ParticipantI see Hook and Emma as like Regina and Charming. It’s not “best friends” at all, but Charming was able to reach a truce state, with almost sympathy and trust for Regina when Snow was in FTL.
I don’t like a “rebound” story for Hook and Ariel. I’d prefer it to be more thematically–accepting yourself for who you are, fishtail and love of piracy and all.

ParticipantI have seen speculation that ERIC is Regina’s love interest….what if, just before the curse went down, Regina took on a disguise as Vanessa to practice her transformation. She meets Eric who falls for her with no idea who she is, which charms Regina. (this is part of her inspiration for what she wants in SB, a fresh start). Unknown to Eric or Regina, Ariel had come to FTL to explore and had fallen for Eric. Ariel reveals who Vanessa really is to Eric and he rejects Regina, so she kills him (maybe strangling him with squid like tree branches? I don’t know). Ariel escapes through a portal (lets just say she has portal magic) getting trapped in NL. Regina’s problem is that Ariel escaped, but she does not care that much, more a pretext to needle Rumple when she talks about a certain mermaid.
So when Ariel sees Regina again…she’s out for blood.
Now I’m not sure how that plays into Hookriel, as nominally, Hook would be against Ariel in this scenario. Oh well.
Sailing on….

ParticipantI think that happened to Bae too–I mean who wants to play with the kid who’s dad might kill you if you hit him too hard with a ball?

ParticipantYes they confirmed she could have trusted him not to steal the compass and prevent her from getting to SB–but beyond that? He still would have been at odds with Emma if he wanted to hurt Belle or kill Gold (especially if there was the risk of the Dark One power being transferred) I think. We’ll never know though, because they didn’t write that story.
What they did write, and I still find a touch funny, is Emma hugging Anton like a long lost friend, when originally it was a tersely granted favor between them.

ParticipantI wouldn’t say she trusted him generally though, just because she trusted him in context where they had the same goal of the compass. Even Snow thought he was working with Cora and it could be a trap, so it was in the back of Emma’s mind the whole time.
What is clear though–she trusted Anton, and still trusted Anton when she met him again in SB even though he’d tried to kill her father with the misunderstanding. Now THAT is trust. Or inconsistent writing, not sure which it is, but somehow it went from that being a favor Anton owed to they were hugging.

ParticipantUm, just want to make one correction. In the Disney The Little Mermaid, it’s Prince Eric with a c. It’s kinda bothered me for a couple pages seeing his name with a ‘k’.
Anyway. Carry on now.
Did someone find and replace the “Erik”‘s with “Eric” for you? Because I didn’t see it in the posts. I know what you mean though, when I see Bella instead of Belle. But that changes the sound of the name.
Or is it originally Erik and we’re all spelling it Eric?

ParticipantWait, there’s an older one even…must admit, its more romantic picturing Killian Jones-Hook than …THAT guy…but the story of it ….its still cute.
This one seems to be saying a story of Ariel getting dumped by Eric and then meeting Hook.I’m not sure what the storyline is here after watching it again. ParticipantVery nice flag! Worth all the time Jo. Is it easy to inverse it so its black with white ?
Traditionally white flag is surrender! No. Never give up. Never surrender!“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
