ParticipantMaybe he wants to change the past, not just bring someone back, but change the whole path of how he became evil in the first place. Ever seen Loopers? What if a villain said, I really don’t want to BE a villain anymore, even a reformed one, I want to actually change everything. You might feel no amount of evil you do will matter, because if you succeed, then none of it ever happened.

ParticipantThat’s disappointing because I loved the slogans for both. Of course, what I said about the 3 love interests holds still–that’s who they left out, Henry, Belle and Neal. I wonder how “close” and “which cases” the ABC marketing team meant, because really, how hard is it to put some taglines before releasing the full high quality pictures? They obviously took all of these the same day, so at this point I suppose I wouldn’t be shocked if they swapped Neal’s to “Believe that it can always get worse.” And Belle’s to “Forgot to believe” and Henry’s, well they’ll just swap in this thing:

ParticipantSo I was looking on Twitter, and there was this site that popped up that Adam follows. This cracked me up. It only very indirectly relates to Swanfire but I need a “Droll Troll” thread for all the witty/sassy comments and things that Adam does that shows the problems of pleasing/interacting with us fans.
It is really tough at this point of the story to believe, but I think that’s the point. Charming is dying, Regina is losing it, Hook’s making eyes at Emma, Emma’s feeling lost, Snow’s feeling pushed away, Henry is trying to kill PP, and Rumple’s gone off having visions in the jungle. Meanwhile, Belle ‘s all alone (for now) and Neal is trying to get to them. The hero never believes at first. It wouldn’t be a good story right? Things have to get dark before they get better so you feel the happiness and resolution.
Along that line, I realized something about the 3 posters we just got. Henry, Belle and Neal. Henry is obviously the object of parental love. Belle is obviously the object of true romantic love from Rumple. Neal? I think he combines those love interest roles–he’s a loving son, father, and the true love of Emma.
Every awesome TV show that ever got canceled lost its way because some executive was spending too much time reading internet comments.

ParticipantPP might have planned it, but whether they get back together would be a choice. I think it is quite possible that PP orchestrated many events. We have a puppet (August…or had) so why not a puppet master?

ParticipantJust saying, if Han Solo/Wes is the model for Hook, doesn’t mean Buttercup/Leia is Emma. In fact, I kind of think it’s more mixed around in true OUAT fashion. Hook and Emma might kiss, but so did Leia and Luke. Context is everything. They aren’t changing the names and telling the same stories. They might inject the “DNA” in building a character archetype/plot but they are not just playing out a formula here.
I always saw Hook as more like Ignio/Lando and I stand by that. He’s trying hard, and I do think he will reform and be best buddies –but doesn’t mean he has to get the girl or that he is even going to want to try, or that she wants him to try. Whether he takes a step back because of the “Bro code” principle, or because Emma is just not that into him, or because he realizes Neal and Emma actually are true love, in the end, he can be a hero without being Emma’s love. If he is who she wants, well, the story will have to start showing us that she is reciprocating and seeing these other grand things in him, and showing us where Neal’s second chance is if it is not with her, and where Emma’s home is, if it is not with Neal. There’s no way to “logically” say what these answers are as it is a story, and there are parts to the story we do not know. Based on what we do know–I am going to believe Neal gets his second chance to find a Home with Emma (Henry and the rest too!).

ParticipantI hope so Mick, also I just had this thought on the Believe poster. His hand is in his pocket, holding the Swan Necklace.
