I dunno. I half think there’s more history between Rumple and the Sheriff. Gold said he should have beaten the man years ago before Lacey shows up–but so far we’ve only seen that one lecherous encounter in FTL.
There must be more to this story. (please let there be more. I love when there’s more.)
And I do think that beating up Keith is going to come back to haunt Gold big time. He made the wrong choice. There’s going to be consequences.

Being good isn’t getting them anywhere, so they give up entirely. Emma had a couple moments like that in season one, though not as severe (she just uses less-than-legal methods for investigation, rather than, you know, tricking her stepmother into killing her step-grandmother, plotting to kill her son’s entire biofamily, or beating a man who was just trying to apologize into a pulp…).
I find this theme so terribly relatable sometimes. I mean, we all get frustrated when doing the right things the right way doesn’t bring us the results we think we have earned. Don’t worry, I’m not planning to beat any sheriffs into submission anytime soon. But yeah.

KebParticipantYou’re welcome. And yeah, I use the freeze panes stuff all the time–also split the screen so I can work with both the fairybacks and the present timeline at the same time. I don’t have nearly enough of the parallels in, but I add them as I discover them.

When he realized what he would have been doing by killing Robin Hood, it hit super close to home. Belle saved him from committing a crime he would have hated himself for later. (You know, more than he already hates himself.)
I’d say it also reflects a blossoming affection for his caretaker, but I think that’s what his logic was in his mind.

KebParticipantOh, the spreadsheet is going nowhere, trust me. I might put my efforts toward Timeline Light once I get through some of the tweaks I’m making on this one (the scene thing, mainly), and that would be easier to transfer (I hope) to a Pretty Format for the spreadsheet challenged.

KebParticipantIf you download it and open it in proper excel, you can make the lines as big as you need.

KebParticipant*blush* I’ve been working on it since about the time I started posting here. I finally caught up with the episodes on the main event line but there’s still so much to add.

KebParticipantI’m happy for any feedback/corrections people want to offer. I’ll try to update the online version periodically.

KebParticipantWe have a few dates to go by–we know that Skin Deep includes Feb 14 2012, and the newspaper in Welcome to Storybrooke plus the date in Selfless Brave and True confirm that Emma’s birthdate was the 22nd of October, 1983. The events that are closest to those, we can derive reasonably accurate dates for, but for most of it, yeah, it’s wide open.
I’ve been handling it by giving an estimated year relative to the curse, an estimated year of Rumple’s life (since that doesn’t have BC/AC stuff messing with it), and then having the first known event of that year be Day One, with each event that day getting its own counter. It’s a highly imperfect system but it does give me some flexibility to move things around as needed when new data comes in.
I’m also currently going back through and cataloging the scenes so that one could put the episodes together and see how they flow on the same spreadsheet, but I’m -so- far from done with that. Or the bit where I look at what each character is doing at each point in the timeline where they are present…
You guys might have an inkling of how insanely obsessed I am. And that’s not even looking at the rest of my personal spreadsheet which has, among other things, a page trying to calculate how many deaths/attempted murders each character is responsible for and how many times each character has been behind bars.

Also, I think I’m gonna post this in a separate thread so people can give feedback. Should that be in fan creations or general discussion?
