ParticipantThe greek version of the fates as spinners definitely applies, but I think it is but one guise the BF uses perhaps. The other verison I linked besides the Moirae, is the Norns, and what stood out there was Ygrdassil, the magic tree. We saw pixie dust grows on trees right, and we associated fairies with it.
We also know there are literally magic trees, in the cabinet and what Pinocchio ‘s source tree. BF associated with those. Regina also has some kind of thing with her apple tree, if they are going to get into that at all.
Beside these three norns, there are many other norns who arrive when a person is born in order to determine his or her future
Norns Wiki That sounds to me like Barries idea that a baby’s laugh made fairies a little bit.
Now the Norns are divided into the past, present and future. In the myth they were originally from Jotunheim, and Giantesses (hello beans!), but also there are references to them being kin to Dwarves. (scroll down on the wiki page).
It is further said that these Norns who dwell by the Well of Urdr take water of the well every day, and with it that clay which lies about the well, and sprinkle it over the Ash, to the end that its limbs shall not wither nor rot; for that water is so holy that all things which come there into the well become as white as the film which lies within the egg-shell,–as is here said:
Again from that wiki page, the reference to a well, and holy water. I remember August’s speech at the well about if something would be magical, it would be water. THen there’s the NL spring that keeps you young.
That poem the quote is from continues:
That dew which falls from it onto the earth is called by men honey-dew, and thereon are bees nourished. Two fowls are fed in Urdr’s Well: they are called Swans, and from those fowls has come the race of birds which is so called.
.
Now in some versions, the youngest of the Norns is Skuld who sees the future (the Seer, a child and then young woman, contrast to the older spinner ladies).
Anyway not sure which influences they’re bringing in to their show here, but I definitely think these 2 Spinners seem…Sneaky.

ParticipantOh one more thing: Just remember that before Emma was on the JR with Hook, she was on it with Neal, & they jacked it to save Rumple! So he can have a ride in the bug, heck Jefferson had one too. We should wait to see context about the bug spoiler.

ParticipantThe casting department for Once is fantastic. The only slip up is August and that is likely because they wanted people to think that August was Bae. Rumple had to be temporarily fooled to think it, so the audience would have to be, also. If they’d have August be red-headed or auburn-haired then we’d have guessed it immediately and never mistaken him for Bae. Otherwise, the Once crew is spot on. If only the marketing department was a fraction as successful as the casting department. Run by monkeys, they are. (Yes, ABC, I’m still looking at you!)
Sure August is a slip up now?

ParticipantHey thanks for info on PCA. Good to know.

So I don’t know how to spoiler a photo, but RG probably knows the one I mean. Hm….there is some parallel to the look.

ParticipantRG: I keep adding to my NYC theory, but trying to figure out how it fits into the “manhattan” anniversary timeline thing. I’d like it really if in the 315 or whatever it is Emma sort of establishes she’s done with Hook, even if she’s not ready to be with Neal. Maybe Neal gives her the necklace again after he gets released from jail telling her she can trust him to always be there for her, as she was for him. So they aren’t “back together” as in dating/I love you….but it’s sort of softly hinted that they’re growing back together, but she is still saying she doesn’t have the room to “date” him because its all or nothing, and they don’t want to hurt Henry by getting his hopes up, it needs to be right for them. Sort of reverse parent trap I guess? One thing people slam SF with a lot is that people only like it because it is a nuclear family unit thing, or it is want Henry wants, not Emma really herself. So I’d like it if they approached the other way–its despite they have a kid they get back together.

ParticipantI think you have to be logged into twitter then you copy the url after seeing details page, not the link to embed code.
It does move fast lol. It’s ok, just jump in with anything at any point, like chat. It helps when rampant speculation is out there plus all the media fan fare.
I think with the whole PCA thing, the show is completely downplaying the triangle as a triangle right now. When is that thing over? Who even chooses for it? I mean you want chemistry–Snowing pours out of the screen right into real life lol. I don’t like shipping actors but they are cute Ginny & Josh.
I just wonder if the show might do something crazy like based on spoilers have Neal actually go to jail to take him out of the show to let CS happen, because they cannot kill him again without having Hook water ski over Jaws or something..
It is not the writing but the way the media/marketing handle it, to where it does not even make sense.

ParticipantApparently not. lol That is why I think it was a rush to get to NY.
The other thing in the BTS pictures Emma is looking at pictures so Greg and Tamara maybe, if Neal is accused of having something to do with them “vanishing”. Of course they’re dead but they did have real world identities.Or if Tamara’s grandfather was the adoption agent maybe something to do with that?“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. ParticipantGood questions HE….in my NYC theory I’ll add something about the photos–Greg and Tamara maybe, if Neal is accused of having something to do with them “vanishing”. Of course they’re dead but they did have real world identities.

ParticipantOpera13: I think maybe Morraine was just a girl, but also a tool of the fates in that they planted the idea in her mind. Or they impersonated her.
In the thread on Pan and Malcom someone brought up that the clock on magic in NL started when Malcolm broke the rules by deciding to stay. I wonder if something similar had already happened in the Enchanted Forest. To expand the “Fairy-momma” theory for Rumple, if fairies are not to love, and Malcom romanced one and she died, and he was stuck with the baby, and that fairy was one of 3 important fairies in the land, it could be a huge problem. We saw only 2 spinners, after all.
So maybe Blue (in disguise as Spinner) puts in motion a huge chain of events to try to restore the magic in EF , before it too runs out of magic, just like in NL. So she pretends to Malcolm that she’s just a nice old spinner lady who’ll look after his boy. That’s why these ladies have a bean and give it to Rumpel. They have the gift of sight to be able to guess at what paths might make certain outcomes happen. Eventually one of these fairies goes bad (Maleficient!) and Blue tries to train replacements but never really finds anyone good enough (though Nova and Tink come close but being a master fate fairy is hard, because there are so many times you actually make things worse by trying to help!).

ParticipantHm interesting …can’t wait for this episode. (Please let baby Henry spit up on her, pull her hair or wet her and have her get flustered until Granny takes over…just one of those not-so-glorious mom moments …).
