    36) If you’re a lower-level crew type pirate, and you visit the Echo Cave, remember that  despite the old rhyme, sticks and stones might break your bones, but words can really, really, really, hurt you.  Either that, or you need a map because you are that hopeless half of you will get lost in a 1 room cave.

37)If you pick up a sea conch, remember ring once for Squid, twice for Mermaid. Inter dimensional call charges may apply, including second chances at reuniting with lost Prince loves.

    38) Amateur hour lasts longer than an hour.

Poor Greg! I am still sad every time I think about his horrible life.

Yeah 🙁 but he made his choices, lost his way by blindly following orders.  It is tragic all the same. (Sorry…I have to do it, it never gets old to me just like NL itself… R.I.P.P.P. Greg!)

Slurpeez, you do raise some good points.

I suppose I’ll have to see the whole scene in context, but maybe Hook really shouldn’t be bringing it up at all.    Whale didn’t even get a word out and Charming punched him, but of course, Neal doesn’t have the right to feel possessive of Emma.  So Neal can’t even do more than feel annoyed and try to stay calm.  Since it was a peek, I just gave Hook the benefit of the doubt there, that some other stuff happened that set some context up for him to be sincere with Neal because I’m just hoping they aren’t doing the cheesy 2 men fighting –but now I’ve read the recap…and I’m losing hope.  When  Emma gets mad at the guys for fighting, which they shouldn’t be doing,  I hope she doesn’t blame them equally but she probably will.  The thing is, its like Regina and Snow going at it.  Emma might feel “I don’t care who started it, you’re acting like children”–but we all know its usually Regina who makes it a fight, it’s Regina who generally has persecuted Snow, and so saying “there’s been bad acts on both sides” (as I saw people do in the “Fairy Tale Court” thread by PoM)–seriously?  Do we not pay any attention to the type and severity of the bad acts, is it like Eva and Cora are “even”–yeah, she tripped me, I poisoned her,  glass houses and all that….NO!  You’re not “even” or equally responsible when one person resorts to deadly force, that person has escalated things and deserves blame for it.  Now Hook didn’t exactly try to kill Neal, but he did try to kill his father, and did hand him over to PP, and if he’s bringing up kissing Emma knowing the guy loves her and all that, well you’re right.  Hook’s pushing buttons, as he does, and Emma might not be aware of it.  I’ll have to just wait and see how it plays out though, but it might be a rough couple of weeks.

Since it might be rough, I’m just going to remind myself about the Zen story “Maybe”, it’s one of those old standards….

    Maybe

Once upon the time there was an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. “Such bad luck,” they said sympathetically.

    “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. “How wonderful,” the neighbors exclaimed.

    “Maybe,” replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

    “Maybe,” answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son’s leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

    “Maybe,” said the farmer.

    (the end…or is it?)

Let’s face it, until the “happy ending” we’re never going to know for sure which way the wind is blowing, even if there’s magical wind and what looks like TLK.   The writers can drag this thing out forever if they want, or they can stick a fork in it and declare a “winner” –or they can have Emma walk away, and introduce a new love interest for both guys and who knows.  Since Emma is not a known fairytale they can really do whatever they want, and at any point what looks like a good thing could turn out to be bad.

Hope– all that was supposed to be in Pandora’s box, not for nothing I think.  Hope that first step to a happy ending.  I am excited for this episode.

Ok remember, sneak peeks don’t have a lot of important context.

While our whole Phoenix/stars thing was cute, shipper logic on speculations often gets pushed aside when the whole scenes come in.  I’m sure there are some CS shippers who were SURE that Emma’s secret would be she’s in love with Hook, or wanted to kiss him again and such. So that’s the way it goes–we get our hopes up too high, they’re sure to be dashed.  That said, this scene is full of awkward and that’s the point.  I don’t think Hook was gloating.  He’s gloated before and he is really obnoxious doing it.  Here he had a subtle tone, because I think he really did think Neal knew and was trying to say he’s glad there’s no hard feelings over it all.  He called the kiss a “dalliance” so at least outwardly he wasn’t claiming it was meaningful to Emma.  Though the fact Emma did not tell Neal, well, that might make Hook and the CS shippers of course conclude that Emma did feel the kiss meant something.  Then again–nothing with her means something, right?

Dizzy yet? I hate how she’s written sometimes.  Did she not tell Neal because it meant nothing, or did the fact that she didn’t mention it actually mean something? How the heck can any of us know because it seriously could be written/interpreted both ways.  What we know though is Neal knows now, and while he looked hurt, he had the maturity not to fly off the handle with accusations.  Every time he takes the high road, I just want to cheer, because that maturity is far more attractive than innuendo to me.  He was with Tamara, he knows that so now he has to sort of endure the jealousy as Emma did.  He’s not in a place to demand anything.

