I think it would kind of be the reverse of Snow’s–black with a spot of pure red (or even gold…hehehe). His love keeps him human…as long as he has someone to love, his son and/or Belle, he won’t completely succumb to the darkness.

That’s based on what the Blue Fairy said, though, and she’s sketchy.

Well, they actually touched on the book of records in Oz (ACTUAL OZ LORE OMG). That functions similarly–recording everything that happens as it happens.

It would be neat (but I doubt they will) if they connected the two volumes somehow–if there are books like this in multiple realms.

I so want to see Rumple have to work hard to win Belle’s trust back…I’m scared they won’t show us that, though. I mean, we barely got any of that with the memory loss/Lacey plot at all and it could’ve been so much more than it was.

But I’m worried that they’ll either have Rumple give up on her (because he feels he doesn’t deserve her and she’s better off without him…I’d like to think in part he asked her to marry him to make HER happy, not just because it’s what he wanted) and go full on Dark One or have her go back to him without making him work for it.

Here’s where the affair really gets to me, WR:

With Snowing, it was ugly and awful but Snowing getting back together ultimately restored happy endings for all the parties directly involved (including Snowing’s daughter, who finally got to know her parents). Frederick and Abigail ultimately benefited from Snowing being reunited.

There is, with the present setup, no way for Marian to benefit from this affair. Her true love is also Robin Hood, and she certainly didn’t get 30 (or even 5) years to get over him.

For Regina to have a happy ending with Robin requires someone else to lose their happy ending. And that’s been her destructive belief from the moment she daydreamed about killing a preteen Snow White: that for her to have a happy ending, someone else has to suffer. She undoubtedly got that belief, along with love being weakness, from her mother, who used her power to make her own daughter suffer for the happy ending she wanted.

But that doesn’t make it right. There is no good ending for Marian here, and if she’s suffering, her son suffers too in some ways.

The pixie dust doesn’t fix the fact that OQ hurts Marian at this point, no matter what. Regina’s happy ending shouldn’t require anyone else to suffer.

I’d love to see Henry Sr. revived somehow…but if he can be revived, would that mean Daniel, Neal, and a host of others might return?

The way they’ve set up OQ to have no real happy ending (it’s not happy if Marian has to die/lose her family just so Regina can have sexycrypttimes, I’m sorry, it’s not) has made me begin to wonder if they are going to make it a temporary ship. I just can’t see it being endgame the way it’s set up right now.

So…theories on what might happen if/when it ends?

So today I was ruminating (more…I confess, something about a hiatus right after zero Belle apparently does this to me) on what Rumple will do at this point if Belle tries to leave him.

My first instinct is that he will let her go, as we’ve seen him do before when he either felt she was better off without him or she indicated she WANTED to leave him. (112, 201, 204, 212, 219). It’s happened enough and between his own self-loathing and love for her, that such an action would make sense.

Yet there are a few other reactions that he might have that also have grounding in his history and could be interesting.

One, he could attempt to reform and be that better man she believes he can be. He did try that in Lacey, the Outsider, and The Crocodile (with varying results). And while he made an exception for Zelena, I do believe until he found that hat he had every intention of following through with his vows to Belle and Bae of being a better man at the end of S3/start of S4. It could be the kick he needs to reform, and she might decide not to leave if she had any reason to believe he was working towards it.

Two, he might spiral into something even darker than we’ve ever seen without her to hold him back. That could get scary, especially with a lot of people already feeling he’s crossed the final line with the hat.

Three, he might attempt to force her to stay with him somehow. I don’t believe he’d do that if there wasn’t some other thing involved, but if he thought being with him was protecting her, he’d probably do it.

You’re absolutely right about Neal, and you’re right that Rumple WOULD hurt Emma. I just don’t think he generally wants to. Not the way, say, he wants to hurt Hook or even Regina. He’s downright vicious against people who he believes have hurt him, and he is capable of cruelty/murder to innocent people who get in the way of his goals (poor Honora). In general though, he seems content to ignore anyone who isn’t involved in his plans in some way (which, okay, is most people).

And he even seems to sympathize a bit with other people’s victims (reminding Regina that she did kill off an entire village, yanno, maybe not the best way to win their love, the way he talks to Tamara before killing her, and perhaps his comment about not betraying Storybrooke to DQ after all…), though rarely enough to help them if there’s nothing in it for him. He is, as he told Emma, fundamentally selfish…even his loves for Bae and Belle have been selfish in their expression at times, despite the fact that there’s no question he truly loves them and is capable of being selfless for them.

There’s also a theory running around that people from the hat may be released somehow…so it could be a step in the opposite direction.

And while Ursula is a goddess and we know Mal has magic (or did before she was killed a couple of times?), it’s a big question what villainy we’ll see from Cruella. Now, some of my favorite villains from the show haven’t actually had magic (King George!!!) so it would be interesting to see such a villain in play (since Hook is apparently going to just be a puppy/puppet for a while).
