If I were Colin and I saw heated passionate debates about my character I would know I was doing a good job. That’s the whole point of his character….he’s the bad boy people love to hate or want to save.
That being said, it’s easy to find lots of love for Hook everywhere. He’s kinda taking over most boards and forums with his fangirls. This is all a two way street. If you see negative threads about him…ignore them. When I see positive boards about him, I ignore them. There will always be people who disagree with you and if it’s ruining the experience for you then avoid it. It’s just a tv show….not the end of the world.
[adrotate group="5"]NobodyParticipantIf you had said this last season, I would have thought you were crazy. But after their chit chat, I agree! Whalewolf forever! 😀
NobodyParticipantI just don’t see any redeeming qualities in Hook. Yes, he’s easy on the eyes and charming but he doesn’t have any remorse for any of his wrong doings. That is what sets him apart from Gold/Rumple. He at least regrets letting Bae go and has been trying to rectify that situation. We’ve seen that Rumple started as a good man…flawed but essentially good….redemption is possible. We haven’t been shown anything (yet, I know we could see it and I could change my mind later) that shows that Hook can be redeemed. Plus, he would be a horrible step dad.
NobodyParticipantWhat do you think is in the little bottle the giant is holding at Granny’s diner counter?

I kept expecting Emma to ask more basic questions like where are you from? where are you going? What do you do for a living? any people we need to contact about your condition? For a couple of reasons 1) to see if what he says matches any documents found on him or in vehcile, 2) Memory issues, 3) to give the audience more info.
Asking about contacting others would give a heads up about the possiblity of more outsiders coming.I agree but the more I thought about it the more I figured if she asked a bunch of questions like that he might reciprocate…..If she doesn’t ask too many questions he might not ask too many questions. I think she is going to have to be pretty subtle in finding out info on him so as not to peak his interest too much.

It would make sense to me if he wasn’t the Dark One any more. It explains away the kissing not having an effect, (you know that’s not the only time they’ve kissed in SB…there was that scene where Belle woke up and noticed he wasn’t in bed beside her, so there’s been kissing), because if he’s not cursed, then there’s nothing for the kiss to fix. But that dang Broken scene just doesn’t jive with that! GAH! *headdesk*
Could the dagger still have held a certain amount of power, the way Regina’s trinkets did? Not running at full capacity, but just enough juice to perform a trick or two, like summoning a Wraith?
Maybe he just likes to call himself the Dark One because it gives him an edge over others…playing on their fears and it’s really only the dagger that retains some of the magic from the Dark One curse, like you said. I wouldn’t tell people I don’t have all my powers. Let them believe I am capable of more than I actually am. It’s not lying, per se, just not correcting an assumption.

Interesting idea. One of the things I liked about Ruby being the one to bond with Whale was how it was a play on the classic pairing of Frankenstein and the Wolfman.
I’ve always thought of Victor’s world as a fictional Transylvania (Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein). I was hoping in Child of the Moon that we’d find out they all originated from there.
That’s where I got the idea from!!! I couldn’t remember but now I do. I like that idea. 😀

I like the idea of Jekyll/Hyde going with science theme.
My first thought was Dorian Gray because I like the old black and white movie. I agree the old Universal movies would be a great start!

I agree that they could be using the other characters mentioning his immortality as a reminder to the viewers. But as always we can’t be 100% sure until we see it. I wonder what make the difference between True Love’s kiss and just kissing….good question.
It will be interesting to see how these answers play into Rumple’s and the dagger’s powers since they are all connected.
February 1, 2013 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Does Rumple’s Dagger Wield Any Power in Storybrooke? #171263NobodyParticipantWe don’t know if he is immortal still…he was frozen in time like everyone else for 28 years but now that time is moving again he could be aging. We have heard people say he was immortal…Emma told Hook in the hospital for example but do they know for sure? If he is still immortal and still the Dark One then why didn’t Belle’s kiss break that curse? They have kissed since magic was brought back. So technically, he shouldn’t have those powers anymore. Is it possible that he is only partially the Dark One? If so, which parts/powers? How does that affect the daggers powers…
