Okay, between Emilie’s interviews and Adam’s tweet a little bit ago saying that it wasn’t amnesia that Belle got from crossing the line, and Welcome to Storybrooke…
Crossing the line (post curse, post magic) didn’t wipe memories per se. It reset the Curse. Belle during the curse had no specific memories. And because things mostly reset from day to day during the Curse, she couldn’t really retain memories from one day to the next. And THIS explains why every time someone mentions Mr. Gold to her, she says she doesn’t remember him. Time’s moving so she can remember a little bit–she remembered being healed and she remembered the fireball when Red came to visit her a day or so later–but the Curse is actually affecting her as it would have when it was universally in effect.
Poor Sneezy 🙁
And that would explain why Regina can still give her a new character, the way she did with David when he woke up–because she actually is under the Curse again.
I do wonder, since she apparently had mass control over the citizens of SB during the Curse, whether Kathryn actually had any recollection of a marriage before David woke up, or if Regina just made that all happen and the curse took care of the accompanying stuff, like the photos.
Also, David clearly remembered at least some of the things that happened between waking up and the cursed memories setting in, and apparently Belle will too, but it does seem to seriously mess with your head. And he had flashbacks later on, perhaps because the curse was weakening around him…wonder what the effect will be.
Oh, and Emilie said something in one of the interviews about drinking with the dwarves? Please please please let Leroy be looking out for her!

KebParticipantRumple might be willing to help Gregmara get Regina, even if he wasn’t involved in the actual torture sequence. After all, his deals have always been pretty binding, and he DID promise Belle HE wouldn’t hurt Regina.

KebParticipantI think Emilie’s statements tell us why it was so important to see Rumple & Cora’s relationship, beyond the complexities with her death. He’s been with the girl who loved his darkness and power and that did not go well for him.

KebParticipantHe does in that one promo tell (Regina I think?) someone that “There will be suffering.” Wonder if that’s Lacey or a later ep.
But I’m rooting for him to choose good, 100%, and bring Belle back and be Grandpastiltskin and Papa and be mostly happy.

KebParticipant…I wonder if Adam and Eddie ever get wind of how ridiculous we get with this analysis and laugh their heads off. (I’m enjoying this discussion, but that doesn’t make it less silly how desperate we are to work out whose hand is on the gun!)

KebParticipantAnd Emma’s been known to point her gun first and ask questions later. Like in Skin Deep when she showed up at Gold’s house and the two of them were (sensibly for the moment) pointing their guns at each other until they established that neither was the thief and Gold lowered his first. So if she burst in being all Sheriffy, she could totally have her gun aimed at Neal for a bit.

KebParticipantI’d much rather it was Emma pointing the gun at Neal cuz she probably won’t kill him. I woke up with terrible theories spinning in my head this morning–that Neal’s going to die or almost die and Rumple will have to try to save him–or Henry will have to try to save him and use the candle to trade his life for Rumple’s–and so now I’m just chanting to myself “hope and faith, hope and faith” cuz Neal dying would just crush all my favorite characters way, way too much. (I don’t think Rumple would actually get killed off–him or Regina–cuz I don’t think there’d be a show left without either of them–but…)

KebParticipantI’m having visions of Robin Hood from Shrek singing “When a beauty’s with a beast it makes me awfully mad…” now.

KebParticipantAdam said on Twitter that usually you have to be born with a spark and then trained in magic. So, I’d say that it’s likely that Regina was always capable of magic. Likewise Cora.
Whether that makes her a magical creature or not is another question.
