ParticipantThe only thing that goes against that PP does not intend to kill Henry is the line Felix had saying “oh you are not the boy? Then you get to live”. Felix may not have known though what PP wants or why. Given how PP treated GOAT I think his motto may be “need to know basis and you do not need to know” and easier to get Felix loyal if he does not say we need this kid to really believe to keep the staus quo.
I know A&E talked about Pan as being like Kurtz from Heart of Darkness, the Joseph Conrad novel. Pan enjoys being a demi-god to the others but they may be seething with rage and resentment against him, so if they knew he had a weakness, they might rebel. In the original PP novel/Play the other boys want to go with Wendy and he alone stays.

ParticipantJust what Peter (and the writers ) want. No wonder A&E are so excited to go to NL–it frees suspension of disbelief of why a character would put a rock and a hard place choice, rather than just kill the hero with the rock. The reason is–Pan is diabolical and enjoying the game, even if he may also have another deeper reason like testing the belief.

ParticipantI love that idea Lauren! That is the angsty stuff.

ParticipantI think the idea of Peter looking for family, but with a twisted sense of it may prove to be an element here. Why does Peter only want boys? We thought it was to find the boy in the picture but are there any Lost Girls in his tribe?
We know that the title refers to Emma. I wonder if it also might have hints to this.

ParticipantI am going to geek out again but someone else out there said the same thing about video or RPG conventions (like D&D, WOW, Final Fantasy). So maybe someone else will get this reference but magic users are often classed as offensive magic users or healers, both who cannot do much physical damage or take much damage. Then you have hybrids like Emma who heal, fight and can take a licking and keep ticking. but not as much offensive magic. Hybrid classes are hard to balance right in a game so then you get someone overpowered who does it all and better–like Rumple. but sometimes it does not work quite as well in a group where you need to protect or heal others, because the skills apply mainly to yourself.
So I do not expect Regina to be very good at healing magic–it is not her “class” in a manner of video game speaking but as it is a show, they can give her abilities for it if they want. I think we did see her do some positive things with magic on occasion, or at least not harmful.

ParticipantHm maybe that plays into why Emma needs Regina’s help to learn magic–to heal Daddy…

Participant@Phee– Yes! You are right that of the characters we have met, Neal best understands what real world life was like for Emma. He experienced it in a different order, but he understands what she is going through. Her parents think the real world had been nothing but cruel to her, but it seems like a lot of the cruelest things led back to magic, certainly Neal’s reason for leaving her did.
Neal struggled to learn a new land, so he gets what Emma is going through now. It is a crazy sort of spin on the immigrant experience if you think about it. He had to adjust to the real world on the fly and now she has to do the same with his sort of “birth world” problems of a land with magic, classic characters, good and evil and magic. Another detail of the “Poetic” story that I hope the writers are doing.

ParticipantYes that is why I thought it might be like a shapesfift or symbiote situation where Peter does not have full access to his memories and such, like the Hulk but less angry or Ruby as wolf but with more limited control.

ParticipantLol I just saw this post Runaround, I also think it would be cute for Henry to be born then–not sure AT ALL of the T-word for his birth, but maybe it was date of conception instead 😛