Emma doesn’t know his history with Hook still.  That’s on both him and Hook, since he had the chance to tell her more back in Manhattan (though he didn’t have reason to think it would matter).  Hook’s reticence may be another story to Emma, and I hope that plays out finally.  Yet it might not because #Savehenry (only when it saves resolving their triangle of course….). Bottom line is, Emma had to endure jealousy when he was with Tamara, so he sort of has to suck it up a little while Hook makes googly eyes at her now.  Yes it’s worse that it is HOOK of all people, but on the other hand, she’s not asking Neal to contemplate co-parenting their son with the guy or anything at an awkward bagel breakfast.  So I feel for the guy, but he sort of has to just endure this and keep his heart and mind on what’s important, first saving Henry, then making sure Emma feels loved.

Neal is still someone Emma loves, whatever you think of the degree of their relationship, so it might be of concern to her to learn the less savory details of how Hook and Neal knew each other, including of course, the start and  ending to their “time together”.   She might not know how Hook and Milah sailed off, which led to Neal being left alone with his crippled singled dad and told his mother was killed by pirates.  She might not know about Hook handing over Bae to PP, or  the genuine sea change in emotions Hook experienced back and forth over Bae (use him, protect him, use him….) or Bae over Hook (distrust him, trust him, distrust him…).

We don’t know if Emma knows, or if she would care that Milah is both Neal’s mother and Hook’s first love.  There are some reasons to think she knows, but it is has never been said on screen that way.  They always dance around it, like when Hook says Neal got his drawing talent from his mother, but doesn’t say “My Milah.”   For all she knows  Milah was Rumple’s daughter and therefore, Neal’s sister, so Hook knew of Neal’s mother from that.

I think it is possible that Hook tried to rescue Bae, which explains the less hostile reaction that Neal has had towards Hook in Manhattan.  I don’t know if he was successful as we think Neal left NL after the curse was cast, and clearly, Hook left before still on a path of vengeance.  So Tink may have some good things to reveal too, if Hook did try to rescue Bae and they emerged  with a wary friendship of sorts after 100’s of years stuck in NL, aside from the whole “still going to kill your father”  and “Still hate you if you do, because he’s still my dad, even if I am angry.” thing.

I speculated for a long time that Tink was a “newcommer” to NL, arriving well after Bae and Hook had been there, and may have played a role with how one or the other, or even both, left NL.  I suppose we’ll find out now if I was right, or whether Tink was there as a fairy then went back to the FTL  due to her “second chance” and met Regina, then went back to NL.  We know she wasn’t there all along one way or the other.

So Tink definitely knows some secrets, but whether they’re good or bad ones I guess we have to see!

Magic is wonky, so when people try to argue about it sometimes,  there’s logical problems.  Emma’s magic nature is not just her parent’s love flowing into her. She is special beyond that due to the prophecy but also just who she is.  We don’t know exactly all the “logic” in the show behind her magic, but she has it, just as Regina has it.  Yet Snow and Charming don’t seem to, and it was implied their parents had true love.  I doubt Aurora’s baby is going to do anything big, but we’ll see, Ashley’s didn’t.  So when people try to argue about Henry, I don’t think that is the way the writers would want to resolve the triangle.  It would feel like a cheat to me, telling me rather than showing me the love or lack of it.

Hook and Emma have what I’d call moonlight romance–it works by the light of the moon, when its just the two of them, no one’s watching and they forget a lot of things about themselves, because its hard to see in that light so it all looks better.  Neal and Emma are  sunlight romance, because nothing’s forgotten, there’s no special atmosphere, they will come back together with full awareness of each other and their goals/dreams and it won’t matter who is around to see.  The moon has no light of its own, no matter how bright it might appear, for it is but a reflection of the sun.  As J.Mo said, her attraction to Hook was complicated by his reminding her of Neal.
We’ll see how the writers move the story but to me it is disingenuous to have Emma hurt and angsty with Neal but blissful and forgiving of all the things Hook did less than, within the story, two weeks ago.  It is a matter of survival now, so she has to work and trust both on one level  but emotionally it does not have to translate into trusting either with her heart.  I just think Neal still has her heart as she has his.

All I could think about during their scenes is darn it but they love LOST actors.  LOST spoiler== She played the assassin from Russia who tries to take out Sayid after picking him up in a bar, only to die later on from dynamite

I do wonder if she might come back though.  Jafar is one cold dude.

I could imagine a certain type of mother lying about the parentage for example, to give her child a sense of importance she says “I have a secret, but you must not tell, for you are better than these boys –you have the blood of the sultan…”.  Then it turns out not to be true.

I hope WL gets to finish out its run, really sad the ratings are not doing good.

Anton and Ariel are also not cursed, but Jefferson technically was but Regina let him have his memories.  He was still brought there by curse.

Anton was brought on Cora’s ship same as Hook.   Ariel of course swims around.  So I guess it depends on Garcia/Garcia-Swisher’s schedules whether they’ll be popping in if this does turn out to be a curse-in-reverse but it would make a sort of sense.  If so, though, these 2 characters may play a role (hey Tiny get those beans to grow, maybe Ariel can get you some seeds !).

If Wendy is in the box and in SB, she too would not go back, plus her brothers.   Not sure if it would affect WL timeline but guessing not, just grabs everyone in town
