As for Will “sniffing around” Belle, they made it clear that Will & Belle have at least been friends for a significant period of time (you know, inside of six weeks) with the coffee from Granny’s. Will asks for the regular, gets two cups of coffee with no questions, and Belle has one of them when the QoD stop by the shop.

But if that’s all the freakin’ history we get for this so-called ship, I’m gonna join RG in smashing things. You don’t destroy two of the most beautiful, complex relationships EVER like this with no foreshadowing. And there was none, outside of spoilers. NONE. The only time they have been in the same room in four seasons and a whole miniseries is when Belle called Emma to tell her there was a thief/vandal/trespasser passed out in her library.

I get that they want their drama and suspense. Fine. Explain it next episode by giving Will and Belle LOTS of screen time to explore what went wrong and why they might have any kind of interest in each other.

But they’ll never do that, because it’s Belle and she doesn’t get screen time outside of the rare Belle-centric. She’s not Hook, after all.

Of COURSE deep down Belle didn’t want Rumple to be gone forever. She was angry, rightfully so, and she was doing what she had to in order to protect others from Rumple’s plans. She caught him in the very act of attempting murder, after all.

But it was killing her to banish him, and she still can’t stop thinking about him, hoping he’s okay.

We’ve also seen him fight the will of the person holding the dagger a few times, like with Zelena. You also notice that she was able to persuade him to do things without using the dagger, even though she had it on her–for her, that was the ultimate power trip, making him play dolls with her. So I think it’s got to be a conscious command, even if it doesn’t have to be verbal.

IF Wonderland starts at the beginning of S2, then there’s been maybe a year since that wedding.

Now, there are two loopholes: Alice may have embellished the ending of her story–we don’t see Will & Ana together ruling for all that time, just a drawing of them as king and queen. Also, Alice’s daughter appears to be 5 or 6, which means that this postscript would have to be in the future from where we are right now. This would then just be a bump on the road to the White King & Queen ruling happily ever after.

One further possible loophole that just gives me a headache: They did the time-travel bit AFTER the missing year, which means that…it’s possible…Emma, Hook, and Zelena (?) messed up the timeline for Wonderland and that’s why Will’s in Storybrooke instead of with his TL. That would mean that the happy ending we saw in Alice was in an alternate timeline from the one our characters now inhabit. I…really dislike this explanation but fear it might be where they go because it’s just convoluted enough they’ll think they’re shocking us more with it.

(I love time travel stories, but trying to reason them out just gives me a headache.)

If I’m remembering right, she ordered him to leave. He said he wouldn’t be able to come back, she said, “I know.” She didn’t order him never to return, because she didn’t have to.

With Belle, she ended things, she has every reason to believe that it’s not even possible for Rumple to return to town (until the QoD return, and at that point she’s already decided to…do something with Will), and so even if there hasn’t been a divorce, they’re as separated as can be. (It feels VERY different from Robin’s waffling over his wife’s frozen body, at any rate.)

But at the same time, it’s so clear that Belle is NOT over Rumple. At best, Will is an attempt to fill the hole Rumple left in her life, and I believe she’s the same for him with the hole Ana left (however that went down).

I will accept it IF and only IF the relationship helps both Will and Belle find their way back to their true loves. Not a distraction (though I’m fine with it causing Rumple some serious conflict/character growth), but an actual character-driven thing–that I can deal with.

If it’s just, lookit, we’re gonna break up Rumbelle and we need a love triangle because love triangles are awesome and angsty and look how our fans react to them! then, No. Just No.

Will ain’t over Ana either, or he wouldn’t be drunkenly breaking into the library just to clutch an inaccurate drawing of her.

There’s no way this is going to last. But if both of them truly believe (as Belle has every reason to right now, and I’m assuming Will’s situation is parallel in some way) that their True Loves are lost to them forever, it’s not cheating, either. And I’ll buy that it’s a human thing to do to try to fill the emptiness left by the loss with something or someone else.

Doesn’t mean I -like- it but I want to see how it plays out before I judge.

–Rumple gets Charming to implant the egg in Maleficent
–TLK breaks the sleeping curse
–Snow & Charming take back the kingdoms
–Wedding & Regina’s threat
–Regina takes the curse from Mal/Charmings have their honeymoon
–Everything we just saw in this episode
