My mother’s been watching with me and she’s confused constantly as is :p
Two things: Regina was still married to Leopold when she almost met Robin. (Apparently Tink didn’t mind that it would be adulterous either.)
Secondly…Rewatched Lacey last night. I know it was a different actor, but when they first made the switch it wasn’t so hard for me to buy that they were the same man; now it’s positively jarring because he really feels like a different character altogether. That aside, the Sheriff of Nottingham said that Robin “stole his love” from him, meaning Marian. (Which makes a delicious parallel to how Belle/Rumple describe what Hook did with Milah.)
They never told us if Keith survived his beating, but I’d really really love if they’d bring him back in to wrap up Marian’s side of the OQ story, whatever happens.

I rewatched Lacey today. I was prepared for the Rumbelle feels (heck, that’s why I watched) but I hadn’t remembered the SF feels from that ep. Neal makes such a good daddy.

Rumple does actually love Belle. He might be more worried about what she’d do to herself than her finding out about the lies. He’s taking a gamble on those, and he knows it, and probably believes she’ll either forgive him or leave him eventually no matter what happens.
But even if his desire for what the hat can give him is strong enough to make him choose it over being honest with Belle, he does love her and want to protect her. He’s not just in this for self-preservation, even if that is a strong part of who he is.
I realize that S4 has only given us three scenes that weren’t cut to actually see Rumple’s softer side, so it’s easy to assume he’s lost it completely, but I still see it there. He might not put Belle ahead of his goals with the hat, but he’d definitely do anything else to protect her.

Except they HAVE cast curses for “good” reasons. Like when they used the sleeping curse on David. And when they cast the Dark Curse to get back to Storybrooke.

I love it because it feels SO true to their characters. (And yes, I still love Frozen.)

Well, the fairies did come up with the antidote for memory loss.
I think Curse is a subclass of spell, though. We also know curses can be passed on through potions and the like. I suspect that since they tend to be negative, the price for casting them is probably darker (ie, the heart of the thing you love most) than for other spells.
One of these days I’ll finish up cataloging the kinds of magic we’ve seen. You know, when I finish the timeline.
