Mrgh. That’s NOT two years ago. That’s about 1.5 years ago at best.
And it still causes a lot of trouble with wait, where was Aurora and/or Phillip then? Several weeks definitely passed, but…
Oh well. That confirms it’s post-Curse anyway. I can work with that.

I’d love to see a name from Oz lore for the baby, but I’m skeptical that they’ll go there. They’ll probably name it Marian or something totally weird for Roland to go along with naming Neal after his uncle’s father & sister’s dead beloved.
Em and Dorothy are right out, as is Glinda (and yes, probably Elphaba). I’d love to see it named Ozma or Tip(Tippa?) but I think that’s extremely unlikely (though the story of Ozma/Tip would be a fascinating bit of magical trans-representation if done well…not that A&E seem capable of that).
Betsy for Betsy Bobbin, a recurring character later in the series.
Jinjur, for the leader of the all-girl army in The Land of Oz.
Polychrome, for the daughter of the rainbow (and maybe a hope she won’t just be green).
Any of the Ev names from the land of Ev (which is near the land of Oz) are probably out because we’ve had an Eva and an Ava already, but some of those are pretty: Evanna, Evedna, Evella, Evirene, Evrose for girls’ names (and they have a brother named Evroland at that).
Langwidere for the creepy princess with all the heads (combined with Mombi in the Return to Oz film with terrifying effect)–has a nice Guinevere feel to it in honor of Zelena’s friendship with Arthur.

Hook has never been a completely healthy choice for Emma–they might truly love each other, but Hook has always been vengeful, prone to things like blackmail even at the height of his goodness, and has stated over and over that he’s only reforming for her sake. So what happens if he loses her? (I admit that’s the fear he’s been dealing with this season–he knows he’ll go back to the dark side without his savior raft.)

The fact that Rumple and Belle made it into the promo is about all that I care about with this ep right now. *sigh* Bet that’s 90% of their screentime right there, too–probably 99% of Belle’s.

Well, all my criticisms from before hold true, but I have to admit I loved Merida’s story and seeing Mulan and Ruby again.

Hook didn’t acquire that house. Emma somehow set up a reverse curse or something to bring them back. Emma claimed the house that Hook had circled in the paper, nothing more.

They’ve planted many seeds and promised to water them with nothing following. We still don’t know how Phillip got his soul back, and that story we were promised. Will’s presence in Storybrooke post-Wonderland DEMANDED explanation that we never got (and probably won’t). And let’s see…Rumbelle, which compared to a LOT of promises is pretty visible at least…well, we get told their story will be explored and they had basically a cameo in the two hour special. They’re even regulars. (Yeah, we got DO Rumple Vision but that’s NOT THE SAME CHARACTER.)
OUAT often feels like the wasteland of missed opportunities to me. I love so much of what they do…but so often they reach for the next shiny thing instead of fulfilling the brilliant promises they make, utilizing the excellent cast members they recruit, and really telling vibrant stories that are character-driven and have the maximum impact.
