I like the idea of Grumpy being the old acquaintance, that makes much more sense than it being Smee IMO.[/quote]

Yeah it just makes more sense to me. Her being in the mine cart, Grumpy working in the mines….

I think maybe Smee sees her arguing with her father and offers to walk her back to wherever (the library) it seems. She thinking he’s being a gentleman takes him up on the offer and while their walking back they get to talking about Rumple (or he already knows about her and Rumple and just wants to know the extent of their relationship and figures he can use her as a bargaining chip to get Hook back.

I really don’t think they’ve met before though.
To me the mine, the mine cart and her seeing Grumpy again are all connected. I just haven’t figured out how, lol.

So, I’m honestly think that the whole Belle runs into an old aquantiance (Grumpy being the old aquantiance) and it possibly being her undoing and the dwarves looking for fairy dust in the mines and Belle being trapped in the mine car are all connected.

I do think that the parallel exsists between Belle and Mahil and the tavern exsists, obviously but I really think Smee is just going to see Rumple giving Belle the necklace (or whatever he gives her) and see the connection between Rumbelle and she going to be a casualty in the Hook and Rumple war.
