they’re telling us that not only does aging stop in NL (good, fine) but time also moves -faster- there?

KebParticipantThe oddest bit of the time issue is that Wendy suggests time DOES move differently in NL–it felt like much LONGER than one night while she was gone. Which doesn’t really help the timeline one bit.
